A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

The compassion angle is the one being pushed hard at the moment; it has incredibly deep and wide mindshare. Always the same stock arguments, usually some variation of "if it were you, you'd be doing everything you could to get here" or "if it were my kids, I'd be doing everything I could to bring them here", as if that somehow justifies flooding an alien population into a country that is already far, far beyond its carrying capacity. I hate it. So emotionally manipulative, especially coming from people who otherwise oppose immigration.

It’s beyond belief. Our own aren’t having kids because we’ve told not to have them if we can’t afford them. Then we are expected to intake hoards of African villages that are on meagre wages.

Emily Larter is extremely smug constantly going on about how Reform voters are stupid beause she can’t claim benefits anyway and they we don’t get immigration laws. Any financial issue is her own and not for us to worry about!! She won’t be a leech because on a spousal visa he partner won’t get benefits.

True for the spouses but she’s adopted one and plans to adopt the others to get around that. We know they are playing a long game. Her leech fella will still be leeching as before & still will offer us nothing. Inevitable when this African loser leaves her in the shit it will be our NHS and social workers picking up the tab to sort her shit out. Some of her African kids were already pulled out of school, because they are too retarded. So naturally they will also be a burden on us long term, too. Either works; Malik Kharles' claim to sayyidhood comes via the Idrisid branch (that "Spanish" princess was a Hammudid) which would work equally well as traditional Ashari or a more interesting Zayidi. I'd lean more Shiite because it would be funnier (pakis are 99% sunni).

Following on from a campaign in the Birmingham Mail, West Midlands Police publish a Child Sexual Exploitation Problem Profile (‘Problem Profile, Operation Protection’) with information from the region’s seven local authorities. It details how on-street grooming gangs and online grooming has ‘significant similarities’ with Rotherham. Of the 75 grooming suspects identified, a large proportion are from a Pakistani ethnic background (62%), 12% are White and 5% African Caribbean

Characteristics of Offending’ summarises the findings from a number of
papers which have reported on offender ethnicity in group-based child
sexual exploitation, typically as part of wider research in this space:
“a. CEOP (2011) undertook a data collection with police forces, children’s
services and specialist providers from the voluntary sector, looking at those
allegedly involved in ‘street grooming’ and CSE. Data was returned on
approximately 2,300 possible offenders, but approximately 1,100 were
excluded from analysis due to a lack of basic information. In the remaining
1,200 cases, ethnicity data was unknown for 38% of them. Where data was
available 30% of offenders were White, while 28% were Asian. Due to the
amount of missing data, both basic offender information and ethnicity
specifically, these figures should be treated with caution.

police data on CSE offenders (Berelowitz et al., 2015). Data was provided by
19 out of 43 police forces, showing nearly 4,000 offenders, 1,200 of whom

With the rest of the data it's blatantly presenting, I'm willing to play devil's advocate here and say that it's emphasis here on saying "no conclusive statements" is them arguing that you can't say whites commit the majority of child sexual abuse in the country because the data is obfuscating and shit and often times on purpose.
In the "recommendations" section, there's only two that I can see which'd help do something about the Muslims, and one that's actually mind boggling because I didn't realise it was the case before.
Recommendation 4: The government should make mandatory the collection of ethnicity and nationality data for all suspects in child sexual abuse and criminal exploitation cases and work with the police to improve the collection of ethnicity data for victims.

4 makes it so ethnic data is a mandatory collection, 10 might force people to confront the fact that, yeah, some cultures and religions are just inclined towards the rape and child sexual abuse and shouldn't be tolerated.
Recommendation 1: The law in England and Wales should be changed so adults who intentionally penetrate the vagina, anus or mouth of a child under 16 receive mandatory charges of rape.
This approach would mirror that taken in countries like France and reduce
uncertainty around consent. We recommend the consideration of a ‘Romeo and
Juliet clause’ to prevent criminalising teenagers in relationships with each other.

It's all so tiresome. The bottom line is that the government knew, the government still knows, the government won't stop it, and the government doesn't plan on stopping it. The only thing that would stop it, is people becoming violent. It's literally that simple. Our government is occupied - in the military sense - by people that hate us and want us dead and think it's at best annoying when our kids are raped, and at worst they think it's funny.

EDIT: I'm not retarded, we're not retarded, we don't need a government report to see what is obvious. This is just more smoke screening to try and convince the average person that there is a way out of this that doesn't end with everyone in government being put against a wall.

This one is bang on. Wolverhampton has by far the largest number of registered taxis, which operate all over the country, because they pretty much rubber-stamp any application they get. Every taxi used in the commission of child rape was probably registered in wolverhampton.

To avoid another edit. The government don't have the police to deal with this even if they wanted to - and they don't - because our police are infested with pakis. The government has made a specific effort to put in people that fit their ideological ideas into the police, and then sent them shooting up the chain. A lot of them get dinged and moved around because they are abusive, nasty perverts that do weird shit, but they still stay in the police. We have ethnic chain networks in our civil service, in our government body; and in our police forces.

If tomorrow I got into power, and the genie that did it made it so I couldn't just have the army round up people I wanted rounding up, I would still be unable to get shit done. Why? Because first I need to build a new government, a new civil service, a new police force, a new social worker body. I would need to wait at least two years while thousands of new people were trained, and then have them replace the ones in power currently. Then, and only then could I even begin to get started. If I didn't do that, the police wouldn't arrest them, the social workers wouldn't speak out against them, the courts wouldn't prosecute them, and the prisons wouldn't punish them. They will get away with this, and keep getting away with this until there is a parallel justice system put into place.
