A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

You've been to the Gurnos Estate then, congratulations.

@Duane Dibbley I'd be interested to hear your take on Independent candidates.

If all the others are so bad, then are Independents good or are they just as bad as the others?
To quote my message above:

Independents - full of pakis

There is a pro-islamic independent mp who wants full sharia law, gaza for palestine and death to whitey.
It's pakis from top to bottom.

As I've said before, this is how they take over an area; you get a bunch of pakis all representing different parties and whoever you vote for, you get a paki. Now they've taken the areas so your next choice of PM is like a bag of revels; loads of different flavours but they're all brown.

Fair enough, but then what is the answer?

If all parties are bad, do we vote for the least worst option and hope to try and change the system by moving the Overton Window and thereby begin to turn people against mass Muslim voting, or do we refuse to vote knowing that nothing good will come from voting whilst the status quo remains?

Voting? The time to vote was 40 years ago. The last time the vote mattered was the 90s.
Protest doesn't work because in 2002, 1 million people protested going to war in Iraq. Blair ignored them while gas-lighting them with false evidence about WMD's.

It's over. England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Western Europe. It's gone. It's over. Sure, you can say it's defeatist or deny it's happening, maybe even say pointless phrases like "stand and fight!". It's all noise.
For those who think they can fight, have you been in a war zone? Have you seen warfare with your own eyes? How about speaking to the Serbs, those Christians who stood up to the muslims who were slaughtering them.
You know what happened to them? NATO assisted the muslims in slaughtering them. Men, women, children, killed in the street for standing and fighting.

Ask those who lived in South Africa how they fight went. Or the farmers in Zimbabwe. Whites were slaughtered, a genocide aided by the international community.
Apartheid ended the year Sonic 3 (Sonic and Knuckles) came out. How does sarf afika look nowadays?

Reform aren't the first party to promise the world and lie. They're not the first party in the UK to do so. They are the first threat to the parties established by whitey a century ago (labour, Cons are older) and the threat is foreign and the choice is simple; assimilation or extinction.

What's the answer? Plan on getting out of the boiling pot, or hope that i'm just a crusty, bitter old racist fucking moron on a website.

Well, with respect, Reform UK haven't yet been elected as the Government of the UK and they shall be judged on what they do and what they achieve if elected.

I get that you have lost hope and that you feel 'fuck it, we're done' and that is entirely your right to feel that way. I'm not going to convince you that Reform UK is right and that if you don't vote for them that you're a 'cunt', a 'moron', a 'spastic' or any of the words I've been called by certain people here for not agreeing with them - I respect you and the others here, even those who've made it very clear that they're not prepared to listen to me because I won't let White people who commit vile crimes have a free pass.

You aren't a racist either, far from it (the real racists are the White Liberal 'Gatekeepers') and a lot of people feel that the UK is gone - that's why I put myself forward and said 'no, I'm getting involved and I'm backing what I feel is our only credible chance at reclaiming the country we have lost.' I've lost so-called friends over my stance, but I've gained more than I've lost and even on here I have people who've said 'I've got your back.'

I've got yours as well.

I'd run through a brick wall for those I give a shit about on here.

Reform UK may be shifting slightly left with a few things, such as the upcoming appointment of Luke Tryl (Environmental Spokesman for Boris in the early part of the decade), and yes I wish that they could do half of what the people in this thread want - sadly that isn't going to be possible in the first five years of being elected, as we'll have to get both the consent of Parliament and also fend off the bent Judges who will be keen to shoot down any legislation. We have to get it right and we can't afford any errors, because that will just let the scum parties back in.

I refuse to give up hope, until my dying breath - it's the only thing which keeps me going at times.

Anyway, Zia's thrown down the gauntlet to Zack:

There are a few woman I respect,
Well that’s very magnanimous of you, really it is.
But I though interrupting kid's education during term time was literally the worst crime imaginable, hence why they keep fining parents for it.
Ah you see it depends. Strikes? That benefits the unions so that’s fine. Closing down for fucking months during lockdowns? Also absolutely fine. Taking an eight year old Muslim lad out to get traumatised circumcised ? Well that’s just their culture. Taking a week during term time outside of exam season to visit family, explore a new language and see some interesting archeological sites? VERBOTEN! Fine them!

Mobilefagging: Mandelson resigns before he is fired over Epstein.
Govt allegedly concerned about riots in Crowborough this summer when they move the rest of the ''asylum seekers'' in

It's funny how its ALWAYS holiday as well. Smackheads who don't bring their kids in or don't get them dressed/fed at all don't hear a word from the fucking school, they get endless support and shite because they are difficult and likely violent. It's only taking the kids out for holiday- all these laws and rules and regulations only affect the middle class who go along with it and will bow down to punishment.

