A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

The Royal Mail deal collapsed in July 2009. Official reason? "Market conditions."



Real reason? Private Equity firm CVC Capital's £2 Billion offer was too low, Brussels threatened to challenge the Pension Liability write off , and Labour backbenchers made passage impossible.



When Royal Mail was finally floated in 2013, it was widely criticised as undervalued and a "fire sale"—costing taxpayers hundreds of Millions.



Advising the Goverment on this State Asset Sale and many others - Lazard Bank who Mandelson joined in 2011 as a 'Special Adviser' and went on to become Chair of their International arm.

This explains why Brown has been putting himself in front of every camera he could find. He's getting ahead of the story.
 
You have to wonder how long mandelson was passing information to foreign actors, as he had power starting at blair and running through tory/libs coalition, then the years of cameron, may, johnson, truss and sunak.
I bet sunak had some good financial sources to pass information to.

I'll put money on mandelson having a part in the ousting of johnson and truss.

He’s such a snake. He’s gone from party to party over the years. Just wants money and power.

Mind you, it certainly shows how international politics and business works. In that way, Mandelson is a scapegoat - because you know damn well he’s far from the only one doing “business” this way. Really makes you wonder why we bother voting, when these twats are just a little party amongst themselves and we can’t do anything about their decisions.

I really hope there’s enough information in those documents to charge Mandelson for the child abuse he’s implicated in. And again, he’s probably the scapegoat because how many more were involved - or still are? How many more at other places, with other big players? The UN, EU, Davos, all that shit? They’re above the law. I hate to think of children, or even young adults, suffering at the hands of these bastards.

You can search all the current PDFs directly on Justice website alternatively someone set up a thing called JMail, which puts all the emails in a GMail-esque GUI. Did a quick search and found what I'm pretty sure are some of the PDFs that correspond to the claims mentioned in your post:

It always amazes me that these sorts of things are simply just emails. Same as some of the other leaks and stuff like flight radar being able to track military flights. It just feels wrong. There are several layers to the Madelson scandal and I wish to state them because the media are not really questioning it.

1) His appointment and employment

Clearly, the machinations of McSweeney he is his protege. McSweeney has stakes in Mandelson's company Global Counsel. That company is CRAWLING with former Labour ministers/Blairites. So highly compromised. David Milliband was coined to be the US ambassador and had done the job before; he was quite well-liked. Rayner and MI5 had directly warned Starmer that hiring Mandy would be "catastrophic".

Exactly, his relationship with Epstein has been known for decades. There have been some strange occurrences where there have been signs of compromise.

A white pill, Mahmood will not last long either. Parties when a leader is changed, get an appetite for it, as she is going to be interim, but the Labour are now a party of chaos. There will not even be a honeymoon phase because of how dire everything is.

And @Otterly you may have forgotten about this but you made some post a week ago about being a bit depressed at seeing the constant "Foids are hoes, women be dumb" posting.

As an official, vetted, category 5 woman hater, you can honestly just mentally attach a "except for Ottery honestly, she's alright" to all of those posts. So it is decreed.
