A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Men set woman on fire in revenge attack
Article
Five men have been convicted in connection with an attack that led to a serious house fire in which a woman and a girl were badly burned.

Five others had previously admitted offences relating to the incidents in Stoke-on-Trent in 2021.

Following an 11-week trial at Nottingham Crown Court, Det Con Howard Davies of Staffordshire Police said: "This was a horrific ordeal for a mother to be set on fire in her own home in front of her daughter by a number of men seeking revenge."

The men have all been remanded in custody to await sentence at a date to be fixed.
The police force said on the afternoon of 16 December 2021, Naveed Hussain, 32, Bilal Ahmed, 26, Kashif Ahmed, 25 and Ali Abbas, 22, all from Stoke-on-Trent, had a fight on Kildare Street, Longton.

It said Kashif Ahmed received a stab wound to his shoulder and went to hospital for treatment.

Just before 23:00 that evening, a number of men went to a house on Beverley Drive, in the Bentilee area of Stoke-on-Trent, demanding to speak to Hussain.

Staffordshire Police said the men smashed the downstairs windows and poured petrol in the hallway near to the front door and outside near to the living room window.

The force said a 31-year-old woman was hit on the head and set on fire, causing 65% burns.

At the time she was not expected to survive and was in a coma for two months.

She did survive, but has life-changing injuries that will require continual medical treatment.

A 13-year-old girl received 15% burns to her right arm and right leg.

They escaped by smashing an upstairs window and jumping out, leaving the woman with a broken pelvis, broken ribs and a lacerated liver, meaning she had to learn to walk again.

Following the trial, the following five men were convicted:

  • Shakil Uddin, 23, of Oldham - convicted of attempted murder and arson with intent
  • Lukman Khan, 24, of Stoke-on-Trent - convicted of grievous bodily harm with intent and arson with intent
  • Riyadh Iqbal, 23, of Stoke-on-Trent - convicted of grievous bodily harm with intent and arson with intent
  • Muhammad Sufyaan-Shah, 25, of HMP Hindley, Wigan - convicted of grievous bodily harm with intent
  • Tayyeb Majeed, 23, of Stoke-on-Trent - convicted of grievous bodily harm with intent
Before the trial, the following five men pleaded guilty to offences:

  • Ali Abbas, 22, of Stoke-on-Trent - admitted to two counts of attempted murder and arson with intent to endanger life and violent disorder
  • Haris Mahmood, 21, of Stoke-on-Trent - admitted to two counts of attempted murder and arson with intent to endanger life
  • Naveed Hussain, 32, of Stoke-on-Trent - admitted violent disorder and possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place
  • Kashif Ahmed, 25, of Stoke-on-Trent - admitted violent disorder
  • Bilal Ahmed, 26, of Stoke-on-Trent - admitted violent disorder

Why would "men" do this?

What does the SNP do? Take the same stance as Westminster or even make stupider steps
The SNP were ran by a person who is not Scottish and actively did not fight for Scottish independence. They were ran by a fucking jeet who openly talked about how much he fucking hated white people and the Scots specifically. The SNP are for Scottish independence as much as Labour is for the labourers.
Our autism comes in hot, cold and site owner.
He could have rolled some train or gun or even fucking sonic autism. But instead his autism hyperfixation was someone else's autistic hyperfixation and hating English people.
Convicted but no sentencing included in there. I wonder if there might be a reason? I know sentencing comes after but normally they wait to include that don't they? Especially as looking at the crimes, the bottom ones especially. 'admitted violent disorder' so that'll be 0 jail time. And how can one person be convicted of attempted murder by arson yet the other people involved in the same thing just get convicted of gbh? What they just set her on fire because they wanted to not kill her? That's even worse imo.

Gorton and Denton by-election already causing trouble, International election observers recorded 32 cases of illegal family voting in the same polling booth across 15 polling stations in Gorton and Denton, the highest levels of family voting at any election in our 10 year history of observing elections in the UK, among other voter shenanigans.
Full Democracy Volunteers Statement
Democracy Volunteers deployed four accredited election observers across the Gorton and Denton Westminster Parliamentary By-election today. The team attended 22 of the 45 polling stations in the constituency, spending between 30 and 45 minutes in each.

The observers worked in pairs using the international standard for election observation – the four eyes principle. Each team assessed several aspects of the polling process, from accessibility to issues around the integrity of the vote.

Staff were welcoming to the team and we would like to thank them for their time in accommodating our work.

The team assessed two significant aspects of electoral integrity – family voting (where two voters either confer, collude or direct each other on voting) which breaches the secret ballot. The team also assessed the impact of the requirement for voters to show ID before they are issued with a ballot paper.

