https://news.sky.com/story/row-over-new-greggs-vegan-sausage-rolls-heats-up-11597679 (https://archive.ph/5Ba6o)

A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

@ApeBass ,God forgive me for saying this, but the more of the world I see,the more thankful I am that I'm unable to have children. I'm really glad there's people in this world like you who can and do. I sometimes (though less now because it's a moot point) wonder if I would have the mental fortitude to have a child and raise it in spite of the insanity there is, and I don't think I do.

The troon movement is fucking disgusting and it's absolutely sick that the faggots allied themselves with it. I could almost get it on side with gays who keep to themselves and have a stable, steady relationship, but "pride" is the antithesis of that and the troons are the worst of the lot. They actively spout lies and talk damaged and vulnerable young people into allowing active harm, irreversible, lasting damage, to be done to them. All so we can "be kind" and "accepting".

I'll leave the Torygrahph headline as is; Miliband ‘covered up’ document showing net zero plan will increase bills
It's interesting, because the guy running Octopus was absolutely cock-a-hoop for the idea of regional pricing and lobbied heavily for it. Octopus still pushes for it even now. All their APIs are set up with regional pricing in mind, even though it doesn't actually show any difference.

My "friend" responded that if her daughter decided to transition she would accept it
Yea just accept it retard. And when your teenage child has a tantrum and threatens to run away from home you should start help them packing their bags and book them a train ticket. And when they want to go out drinking at 14 in some cunts house party you should buy them a bottle to take with them. Obviously. You're a parent, your only job is to agree and support literally everything. You aren't meant to guide your child and help them make the right choices that they might not understand. Your age and experience is actually worth less than a fucking teenager's opinions, something that are known to be solid and never change or be incredibly flawed and naive.
I'm on first name terms with our postman who just opens our unlocked front door and puts any parcels on the side.
I miss when we had the same. The postman would love coming to our house and he'd pet our dog and he'd love it. But now if our dog barks the retarded jeets get shit scared of her because they can't tell the difference between 'i am going to kill the postman' and 'fucking get here already i want to play with the postman'. She's just telling me that there's someone at the door but they can't understand that.

I miss knowing people. You used to know the postie and the milkman and the butcher and the corner store people. Now the postie is fucking brown and half the time fucks off before you even open the door so you never talk to them, not that you would want to. Milkmen don't exist for some reason. No idea why when it's actually a pretty good green thing, much better than shit loads of plastic. Butchers don't exist either, or when they do they're prohibitively expensive. And all the people in shops rotate constantly, you don't ever know anyone, it's just a constantly changing group of 20 year olds that leave as soon as they can.

Hope I'm not late posting this.

Four-acre traveller site 'illegally built at weekend'

Residents described how about 30 lorries delivered materials including fencing and septic tanks under the cover of darkness as work began on Friday.

Speaking anonymously, one said: "It felt like a military operation. The sheer scale and enormity of it is breathtaking."

They added: "They have ploughed through with no apparent consideration for wildlife, ecology, pollution, drainage - all of the things that need to be taken into account when you are developing any site.

"It's just railroaded, and that's unbelievable."

Drone images taken at the site show what appears to be individual, fenced-off plots being created on the land.

Tracy Williams, who has lived nearby for a decade, said people had been "really upset, scared, intimidated" about what was going on.

"It just feels really frustrating and uncomfortable," said the 42-year-old.
Another resident, also speaking anonymously, claimed a drone had been put up as part of a "skilled operation" by those behind the work to catch people spying.

Also describing it as akin to a "military operation", they said: "The whole village is devastated, lots of us aren't sleeping at night. The stress levels are really high.

"In a matter of three or four days, when they've done it, they've just completely ruined the village."

According to meeting papers from December, external, there was a need for 35 traveller pitches across the Uttlesford District Council area.

Smith, who founded Gypsy and Travellers Essex, claimed planning processes often discriminated against her community and that seeking retrospective permission was seen as a better alternative.

1778091013925.png

Sherrie Smith hoped everyone "can learn to live alongside each other" in the village
She met with the people behind the construction and said they were cousins who owned the land and wanted it to build a better future for their children.

"They've apologised to the residents around there, so they told me," Smith said.

