A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

This is either the most brazen "fuck you" from the Government to the British people since William harried the North, or this is a sign of a state apparatus completely folding in on itself as the weight of AI integration and third world Indians who can't speak English (but I repeat myself) become the new civil servants. I don't know which is worse.

I have a family member who recently (ish) retired from work after many years working in the Courts.

They were employed by Serco. They have said that there is no way in hell this was a mistake.Serco is absolutely riddled with pakis, niggers and Muslims, all 100% sympathetic to illegal immigrants.

Obviously none of this is news to anyone here. However I find it insulting that Lammy is sai to be furious about this but also doesn't have the balls to make a statement about this.

Show's how far we've sunk when Group 4 ends up looking competent.

Who finds him first, cops or vigilantes? The hunt is on.
We have those? Vigilantes, i mean. I imagine any protesting in Epping is going to be ignored by the media to not fan the flames anymore because this is a major cock up.
Police are saying he boarded a 'London bound' train at 12:41, but the prison service only noticed/informed the police he was mistakenly let go at 12:57. That's the Liverpool Street station stopping at Shenfield and Stratford (do released prisoners get travel money or did he hop on without a ticket?). They are asking the public to help.
EDIT: Reports of protests at the Bell Hotel

I know this is more EU news but fuck it, Europe is just a collective bad comedy of bad decisions and corruption

They demand our suicidal empathy for them and yet when its their turn...

We're going on a wog hunt.
We're going to catch a big one.
What a beautiful day!
We're not scared.

G4S aren't much better - majority White staff at Parc (Bridgend), but useless.

Loads of dodgy guards who'll get drugs/vapes for Prisoners, plenty of 'Female Guard shagged inmate' stories, incidents of inmates running the wings and loads of deaths in custody.

Prison's aren't working - we need a better solution.

Serious/Capital Crimes should result in the Death Penalty

Crimes against properties or non-absolutely serious should mean that you work for the Government/Local Authority for five years helping them.

'There's shopping trollies and trash in the river - in you go, clean it out.'

This one really sickened me. Even his sentence seems lenient. 16 years? So he might be out when he's 31 years old?
No, hell be out way before then. Very few serve a full term. He will be out in his twenties.
All our local supermarkets have decided to stop selling fireworks. The line programmed into people is that nobody needs anything more than an organised display.

THE EPPING HOTEL SEX ATTACKER WAS MISTAKENLY FREED BY POLICE
Sorry. What? This isn't a fucking joke? I thought this was a 'we sent the paedophile into exile on a space station but we accidentally sent a child with him - this is the last thing we wanted to happen' situation.

You tell me if you think those people in Dublin are anything other than the type of people to find this guy.

Well yes. You’re safe, maybe but only in this segregated area. And don’t do that or wear that or say that.
I dont want to live in that world. I want to live in the world as it was before where I could go anywhere and be safe.
And as something of a parallel to that, I want to go back to a world where if I see someone harassing a woman or girl, I can intervene and the only thing I have to worry about is if the guy will or wont kick off, rather than the police arresting me for defending her.

So a Final Solution for the Prison Question?

Also, the “crimes against property not being serious” is thing some Common Purpose level faggotry. You treat them seriously and all crime goes down as you’re locking up the shitheads who do the serious stuff too.

Burglary is an example. The Guardian reader take is, well it’s just someone’s property, but we know that’s a crime people do as they work their way up to sexual assaults or even serial killing. It’s how they start getting their jollies and they work up to more personal crimes from that.

If community service worked then recidivism rates wouldn’t be through the roof with it.

Our issue is we don’t look at crime rationally. Repeat offenders are broken people who often escalate and if they refuse to be fixed they should be locked up away from up and strung up from a tree.

I know some people who had an extended holiday at His Majesty’s Pleasure. It took one prison sentence for the decent ones to change. The realised they fucked up and they had to make sure they went down a different path when the got out. They’re all self employed and doing well these days.

Those who didn’t change are absolute scum who got worse and one or two will be dying in prison, which is only a good thing and it would have been better if they got longer sentences sooner.

The alternative being that Labour, until the next GE, fund new Prisons and actually get serious instead of releasing rapey grapeys because there's no space behind bars?

That's not happening, and we know it.

I am well aware that theft, drugs etc. are bad and yes I would prefer them to be removed from society for a while - but I also believe that they need a way back in and that if you can rehabilitate prisoners then they can be of service.

As you've said, with some people you've met, the shock of going to prison changed them for the better and it's great that they turned their lives around. I too know of people who went behind bars - for drugs, theft and assault, sometimes more than once.

What we have is a broken society and system which doesn't help people. With the guy who was done for theft, he couldn't find work and so he turned to crime. It was only thanks to an outreach scheme that he turned his life around and moved on - yet, where was the help before he went behind bars?

It should never be a case that you have to hit rock bottom before you are allowed help.

I could forgive somebody if they stole from me, I could maybe have sympathy with somebody who takes drugs in order to block out memories of child abuse etc.

Rape, paedophilia, arson to endanger life, serious crimes against the country and premeditated murder I believe deserve no forgiveness.

Being burgled will fuck you mentally. The sense of violation is fucking awful.

No crime is victimless. This culture of letting small stuff slide, which started in the late 70s, where any old BS sob story was seen as an excuse, has directly led to where we are today.

Fuck him. Other people don’t have to turn to crime. He’s not a victim. We’ve got families who haven’t worked for generations happy with their gibbs and Sky Sports on a 70” telly, so why would that cunt be so special?

I grew up and dragged my self out of shitholes like were those people arr from, so did plenty of people who had it a hell of a lot worse than me. Do you know what we all have in common? We all refuse to be victims.
