A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Between this, labour going full retard, and the greens campaigning in fucking urdu, I think we're going to see serious questions raised about the validity of this vote by someone.

I'm half expecting the tories to pull off a dark horse and come in clutch. It's one of those weird days.
Reform should totally storm Westminister to prove a point. It would be really funny and definitely wouldn't be used as an incentive to bring us closer to a True and Honest Totalitarian hellhole.

2 days ago the UK government announced they're banning incest simulation in porn with 2 years in prison for creating or possessing it. Now that every mainstream porn site is infested with "step" incest they've made it illegal to view porn sites at all. So now they want you to prove you're over 18 to access sites they will/have made illegal knowing the front page of those sites all contain fake incest videos.

And this is the same government supporting cousin marriage and saying it's positive.

Clown world. Anarcho Tyranny. I don't fucking know but it's either a very smart trap or it's such stupidity it fell into place to make every one who ever views a mainstream porn site, browses an image board or sees an edgy twitter user making jokes illegal.

They're also making it illegal to make "semen defaced images" or own them. What a fucking joke of a country. Who the fuck cares if someone jerks off onto their phone or a print out? Rape gangs aren't a priority, but we must save our A4s from man goo!
This is why I said that the Globalhomo agenda is "Paul Essenite" in nature. It's not some free for all Slaaneshi gift economy debauchery, it's the complete extermination of all that is impure.

I cannot wait until they start outlawing anything with even an inch of skin revealed (save for the arms and face of course).

And don't worry about it, as Real ID Discord can attest, whatever happens in the UK WILL happen worldwide no matter if you like it or not, and it will.

Especially after America inevitably falls to civil war.

I’ve never met or spoken to anyone who has voted tactically. It’s not a thing except for a very very small bunch of people who think reading The Guardian gives them a personality.
It's the main argument against Restore right now. Yes, people like them better than Reform, but "split the vote".

As to Gorton and Denton, I'd love to know how much of the Green victory was down to Islamist votes. Clearly they were going all out in the campaign to get it, but I haven't seen any actual numbers and I don't know the demographics of the area well. Like how many Muslims are there and how much did they specifically vote for the Greens over Labour, etc.

I wonder how long it will take for the foot to drop and realise that muds control the voting in many areas now due to pure numbers. The idea of a campaign video in arabic is fucking disgusting TBH, and really highlights that the traditional parties are dead in certain areas now.

But yes people need to wake up. I've been bombarded with Ramadan shit recently - at the supermarket, on buses, at work. They had three big whiteboards up at the entrance to the staff canteen, giving us the opportunity to learn why Muslims fast on Ramadan.

It's absolutely obnoxious. I don't know, and I don't care to know. This is not my culture and it doesn't belong in my country.

I've commented it before, you basically have a tale of two areas stitched together, Denton is basically all White, the area around Levenshulme is basically all Paki, you FEEL the BAME Geiger go crazy the second you enter the vicinity. "Up and coming area" my arse, unless that's code for little Afghanistan.

In that case I am all the more curious on this. I've found nothing more detailed in the news on this and I'd very much like to know how much the Muslim vote played in the Green Party's win.

Looking it up, it seems that Gorton and Denton itself was formed in 2023 when the government reorganised boundaries and I can't help wondering about how deliberate it was to attach such a dissimilar area to the Denton one. At the time, Labour most likely assumed that they would get the Muslim vote (because Labour are wildly short-term thinkers).

I don't know, but I'm suspicious.

Putting a "democratic" system on top of two distinct communities rather than a system by which a single community governs itself, feels like that old line about two foxes and a chicken voting on what's for dinner.

This is both bizarre and … kind of pointless? Why? Are images of kier Starmer glazing Ukrainian rent boys circulating?
Like with everything else in like. Some stupid cunt on twitter started whining so they decided it needed banning. Same with all the deep fake and AI shit. If someone makes a fake nude of you or jerks off on a print out shrug and go "Couldn't get any huh?" and move the fuck on with life. But we need petty tyranny.

In other news. Labour wanted to suspend all their local elections so they could redraw the council maps making super councils. Except they haven't even decided what the boundaries for a super council is. In new reports some have been added or removed from the new guide lines. So Labour have suspended elections in places that may or may not get a new council within a year.. They want to stop you voting while they can't even decide on what you might be voting for,

When I lived in the Gulf it was very clear that we were supposed to respect the local culture or risk deportation...and I saw people deported.

I hate that the islamo-trannies won that by election but I am trying to remember that it is a by-election during the term of a deeply unpopular government and it does not herald the dawning of a Green Calliphate despite what their breathlessly excited supporters may claim.

They won because Labour fucked it from the start by rejecting Burnham, and because the Greens have been successful in jettisoning any principles they may have once had to court the Islamic vote - who can be guaranteed to vote as a block for whoever their "community leaders" tell them to vote for.

These people should not be in my country, never mind voting in its elections.

The most depressing aspect is that Reform are in bed with them too.

They won because the Tories and Labour teamed up to be the most unlikable people possible. Don't underestimate how bad it is for Reform when they lose to the greens. That shows the damage Reform have done to their own party.

Wouldn't have happened if they didn't let the Tory grifters in the tent
I think to both of you, the actual reason may have been decided during the boundary re-drawing. I looked up the seat boundaries:
1772187048715.png
(look how organic and natural that boundary is).

The three bolted onto the Western side, are the three that in this polling were predicted for Greens. Total up the population figures for those three wards in total and they already come to over 50% of the total district numbers.

1772187079049.png

Labour likely thought at the time of this redrawing that they would be the beneficiaries of bolting this all together.

I don't think it is bad for Reform in the wider context. They're trying to break the traditional two party mould - the Greens being portrayed as a viable alternative plays up to the narrative of "traditional politics" being on the way out.

It also provides a better foil for their rhetoric of being anti immigration - far better to point to the gap toothed hypnotist boogeyman who nakedly wants to turn your b&q into a mosque for millions of unwashed migrants and give your kids free smack rather than a labour party paying lip service to toughening up immigration laws.

The Green party being seen as a genuine electoral force is necessary to make those fears grounded in reality.

The greens and reform have a symbiotic and mutually beneficial relationship. And it's all very islamic.

I'm convinced leftists see Muslims like dogs, pitbulls to be specific. When you tell them "you'll be the first the Muslims turn on should they gain power", it's like telling a dog-lover that a stray litter of pitbull puppies will become dangerous as they age and, for our safety, we should move them out of the town. To them, you're paranoid and psychotic - "Why would someone be afraid of a puppy? Why would someone advocate these fur-babies be removed from their home? That's cruel! Only someone evil would hurt a puppy!"

So, is there going to be a pattern of the Greens winning, or is this like that George Galloway guy, where they win once, make a few headlines and then fade into irrelevancy? Did regular Labour voters vote Green or did they not vote at all, similar to what happened to Conservatives?

Few thoughts I had while reading about the by-election:
  • Family voting would be a lot worse if they could see the Muslims doing it during postal voting.
  • A lot of people do not understand what family voting means.
  • I don't think Labour is fully out yet, they just have not adopted Green's tactics of targeting voters in a sectarian fashion. They will learn from that mistake. Frankly, I think they are more palatable to the Muslim bloc once they figure it out.
  • Reform have not understood why they lost at all.
  • If Jeremy Clarkson stands for Restore, they win. Big if though.

I’ve seen chats full of normies scoffing at the very concept of family voting. It just doesn’t compute.
How do you say “yeah, it’s because they’re all Pakistani Muslims” without sounding racist?