"I think that when the noise stops, and the building stops, hopefully they can learn to live alongside each other."

Smith denied they had ripped out any ancient hedgerows and said those responsible were not troublemakers.

A Uttlesford District Council spokesperson said: "Officers are working at pace to assess the activity on site and gather evidence before considering the full range of enforcement options available.

"We want to reassure residents that the situation is of paramount importance and that appropriate action may be taken in line with our statutory powers."

lol, lmao even

I don't get that either. This group of misfits filmed the damage as they were inflicting it on the property, and from what I saw, each one of them damaged some piece of property.

If you are seen offending on film (and your own film at that) then how can you not be guilty?
I read somewhere (can't remember now, trust me bro) that the families were all confused as well, and of course the jurors can't explain their decision. Zoe Rogers's mum apparently said on X: "It's an incredible result that the jury acquitted any of them, when all 6 clearly stated they had damaged Elbit property – perhaps that's some recognition of the defendants' motivations". She's a nutjob so I wouldn't trust her reasoning.

I found this, which gives most of the closing speeches (most of which were given by the defendants themselves): https://archive.is/z40CI

I can see why the GBH guy was downgraded from GBH with intent. His barrister did a pretty good job.

But it's also clear that the six of them were told there would be no security guards involved - just police - clearly by someone(s) at PA. Maybe don't believe useful idiots next time?

Zoe Rogers, 22, and Jordan Devlin, 31, were acquitted of the same charge by a jury at Woolwich Crown Court earlier.

Woolich is 71% Non White British. Hmm. I wonder ?!

Different jury, ( different lawyers ? Different judge ? ) same location - higher percentage of arseholes identifying with their "cause" ?

Juries are supposed to only weigh up evidence, but we live in the real world.

There are an increasing percentage of society that no longer accept the rule of law - look at the rise in shoplifting. We've all seen how mentally deranged the Woke Left, Free Palestine, Tranny Rights brigade are - they'd forgive somebody else in their clan a bit of GBH on a woman.

It's been going on forever - the expression when I was at school was "sweating like a black man on a rape charge in Texas" - I guess my classmates weren't very pc - but they understood how the world worked, even then.

Well this reads like a suicide note;

Dear Colleagues,

One of my first actions as Prime Minister was to record a message to all of you. In it, I said that as public servants, you have my confidence, my support and, importantly, my respect. Since that day, I have seen that respect justified time and again. Whether it is the DWP official helping a family get the support they need, the prison officer keeping us safe, or the policy professional solving the most complex challenges of the age - your work is the backbone of this country.

I know that for some of you, particularly those in roles in central government, the events of the last recent weeks have felt unsettling. For many more of you, these headlines might feel a world away from your daily work. But wherever you serve, I want to be clear: these events do not define the Civil Service.

At the Cabinet meeting a fortnight ago, I spoke with my colleagues about the vital importance of the partnership between politicians and officials. We are one team. My Government’s priorities - from tackling the cost of living to rebuilding the NHS and making our streets safer - cannot be delivered by ministers alone. They require your expertise, your challenge, and your dedication. I know that the Cabinet Secretary is focused on delivering these priorities working with all of you to serve the public in the best interests of our country.

To those who feel exposed by recent scrutiny, let me say this: I value the "speaking truth to power" that is the hallmark of our system. I want a culture where information flows freely, where risks are flagged early, and where we work together to solve problems before they become crises. The relationship between a minister and their officials relies on a bedrock of total transparency. Without that trust, the partnership that sits at the heart of our constitution cannot function. We are fixing the processes that have failed, but we are not changing the fundamental value we place on your role.

My ask of you is to continue acting with the pride and professionalism that brought you into public service. Continue to provide the honest, rigorous advice that makes our government better.

The service you give this country matters. My confidence in the integrity and dedication of the Civil Service remains absolute. We have a huge job to do for the British people, and we will do it together.

Sir Keith Starmer (FAGGOT, Arab cocksucker, wife beater, NONCE)
Prime Minister (duh, no shit)

This fucker is done, I reckon the cabinet told him, they will force him out or Boris him (all resign) and humiliate him. Even Mahmood is saying we need more refugees because she is trying to curry (HAHA dirty paki bitch) favour with his successor. It's either Streeting or Rayner. They want to run Milliband, but he is too unpopular.

