A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Update on the kid who stabbed two school kids:

former pupil, 13 years old, arrested at a nearby mosque.

I wonder if he is a former pupil because he was referred to PREVENT who removed him, or if his parents are on a watch list?
This shit is getting buried so hard right now, barely anywhere is reporting on it. I caught the Dankula video talking about it and he pointed out the fact the kid mentioned "Allhau Akbar" was right at the bottom of the article and they just mention counter terrorism is involved in passing (this was from the Sun). This seems to be the new play book for when this sort of stuff happens now. Give it no oxygen and don't talk about it.

When these 'peado' jibes reach fever pitch, what distraction do you think they will use?

Truck of peace
Stabbing of peace
Loud backpack of peace
International tragedy
Public transport accident
Popular British personality scandal

Place your bets.
Well they’ve milked the Brooklyn beckham boredom for all it’s worth. So probably violence.

i personally don't think the muzzies can be controlled, or need any prompting by gchq to do an act of Peace. I'm going with celeb drama or a cancer diagnosis. Or they kill Attenborough to force the nation into mourning.

this paedo shit is not dying down. Wes Streeting and Shabana Mahmood were involved in the campaign to get child sex offender Liron Velleman elected as a councillor in Barnet. Starmer also knew of him.

If Labour were Queen songs:

1) Scandal
2) Another One Bites The Dust
3) Hammer To Fall
4) Save Me
5) Under Pressure
6) Liar
7) Was It All Worth It
8) I Can't Live With You
9) Keep Yourself Alive
10) It's A Hard Life

Although, I do think that Freddie did have Starmer in mind when he penned this oft overlooked classic from way back in 1975:

Guide on how to fill out the government's survey about immigration reform and earned settlement, and hopefully putting a dent into the Boriswave.

Deadline is 12th February 2026.

Share with your friends and family if you think they'd be receptive.
Apologies for quoting myself. The deadline for the Home Office earned settlement survey is tomorrow. It's vital that you complete it and make your views known.

The survey is here:

A guide on how to best fill out the the survey to best the Boriswave is here:

Answer to your own conscience, of course, but take advantage of this survey. We only ever usually get a general election as the tool to signal that we all hate what the immigration system has become, and the last 20 years have shown us that GEs don't fucking work.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Manchester United owner, has reached peek fatigue and gone off on one about immigrants.

Link

Sir Keir Starmer has labelled comments about immigration made by billionaire Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe as "offensive and wrong".
Sir Jim, the founder of the INEOS chemicals group, told Sky News on Wednesday that the UK had been "colonised by immigrants" and suggested the prime minister was "too nice" to do "difficult things" to stabilise the country's economy.
In his rebuke on Wednesday evening, Sir Keir added that Britain was "a proud, tolerant and diverse country" and called on Sir Jim to apologise.
A spokesperson for No 10 also called on the businessman to apologise, saying the comments "play into the hands of those who want to divide our country".
Sir Jim told the broadcaster: "You can't have an economy with nine million people on benefits and huge levels of immigrants coming in."
He added: "I mean, the UK has been colonised. It's costing too much money.
"The UK has been colonised by immigrants, really, hasn't it? I mean, the population of the UK was 58 million in 2020, now it's 70 million. That's 12 million people."

Is the minimum annual salary to be considered for settled status really 12.5k? I cannot believe that, how can it be true?

Nothing makes me sadder than thinking of the edgy comedy that BBC3 used to put out in the early 00s before they immediately clipped off the wings of any edge and created the modern monotonous TV listings that are virtually unchanged today.

Can't even watch it on iPlayer. It's been completely depersoned.
I think that’s partly cause the creator got Closure and they ran into a shit ton of music licensing issues — when they released Season 1 on DVD almost all the songs had to be replaced with soundalikes — but yeah, there’s no chance in hell the BBC would ever do something even a quarter as edgy today. At least it’s been fully archived.

Another brilliant rant by Tom Walker, he's old-school Labour and can't hide his hate for Starmer.

The next P.M. needs to be Farmer Jim from Brassic.
Don't know who that is but I know another farmer who would do a bang-up job as PM...

Real shame the UK is too cold to grow a proper kiwifruit harvest... It just produces a sour, bitter crop of those.
So the four eyed rent boy loving pervert on the right paid the four eyed pedophile loving pervert on the left £55,000 of our money to leave office ?
Considering Starmer looks like Mandelson minus twenty years I'd say they're both pedos. They've both got the look.
Somewhere out there is someone intellectual enough that when they hear "Garibaldi" they think of the Italian revolutionary and general and not the biscuit. But I am not that person.
Well, I'm an American, so... does that count?

Of course, there's another Garibaldi that comes to mind and he's less of a revolutionary and more of a firebrand given the sick burns he likes to give out with his morning coffee.

As to biscuit talk, @Kier Starmer you were in the USA recently on a trip. What did you think of ours?
The first picture is the 'aberration of Ferndale' - outside the sacred Greggs of ALL places.
Have you tried being more racist there?

My annoyance at the new adaptation of Wuthering Heights continues. I have a fondness for this book even though everybody in it is terrible, because reasons, and it’s been wrecked by the director.

I give you this article solely for the pictures and trailer, and the line, ‘sensually gutting a pig’ which made me snort over my breakfast cereal. Oh and for this screenshot of someone interfering with a fish, from the trailer.

‘Fall in love again and again.’ Mmmmm! Romantic!
And I’m laughing, but I’m also pissed off because this book is a work of towering genius and an English literary classic and emerald fennel has turned it into 50 shades of t’grey. You could certainly have a somewhat raunchy adaptation but at least make it make sense. And take out whatever’s going on with tha fish …