Good teachers are worth their weight in gold and I know they exist so this isn’t entirely a blanket condemnation… but Covid, and the teaching profession’s reaction to it, just killed any respect I had for them as a professional body.
Lockdowns destroyed people. They destroyed mental and physical health, and they destroyed whole parts of how society works. But that was just fine for them. It’s not about keeping kids in school, if it was they’d have kicked up a massive fuss about vulnerable kids no longer being in touch with with mandated reporters. It’s purely to bash anyone daring to take their kids out and do fun things with them. There should be an acceptance that outside of exam season, kids will do just fine if they miss a week of indoctrination to go see some menhirs

Back in my day if you got taken out of school a day or two early on half term for holiday you'd just pick up a worksheet or two or the photocopied textbook chapter to read and do the questions at the end of (and we'd have to do it on the plane or we wouldn't get plane pringles). I guess thats impossible for teachers to do now

Theres a very American insistence about the sanctity of teachers that has spread here imho (via social media, where else). Its become like nursing, policing, etc, for me, if you have to constantly scream about your WORTH and your VALUE i have to wonder how much you are really in it for the love of it and not the ass pats.

sanctity of teachers
I know good ones - someone I know is a pastoral lead at a city school and she was very concerned about the kids in her care during lockdowns. She had two kids attempt suicide during lockdowns .
There are kids who have such bad home lives that the only reason nobody beats them daily is that school will see the bruises. That brake was gone during Covid, and those kids were thrown to the wolves.
None of it is about well being of children, it’s purely about control, bending people to the will of the system. You will not make your own decisions or choices, and you will be happy.

I had a good friend who was a teacher, and she had to keep so many of her opinions to herself, was so burdened by restrictions and rules and reports... Even the good teachers are working in shackles.

Full disclosure, this was in the USA but the situation is prevalent throughout the West.

Okay, which one of you did this on X ?

The funniest part about all these 'businesses' (money laundering and drug dealing fronts) is that the police and local authorities can't do shit about them.
There's this one Paki vape shop near our area that's been in a never-ending cycle of getting raided by the police, being shuttered by a closure order for a few months for selling illegal cigarettes/vapes, then immediately reopening the moment the closure order ends. This has been going on for well over a year at this point, and shows no signs of ever stopping.

That would mean that the teachers would have to do more than the bare minimum, and heaven forbid they do that.

So much for the anti-muslim party that is supposedly going to mass deport browns and blacks.
Farage always cucks.

Bet you the refrain they'll wheel out is some variation of "most of the rioters are not local". Like, no shit they're not local. Neither are the people they're protesting against! Most of the people rioting in London a few years back weren't from around there either, but that never gets mentioned because they were the right sort of rioters.

Dan Norris, disgraced Labour MP, has been arrested again on suspicion of rape, sexual assault, voyeurism and upskirting.
[he] was initially arrested in April 2025 on suspicion of sexual offences against a girl (under the Sexual Offences Act 1956), rape (under the Sexual Offences Act 2003), child abduction and misconduct in a public office. Avon and Somerset police say they are no longer actively investigating any sexual offences against children, but the original rape and misconduct in a public office investigation is continuing. He has been further arrested on suspicion of rape against a second woman, sexual assault against a third woman, as well as voyeurism and upskirting against a number of women. All offences are alleged to have occurred between the 2000s and 2020s
Dirty fucker.

The Workers Party have now decided not to stand in Gorton and have implicitly endorsed the Greens ('Labour and Reform must lose').

Somebody with deep pockets must have paid off 'Gorgeous George' - oh well, the Muslims being told to vote for a white, blonde, blue eyed girl by a gay Jew will never not be hilarious and proves just who is in charge of the Islam vote.

Another by-election in North East Somerset and Hanham (was formerly the seat of Jacob Rees-Mogg, under a different name and boundary until 2024) is now very likely and it would be a Reform UK v Lib Dems scrap with that part of the country proving to be a good hunting ground for Ed Davey, but Reform UK will be hopeful of making it to double figures assuming the Gorton & Denton seat is won.

@Overly Serious I can understand Duane's frustration and whilst his language is spicy he has reason to use it - the Government wants a race war and therefore it is the real racist for stirring up the divide and stoking and fermenting the hate. They are racist against their own people who just want to live in peace and quiet and IMO they deserve Nuremberg type trials when they are removed.

Of all the cruel things you could have said to @Duane Dibbley , this is the lowest. How many comments does he have to make for you?

Thanks for having my back, Sergeant Glowie McFed.
Farage always cucks.
Ive been thinking about the comment you made a few weeks/months ago that Nige does a runner when it comes to taking the reins. I think you're right and if Reform are elected, he will step aside before walking into No10.

I might mention that to the main man on Thursday.

Sincerely, I doubt it, he wants to be PM but I believe he'll only do two years tops if elected as PM and then retire happy in the knowledge that the change back to a decent society has begun.

Thereafter it is likely to be Jenrick who is in charge and then after him... who knows.

Zia may or may not stand as an MP in the future, my gut is telling me he'll stay in place as Party Chairman as that's far less hassle for him. He prefers to work with Arron (Banks) and to get the party funded in full.