2023 saw the enactment of the Ballot Secrecy Act, which made the practice of family voting more clearly a breach of the secret ballot, making it more enforceable by staff in polling stations. Signage is now available to discourage the practice. Signage was only seen in 45% of the polling stations observed.

The observer team saw family voting in 15 of the 22 polling stations observed, some 32 cases in total, nine cases in one polling station alone. The team observed a sample of 545 voters casting their vote – meaning 12% of those voters observed either caused or were affected by family voting.

Commenting John Ault, Director of Democracy Volunteers said;

‘Today we have seen concerningly high levels of family voting in Gorton and Denton. Based on our assessment of today’s observations, we have seen the highest levels of family voting at any election in our 10 year history of observing elections in the UK.’

‘We rarely issue a report on the night of an election, but the data we have collected today on family voting, when compared to other recent by-elections, is extremely high.’

‘In the other recent Westminster parliamentary by-election in Runcorn and Helsby we saw family voting in 12% of polling stations, affecting 1% of voters. In Gorton and Denton, we observed family voting in 68% of polling stations, affecting 12% of those voters observed.’

The team also observed cases of voters being turned away, however, in each case this was due to them not being a registered voter for Westminster elections, such as having EU citizenship, and only being allowed to vote in local elections.

The team also saw a number of voters taking photographs of their ballot papers and one voter being authorised to vote despite them already having been marked as voted earlier in the day.

Democracy Volunteers has informed elections staff at Manchester City Council about our findings today.

I’ve never met or spoken to anyone who has voted tactically. It’s not a thing except for a very very small bunch of people who think reading The Guardian gives them a personality.

It’s just cope for when pollsters get results very wrong.

Normal people think about who they think will represent their interests. Muslims think about who will represent the interests of Hamas.

It’s that simple.
I did it in the last election to get rid of the fucking SNP and it worked.

Closest thing I've ever seen to a tactical voter was my great aunt in 2010. She'd been a life-long labour voter, but she was so disgusted with them that she voted lib dem. Last vote she ever cast. She died two years later at 101, so she never really saw the full impact of the conlib coalition, but she died proud anyway.

At least I assume she did. She spent her last two weeks sleeping.

What did Rob Grant say first day on the job?

Naylor? I hardly knew her!

Between this, labour going full retard, and the greens campaigning in fucking urdu, I think we're going to see serious questions raised about the validity of this vote by someone.

I'm half expecting the tories to pull off a dark horse and come in clutch. It's one of those weird days.

The older greens are pretty much weeded out for the newer social justice/radical action crowd that I have seen less give a shit about the environment as a whole. I haven't seen any green members for a long, long time but that's because I'm not in a major city or town to see them.
They actually came and canvassed my neighbourhood the other day, and I was like 'Holy shit'. It was two women. One of them was older, fat. They actually said on their little leaflet that Tories and Lib Dems couldn't win in my borough, so vote Greens if you want to see change. I thought to myself that what I absolutely hate about our Labour ran council is the utter retardation they promote in the name of environmentalism and 'combatting climate change'. Why would I vote for even bigger climate nutjobs in the form of the Greens?

2 days ago the UK government announced they're banning incest simulation in porn with 2 years in prison for creating or possessing it. Now that every mainstream porn site is infested with "step" incest they've made it illegal to view porn sites at all. So now they want you to prove you're over 18 to access sites they will/have made illegal knowing the front page of those sites all contain fake incest videos.

And this is the same government supporting cousin marriage and saying it's positive.

Clown world. Anarcho Tyranny. I don't fucking know but it's either a very smart trap or it's such stupidity it fell into place to make every one who ever views a mainstream porn site, browses an image board or sees an edgy twitter user making jokes illegal.

1772096085958093.png
They're also making it illegal to make "semen defaced images" or own them. What a fucking joke of a country. Who the fuck cares if someone jerks off onto their phone or a print out? Rape gangs aren't a priority, but we must save our A4s from man goo!

Farage is a snake, but they're still better than the Greens.
At least the Greens are honest in whom they are for. Reform are openly insidious, they are the ones who'll open the Gates of Toledo and still scream GUYS WE ARE BASED!

With a distant Matt Goodwin screaming:

I will NEVER trust those nigger loving, bastard, corrupt, self-enriching, Afghan importing, mass migration addicted, tax-dodging, GDP obsessed, hotel filling, faux right, CIVIC, PAKI faggots.

Shame Welsh faggot raged out and left. I would have loved to see him bend himself into a pretzel over the election results that he was 100% Reform would sweep.
