A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Let me guess, when she says it's bullying what she actually means is she said something dumb and people are merely pointing out what she said is dumb
Eni literally believes that she is the best England player ever.

Better than Sir Geoff Hurst, Martin Peters, Bobby Moore, Stanley Matthews, Alan Shearer, Wayne Rooney, David Beckham etc.

She achieved the square root of jack shit and only became famous for lying about Matthew Sampson (a former England Women's Manager) calling him a racist.

According to witnesses, the London stabber shouted 'alluh akbar' before stabbing. The suspect is believed to be a former pupil
A boy of 13 launched a stabbing rampage in a school on Tuesday, leaving two children fighting for their lives in a suspected terror attack.

In the middle of a classroom just before lunch, a teenager pulled out a knife and stabbed a 13-year-old boy in the neck and back while shouting 'Allahu Akbar', witnesses said.

Seconds later, a second boy aged 12 was knifed in front of screaming children at Kingsbury High School in Brent, north-west London.
I don't want to be :optimistic: but I think I'm Noticing a vibe shift with leftist commentators, mostly American but it will spread here. There's been a lot of discussion of how fare jumpers are being stopped and 'wow it really cleans up the stations'.

Rainbow'd you because nothing ever happens.

We sure as shit aren't going to get any kind of reaction out of the normies. Southport attack happens and everyone loses their shit. There have been a good few more stabbings since then and everyone seems to have become numb to it. The idea of Stab Kits being put into schools as an amazing new thing to be proud of is bizarre but it's the world we now live in I guess. I have no clue how this kind of thing isn't being taken as a wake up call by people.
I do live in what is effectively the middle of nowhere (jockland) so I suppose I can't comment on whats probably just part and parcel of living in a big city down in England these days.

The idea that the left will ever wake up to the rule of law and keeping scumbags out of places making those places better is laughable. They think we need to integrate schizos into every part of society so it can all be ruined so they don't feel left out.

Only when it happens to the rich and privileged will things start to happen.

Knew of somebody who lived in Ascot who was a pompous arse and laughed at 'the poors' getting their communities filled with Rapeystans. Now that his street has been colonised, the wind has left his sails.

PMQs today was fun. Badenoch straight-up accused Starmer of filling his personal staff with paedophile apologists. Davey said Starmer had a catastrophic lack of judgement, to which Starmer responded with an accusation of Davey being responsible for "austerity". As in him, personally, even though he was only a minor figure in the coalition government. Even the SNP are in on it. Usual bumbling gimme questions from the back benches. Badenig was really on form today. Worst Starmer could come back with is "muh partygate!" and "racism!"

Starmer reminds me of a bratty kid in school who caused trouble and then whined when he got told off - he's never had a smack on the arse (apart from Lord Alli when he's doing his 'Mr. Whippy') and has no idea of basic manners and decorum.

'It's never my fault, and I'm telling my Mammy on you!'

The adults are in charge? Really?

Speaking of sports, Eni Aluko (race grifter, famous for lying about a former coach and hating Ian Wright) is threatening to quit as a commentator because of 'bullying.'

She won't be missed, IMO.
I thought she’d quit because of “bullying” at least once already? Daft gal made a tweet people disagreed with, Joey Barton took the piss, and now she’s the patron saint of institutional racism in the U.K.

“Bullying! Bullying!” You’re an adult, lady. Tell said bully(ies) to fuck off, ignore him or her, and get on with your life. She’s starting to sound like Russell Greer, the way she goes on about being discriminated against all the time. She has to be the most unlikeable and unpopular commentator ever, and the majority of that dislike has come from her own actions of screaming about bullying and discrimination. I didn’t even know who she was until the Joey Barton thing (it’s a bloody disgrace that he was dragged to court over it, and sent down - so much for free speech.

As an aside, some Sudanese in Melbourne still stab each other because of tribal grudges, so if a butterfly flapped his wings, it might have been little Tutsi schoolgirls getting killed by Axel instead of native British ones.
There’s rival flavours of African nationalities regularly attacking each other in Sheffield too. A mini riot broke out a few years back when one of them got shot/stabbed/whatever by the opposing side. Then our governmental overlords wonder why regular people have had enough of foreigners.

I'm hoping some day in PMQ's that someone just declares Labour the pedo party and demands everyone be investigated.

I know who I'd put on the job:

Nothing makes me sadder than thinking of the edgy comedy that BBC3 used to put out in the early 00s before they immediately clipped off the wings of any edge and created the modern monotonous TV listings that are virtually unchanged today.

Can't even watch it on iPlayer. It's been completely depersoned.

It's because the Left know that they can make money out of being offended.

If they couldn't make even one penny out of the 'boo hoo, I'm sooo upset, waah!' racket then they'd soon quit, but as it is they can make money from things which aren't even offensive.

Even 'Trigger Warnings' are now offensive... no, I am not kidding.

Speaking of offensive:

NO - FUCKING - WAY

Simple solution:

Premier League - 3 down
Championship - 3 up, 3 down
League 1 - 3 up, 3 down
League 2 - 3 up, 3 down (yes, I do support the '3 Up' campaign)
National League - 3 up, 4 down (2 to National League North, 2 to National League South)

Also, National League play-offs to be:

2nd v 5th, 3rd v 4th and NOT include endless teams.

Badenoch asking Starmer if he ever looks in the mirror was kinda funny. Perhaps when we kick them all out we keep one black woman to be catty in PMQs.
Some independent Bham MP was complaining about all the rubbish on his road, which is true, but also the huWHYTES on my street have been planting trees and dug up mud on the road after the rain. The flytipping here is getting horrendous. When do we just start using prison labour to clean up the streets?

I once got stuck with an absolute fucking wanker of a lecturer at uni who insisted on using trigger warnings for the most inane shit so I started trolling her by suggesting that as a former veteran who was shot and wounded the phrase trigger warning was in fact triggering in itself. I think she eventually settled on calling them content warnings instead.

Counter Terrorism Police are investigating the attempted murder of two boys after they were stabbed at a school in London, but it has not been declared a terror incident. My take, he was known to anti terror but this act of violence was more 'chimping out' than any specific sociopolitical goal or aim or planning.
Update on the kid who stabbed two school kids:

former pupil, 13 years old, arrested at a nearby mosque.

I wonder if he is a former pupil because he was referred to PREVENT who removed him, or if his parents are on a watch list?

According to POLITICO, Labour MPs have been branded 'paedo lovers ''on their doorstep''. Which sounds like someone has spray-painted an office or door. This article is a great PMQs recap bringing up Starmers bright idea to appoint a female First Secretary of State- but how do Labour know what a woman is?- and some of Badenoch's jabs in the Commons.

Lowe is bringing forth a motion to investigate British girls being trafficked to Pakistan, as his inquiry as allegedly uncovered. MP Andrew Rosindell (Tory > Reform) has apparently supported it.
