A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Man how come this site has less retarded ddos protection than most of the internet. Fucking osa bullshit everything thinks that tor/vpn is just ddos or whatever. The amount of times I get blocked from a site because of that is insane. Not even stuck on captchas or anything anymore it's just hard blocked and shit like that. One autist with a grudge and somehow that produced a better service than the entire tech industry? The entire fucking thing is fill with autists and most of those are trannies so it's not like autist with a grudge is even anything special. I just want to watch a fucking youtube video I don't want to have to 'Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network.' and then f5 a minute later just to hope I am blessed with the mere opportunity to select fire hydrants. Yea we get it you want to spy on my location but fucking hell google and cloudflare are massive faggots. Crazy how they can just outright punish you for giving a shit about your privacy, or just for merely using the website anymore cough cough reddit.

NERD ALERT

Very interesting week for polling. We saw a huge amount of variance where Reform's lead was anywhere from 2 - 15 points in the past but in the past week or so, most pollsters are starting to reflect Reform's lead around the 10% - 15% mark. The key thing is that people don't seem to be returning to the Tories.

Even Survation are showing a 12% lead.

What is happening with YouGov?

Here's my little theory on YouGov. They harvest and pay people for filling out polls, it doesn't surprise me that a certain type of person (welfare recipients) are happy to do that. Just for your information, YouGov will pay you:

  • 5p per day for every credit card or bank account you let YouGov have access to (up to three accounts/15p per day. I like writing it as £0.05 because it really puts into perspective how cheap some people are)
  • £8 per month for all of your streaming data (YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Amazon etc...) through their own thing called YouGov Safe.
  • £1 per month if you use YouGov Pulse, their own VPN, which will track all of your Internet usage.
Ask yourself: what sort of person would actively whore themselves out to YouGov? Welfare sponges and coloureds.

Not only involved, he used the same bloody computer model. It predicted mass death on a scale never before seen and panicked the government into slaughtering as much of the national flock as they could get their hands on. I still have vivid memories of a vet stun-gunning panicked sheep on a giant pile of carcasses, which was then set ablaze even though they'd missed a few.
It gets worse. On top of any failures of the model itself you come to the issue of the implementation of that model. This isn't a few equations on a bit of paper you read by hand. This is a mess of random statistical bollocks generated by a computer program. It was demanded that he release the software used - it was after all publicly funded and forming the basis of government policy. He did not release it. After pressure, he agreed after some 'tidying up to make it understandable'. There then followed a crew of developers donated by Google who spent a month editing and fixing the code. Only this edited version was released to the public and even that was filled with flaws. It's on Github with a pile of unresolved issues to this day. God knows what the original version was but the model could be perfect (it ain't) and the results would still be screwed to Hell and back by the crappy software his undergrads cobbled together to run it. For anyone who knows code, just picture a giant tangled C script with with fuck-all planning or structure done by people who have never worked in industry and have never heard of a unit test either. Now you're getting it.

Non topic related, but the new Spitting Image: The Rest Is Bullshit is BRILLIANT!

Are you feeling okay? It references Lucy Connolly's prison sentence as deserved for "threatening to burn down hotels", characterises critics of mass immigration as being angry about the Norman Conquest... And casts Kemi Badenoch in a favourable light which is the last thing I expect of you of all people.

Why are they calling slingshots catapults?
Part of cracking down on Jewish terrorism. They saw what David did to Goliath with one and are worried next time a synagogue is attacked one of the innocent attackers might be hurt.
