A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

The damage caused afterwards is the sole fault of the media.
Let's be reasonable, it was not anyone's sole fault. The media didn't make the police go into fainting fits over tweets, the media didn't post that the far-right were carrying out acid attacks on Muslim women, the media didn't fabricate from whole cloth the claim that the protests, after slowly dying down since the weekend due to people being back in work (and sober), were going nationwide in huge, violent numbers midweek.

Some very slimy fuckers did a lot in the wake of things and the media is only one of those.

None of that would have spread without the media. The tweets, part of social media, were branded and bandied about as false narratives and incitements of hate. The coppers used the media to target soft targets because they wouldn't focus on the real issues.
Sky news were attacked by pakis, live on air, and the media, instead of asking for police help and pushing the government to do something, turned off the cameras and burried the story, just like they did with muslims hiding weapons in mosques.

I'm not condoning what the rioters did, but the truth would have been out, the people would have had their circus relief valve and would have looked at the resulting carnage in a more sensible manner. But no, the media had to go full "I can't breef because of mostly racist but fiery protests".

If the reports would have allowed to come out that he was a terrorist, a jihadist, he had changed his name and he was an evil shit, if the media had shone the spotlight on the muslim cockroaches that were inciting violence, most would have tutted, said how unbritish it was, how bad a light it paints those extremists in (not all muslims) and the general public wouldn't have looked back in anger and moved on.

The relief valve was slammed shut, the media spun up the people into a fury and selectively reported what was going on, demanding that people don't believe their lying eyes. That tactic, one of foreign origin, misunderstood the British, or understood the British perfectly, which resulted in the riots through either incompetence or malice.

On a side note, how did I do in buzzword bingo?

The media were complicit in Southport, and should face prosecution for their part in the 'divide and conquer' of society.

I can't help but wonder if the events which took place almost a year ago were arranged in some way, and that Axel was 'encouraged' to do this by dark and malevolent forces.

It's well known that he was a child actor who did 'jobs' for the BBC... did something take place on BBC or other premises which turned this 'Choirboy from Cardiff' into a mentally sick murdering piece of shit?

Should a similar event happen this summer, it'll be far worse. An angry population, very hot weather and more than a few pints of booze will not be a good combo.

As long as people remember to cover their faces completely so big brother can't identify them.

That and some better organzing (watching those mudslimes in action felt like seeing the gang version of a well-coordinated assault)

Penning one hell of a manifesto that may not be appreciated now, but will be an influence among future generations can certainly be a deciding factor at least.

Uncle Ted was bang on about how "the system" works, but the whole "technology bad" aspect is retarded, and does not mesh will with Britain's whole "satanic mills" heritage, sometimes you just wanna go full Mordor on a meadow know what I'm saying?

Covered or uncovered faces, this time around I think that the Police will panic and the call to bring in the Army may come about if the powers-that-be fear that 'it's gonna blow'.

I hope it doesn't, but with Nigel today voicing concerns about yet more cover-ups re: Muslim Rape Gangs and with the news that the Muslim Council for Britain is 'determined to win' then the tinderbox has already been prepared.

Will it go up like that bonfire in Northern Ireland... who knows.

Wasn't there a list of 150 towns where riots were going to happen and then a bunch of pakis came out singing and holding hands like a coke advert? Wasn't that put in the paper and not seen any where else?

I live in Norf FC and I'm seeing a lot of testy stuff. This morning on the bus a group of niggers help it up by dinging the bell to get off then S L O W L Y in their own sweet time ambling off of it. Older bloke made a comment, that they heard, about "lazy fucking darkies" being "incapable of doing anything quick except getting into a boat".

Snitty comments when mudslime women in facial coverings are becoming a thing I hear. Some kind of extremely dark nog was whining about the buses at bus station and a couple of teenagers told him " nobody made you come here, fuck off back if you're not happy".

There's a palpable sense of absolute hatred to non-natives at the moment and I think it's fantastic.

Whoever decided that hatred was a "negative" emotion? His last name was Shekelstein.

Hate, if channeled properly and utilized is really something. I quit smoking a few years back and a big motivator was the people I hate who smoke. To hate is to recognize something that really gets to you, and to want different or better.

It's a tool, not a weapon.

It's a common leftoid tactic, create fake social media posts advertising "right wing marches" , turn up to counter these "marches", and when nobody (or a handful of retards) turns up on the rightwing side they get to say "oooh look guys we outnumbered the fash!"

Exactly right, and they always think that they'll claim victory.

When it's tens or hundreds of thousands against them, however...

We also need to remember that the Left has split in three:

* Traditional Lefties/Liberals - oppose Tories and Reform UK but are okay to talk with and won't go ape-shit if you disagree with them.

* Far Left - hate both the 'Far Right' and the 'Starmer Right' of Labour. Potential to cause trouble, prefer action to typing passive aggressive tweets/posts online.

* Starmer Right/Progress Left - hate the 'Far Right' but also fear the angry Far Left. Narrative controllers/SJW morons who are all mouth and little action.

The latter are now increasingly worried about the Far Left doing something, because they believe that they control the narrative and if a group/faction cannot be controlled then this will worry them. They believe that only they can be the arbiters of society and only they can ever be fair and just.

They may be able to outflank the Right on protests, but not their own side or a faction who claims that they too are also 'Left' and once they lose control of the narrative then all is darkness for them.

Anyway some sad news concerning ELO's Jeff Lynne:

Traditional lefties are too few now. I genuinely miss having true friends whose politics are different to mine, with whom I can talk and discuss things.

We're poorer off because of IdPol. I'm a massive racist and far right but it's not my identity and I don't take genuine discussion as an attack on me personally. The left can't do that these days. Too immature.

Lefty birds still think us conspiracy nut right wingers are the bee's knees.

Farage is controlled opposition and his entire career shows it. He has had like a dozen cheap wins over the years he literally refused to take. He had a good 3 chances of a real shot at pushing his party and maybe even becoming PM and every time he went the opposite way.

Reform is just the latest of his grifts. He took it over exactly to stop people like Lowe from having power and pushing things to the actual right wing.

In a way the fact Labour is holding onto power so desperatly is a blessing for you brits. It is giving time for the actual opposition to form and making Farage's takeover of Reform explicit and obvious to everyone. The actual base of the party is evaporating right under him as people on the ground who joined to stop the boats move away from his false persona and he replaces it with yes men and approved opinions.

Restore is where things will get done. Do not fall for Reform, it is not gonna reform shit.

6-9 months before the next GE, labour will pull some stunts like lowering VAT or dropping taxes, then promise they will finish their mission to do X if they're voted in again. They'll get voted in again because people have gold fish memories.

Tale as old as time.

I know that Farage is a bastard but 'Split the vote more to some other new party' is probably just something that will keep the current bastards (whatever colour tie they're wearing this time round) in power.
