A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

That's not the point. I'm specifically referring to armed officers here.
Obviously you'd have to be a violent career criminal to steal one from a PC (thus making it OK) but you'd think they'd keep them under tighter lock and key considering how much they loathe the concept of self-defense and how much of a big liberal talking point "what if someone grabs it?" used to be in the US.

They are really badly trained and the firearms units have huge problems, if you read pages 190-201 of the Baroness Casey Review they explain how the met(London) units are run(or run themselves) and detail them buying random tomahawk axes and night vision goggles, attempting to buy camouflage wraps for cars. Any holster they have is going to be picked for looking cool over being functional.

They have been doing the same childish shit for 20+ years threatening to quit over everything but never doing it. They aren't about to leave the force in droves and the units are over subscribed with waiting lists of officers applying for transfers to get in.

They're right, for the wrong reasons.

What fuelled the fire of riots was the media running cover for the little nigger who killed the kids, refusing to acknowledge that akhmed had turned up with machettes to the vigil - the one starmer was chased off from. Combine that with how quick the plod were to arrest those guilty of online noticing; he had converted to islam, it was a terrorist attack, his parents were part of the rwandan genocide, he had been expelled from a school for knife crime and the family DID leave cardiff because of his ways.

If the media had not have run cover for a child murderer, if the police had arrested the pakis rioting at the same rate as the chavs chucking bins, if the politicians had called for calm and not banged up anyone for a spicy tweet, the riot would have either never started, or calmed down at 24 hours.

The blood of those girls is on the government and that niggers hands. The damage caused afterwards is the sole fault of the media.

A very interesting thing about this is how wet leftists like gloating about "Oh, you opposed Kneecap but support this?" yet don't seem to grasp that they don't want Kneecap to go to prison but they want people who do this to go to prison.

The reality is that we all know that despite the terrorism investigations, neither Bob Vylan or Kneecap are going to face any punishment other than a temporary career blip where festivals drop them because they're too risky. We've already proven that the police pick and choose targets so why would anyone expect that to stop now?

Lets just say that I fundamentally disagree with something that the UK is doing, I go through all the legal routes to gain a party that supports my goals and gets into power with a 90% majority.

To implement any of this I'd need to purge as follows: The courts, the House of Lords, the Civil Service, a good 80% of the police, human rights lawyers that work against the UK, social workers, the RNLI and God knows how much else.

The UK will never be overthrown by an anarchistic coup simply because they'd run out of bullets.

Penning one hell of a manifesto that may not be appreciated now, but will be an influence among future generations can certainly be a deciding factor at least.