Summer is going to be amazing this year. Reform is set to win Birmingham, btw. Farage is the Chamberlain to Lowe, and the council's failing en masse is going to be Reform's death.

While I am interested to see tomorrow's election results (espec the turnout), I can't help but be annoyed by the endless Yankification of politics. I've seen so many social media accounts say the elections are "SUPER IMPORTANT", which yes, they are, but for the bins and schools and social care. Councils have no relation to Westminster. Yes these elections will determine Labour's future because Keir is so despised, but it feels like no one ever cared about council elections at all (turnouts in the 20-30%s) and now its absolutely everywhere. It's a weird feeling (that perhaps I'm somewhat guilty of) but a lot of pundits and politicians seem to be treating these like yankee Midterms in terms of how fucking important they are. I'm now going to be hypocritical and say-

Reform is set to win Birmingham, btw
Some group called Bombe predicted landslides in the Birmingham Mail. They used AI forecasting so grain of salt. The current YouGov prediction is 21-25 Reform for Birmingham. If Bham goes Reform by a long margin, Keir is done for imho. He can survive Greens, but I don't think he can't live down Bham going Reform, especially if other cities like Coventry or Manchester (Salford) go Reform.

Those council bastards haven't given me my ballot paper anyway. Cunts.

It's not HIS Government. It's OURS. We vote for them,we pay for them,we know where they live and work. In theory (I know, gimme your rainbows) they should serve us,not the will of a ham faced, pedo enabling freak who should have had a coat hanger for a head.

We really should have an exclusion to the one word ban to just post hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah because holy fucking shit did the Ukranian rent boys give you something? Nigger you have done nothing but make life more expensive, the nhs more overcrowded and the streets less safe. I know you're a politician and your job is to lie but come on at least try and make it even remotely believable.
I'm once again betting a warwick davies appreciation thread on Kier stayimg in powah.
When you do can you post the entire thing in the smallest text size. Just to fit the topic.

He hit someone on the back with a fucking sledgehammer, fracturing their spine.

If it’s within the letter of the law to give that anything other than GBH, with intent, whatever, leading to a severe custodial sentence, then the law needs changing.

You know that, actually, none of that is how it works.

We’ve had the choice between two parties for generations, no matter which one has ‘won’ things have continued as they were always going to.

Almost all of them could survive without their taxpayer funded salary, they have multiple other income streams from the multinational corporations and their lobby groups that they actually serve, it’s certainly not Charles.

Good luck seeing them ‘at work’, the ones with a bit of profile are protected and cloistered. If something ever happened to any of them they’d be immediately replaced by another rent-a-gobshite and business would continue as usual, but now with an extra appeal to emotion of ‘carrying on the important work’ of the last one.

@Morethanabitfoolish ”Matthew Ryder KC, representing Kaba's family, told the court his relatives were "extremely keen" for the proceedings to continue.” -

I’m sure they fucking are, in desperate hope of winning the ghetto lottery. Who the fuck pays for this ‘KC’, the taxpayer?

@ApeBass “I lost virtually every female friend I had overnight, many just blocked my number without even having the decency to talk to me about my heresy first.” -

Do you have any idea if any of them have since changed their minds?

@femboy fart huffer ”Butchers don't exist either, or when they do they're prohibitively expensive” -

Or ‘halal’.

There's something deeply broken about the social "care" system in Oldham. They colluded with the paki rape gangs and they're still covering up child abuse today.
I knew that city sounded familiar when it was brought up.
Just checking, but is Birmingham still a massive landfill that people just happen to live in?
Are you talking about before or after the strike? Doesn't matter either way though, the answer is still "Yes".
She looks amazing, she’s in her sixties now and always seems to have nailed the concept of just eating nice things and enjoying life and looking fabulous. I bet she doesn’t stress about calories. Have to say I admire that. Probably not up for the coke, but that’s the London elite for you
Cocaine is a hell of a weight loss supplement.

can somone explain to me why the BBC seems to be trying to more or less kill itself on the altar of DEI? I will admit most of my expirence comes from them just utterly destroying Dr. Who but after doing more digging it seems like they are on a race to the bottom.
