A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Realistically if a woman is harassed on a train, as long as she's not sexually assaulted or beaten there's surprisingly little that can be done. Even if she is, there's typically horrific CCTV within the trains that can't directly prove anything. A woman would most likely need to be raped on a train for enough DNA evidence of a crime to work, and even then as we all know the police are super underfunded and a "it was consentual" can completely derail most rape investigations.

Plus there's the issue that a lot of uncomfortable things aren't actually illegal. It's completely legal to stare at someone for an entire train journey and follow them as long as you're walking roughly in the same direction. I'd genuinely rather get battered than have someone stalk me for an hour for absolutely no reason.

Overworked and run by bureaucrats, who have to have metrics on everything (legal requirements from various governments wanting to appear tough on crime), so they create quotas for arrests, fines, warnings, and a bunch of other rubbish. The beat bobbies fill them by harassing women on behalf of their tranny mates and arresting a dozen people for standing around outside a hotel, because that's easier and quicker than investigating actual crimes. The chiefs inspector gets lots of pretty statistics to put in their reports about how crime is falling and policing has improved, the government gets to crow about how they're making the country safer even while it's falling down around everyone's ears, and the bobbies get a performance bonus and to knock off early without being stabbed. Trebbles (and perverse incentives) all round!
 
Mental health workers accused Axel Rudakubana's headteacher of 'racial profiling' when she brought up concerns he was carrying a knife. She described his behaviour as "sinister" in an official document, but came under pressure to remove the word. "I was told my attitude towards risk around him was because I perceived him to be a black boy with a knife, they thought I was racially profiling him."
[NOTE: he WAS carrying a knife, she did not PERCEIVE him carrying a knife, he was known to be obsessed with knives. He had already been expelled from another school due to carrying knives. It's also interesting she believed he needed help and was somewhat sympathetic to him in trying to address his mental health issues, noting him to be 'very high risk' but was shut down by the mental health team. He has those dead shark eyes... but I guess helping him is racist? Even if the headteacher tried to frame his obvious issues as 'war trauma' from his parents committing genocide no one was going to stop this psycho murdering kids jfc]

15 year old Umar Khan who brutally murdered Harvey Willgoose in school ALSO had history of violence and an axe at home but was still allowed in school. The system really is protecting these brutes jfc. I don't think anything revealed in these inquiries will start another riot but none of this is good for TTK.

Welcome to just about every muslim country. The safe henhouse they create only serves to further justify violence against women who don't completely cooperate with it. Dude. She is riding the bus and she has uncovered shoulders. That clearly means that she means she wants us to gang-rape her. The irony of muslim safe spaces for women is that only really serve to constrain women and control women. And that illusion of safety always comes at the price of labeling other women as deserving whatever happens to them.

You bring in massive numbers of jeets and muslims. You get a world that operates by Jeet and muslim rules. People take culture and cultural rules like not assaulting any women on public transportation for granted. Many women openly vote for a world where their lives are going to be far worse than they are now.
 
Nothing will change until the majority of women break the conditioning of "MEN WANT TO RAPE US ALL AND ARE EVIL" to only ever be "BROWN MEN WANT TO RAPE US ALL AND ARE EVIL". The White Man literally created the concept of consent, Europeans literally designed an entire society almost entirely for the sake of defending women and children from dangers to raise families.
Too many times I'm trying to discuss these matters with female relatives, and I find them accusing all men of being like this, and I get quite upset at getting lumped in with somebody like Rudakabana and other subhuman rape/murder apes just because "men". Few things boil my piss more than being directly compared to a 70 IQ desert nigger who would fuck anything with a suitably vagina shaped hole when I'm trying to discuss the problems our country faces.

Every time I hear anybody make that argument I become certain that they should be forbidden from voting as they are too easily manipulated and are incapable of actually observing physical reality.

Then if this and the 'reasons' for doing this get leaked out, Starmer will take another hammering in the polls.

Even some of the 'Nigel knockers' on the socials are now saying 'it's easy to criticise Nigel for not taking part in PMQ's, but when our parties and their leaders/spokespeople get the same treatment from Starmer maybe they too should make their feelings known.'

Talking with a Plaid supporter earlier, we both agree that Labour have to go and go now.

I agree with the points made about Caerphilly - the MSM and establishment do not like their script not being strictly adhered to. Eluned Morgan is now trotting out the 'we will learn' cobblers line.

No, you won't Eluned and you never will - not until Plaid and Reform have wiped Labour out in Wales at Senedd and in the next GE. Labour deserve to get zero seats for what they have done.

This one really sickened me. Even his sentence seems lenient. 16 years? So he might be out when he's 31 years old? A fucking murderer. Imagine if Harvey was your son.

I had the conversation with the missus after this - I'm not sending my son to school with these apes. We'll find a way to send him to private, or if push comes to shove, move overseas.

I remain convinced that rudakubanas family arriving in the uk was dodgy, dodgy beyond the usual amount of dodginess. And that starmer was involved in some capacity.
At the time, Rwandan Facebook gossip was that the father was part of the RPF killing machines militia, and was doing some spying work.
I think, and it’s just my feeling, that his father was brought here as part of some sort of shady deal, which made Rwanda safer and the uk less so.
There was no trial, he pled guilty, and so no evidence has been surfaced. I also don’t think that’s an accident.
I remain convinced there is a LOT more to this story than we know, and that the family have been moved and protected by the state.

I give it 48 hours before Starmer goes on TV claiming that ID cards would have somehow prevented the rape ape from being released.
