A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

@Overly Serious made a salient point in the conspiracy thread that bread and circuses are never attacked/false-flagged, and they're right.

Planes, trains and automobiles scare people from travelling, which plays into globohomo green agenda.
Attacking a concert is inconsequential because music can be bought online.
Attacking a Christmas parade means more money to online shops and dismantles Christian gatherings, another globohomo agenda.

A big one would have to be something that plays into the agenda. Globohomo hate bonfire night as it creates icky C02, so that could be a target.
Football matches won't be hit, there's too much money at stake. (I hope)
 
At this point Starmer wants a civil war because he thinks he will sit on the ashes and the monarchy he despises will be gone. He does not have the foresight to predict that what happens to the most unpopular political leader in British history.

The truth is it will be Muslims going door to door killing Whites. It will be Ugoslavia 2.0, I do think America would deploy and come in though. That is the one thing that makes me optimistic. The issue then though the Muslims will be BTFO'd out the Western world pretty fast.

It's clear as fuck that the liberal elite of Europe are trying to run out the clock on Trump, figuring they'll get back to normal in three plus year. The British Transport Police were called at around 6.30pm about the alleged suspicious behaviour on a train from St Albans.
The service was stopped at London Bridge while officers carried out a full search of the train and platform as a precaution.

You know how people always say when you go in for an operation you will say the most fucked shit going without meaning to or even remembering? If I am never seen again assume I am in jail for calling the doctors pakis and jeets or something subconsciously. That or I'm dead because well we all know how skilled and trustworthy the nhs is. Honestly considering this country getting arrested for some anesthesia related 'hate' 'crime' is more of a worry than dying is. It's ok my gf is close enough to white that if I do get arrested or die the dog can just take my place. If I die during surgery in an undisclosed amount of time away from now then my cheese and feet pics collection I will leave in my will to that one autistic furry that runs the site or something. I'm sure half a block of cheap mouldy cheddar and a couple socks that smell the same will be more valuable than any financial donation.

The British people got sold downriver to appease the mighty gods of the GDP line lmao. I wonder if any members of the public would, if given the option between the highest levels of immigration in the history of ever in the UK or no tax cuts, choose the former over the latter lmao. This is why the Conservatives are true traitorous scum, far worse than any Corbynite, because they'll at least look you in the face and tell you that they want to bend you over a barrel, fuck every last penny out of you, pozload you, and you best not complain white cis-het bigot.

I think after asking every politician "what is a woman" the new question should be "Was Mohammed a pedophile?" and if they push back you can make it nicer with a hypothetical - "If it is true that he consummated the marriage with a girl who was under 14 years of age, and for some as young as 9, then what he did was morally wrong and he was a monster?"

The Lords belongs somewhere permanent of course, they is da lawds and all, but there is no reason why Parliament shouldn't return to it's roots as an itinerant institution. The country is full of great big grand old buildings, and having them pick up and shift every election cycle or so would do wonders to defeat the menace of LANDANcentism. Of course like all good ideas it'll never happen.
