A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

In an ideal world, Farage apologies, Lowe is brought back as Chairman to create a united policy and Reform finally fixes their identity crisis.

The really big fear I had from the start was that Farage didn't realise just how much anger there was with the UK population and only wanted to pressure Labour and the Tories into cutting migration, whereas they're currently polling at 35% and could be 40% by the Summer which could lead to a straight up majority win in an election.

Which checks out in a way, they've had to bus in potential MPs in tons of counties to ensure they physically have enough people to win elections but they're largely unvetted and capable of doing foot in mouth "Pakis out, nuff said" on Twitter instead of being smart and implementing drastic change without any aggravation. Reform on paper were 10 years away from getting into power (which by that point Farage probably wouldn't be the leader) and the sheer anger of everything has basically forced everyone to hurry up the process.

I'll say this though, there is a HUGE burning anger right now that is very right wing and if Reform try and fuck this up there's going to be riots like you've never seen before.
As a member of Reform UK, I won't miss Zia, but any chance of a Farage-Lowe friendship has gone.

Zia going will upset the wokes more so than the rank and file members - they're still reeling from yesterday and the newest MP asking 'that' question.

You're right in that the trajectory for Reform is going in one direction, and despite 'Lowe-gate' we've been relatively unscathed. I wish Rupert well, but I can see him standing down soon as he's already intimated that he wants to spend more time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

This is why I've mentioned the two words which, if I repeat them here, will result in a bombardment of rainbows - therefore I won't mention them this time around ;)

There's something afoot and change does smell as if it's in the air.

Honestly the fact Reform has hit the magic number in popularity polls has one distinct advantage, there's ZERO chance that they'll get banned as a political party as they've hit the magic threshold where banning it will cause riots.

Posted this in the Pics thread, but isn't it strange how this has come to be?

Is it:

1) Liverpool doesn't want another 'wanker at the wheel' moment
2) Communists/Mudslimes running/ruining the city don't want fags to have their party
3) Barclays and other previous sponsors have pulled out (ooeerr!)
4) Something else.

The fag parade cut Barclays as their sponsor as Barclays were following the government guidelines about tranny bathrooms. You don't magically come up with a sponsor as good as Barclays at short notice so the fag parade is cancelled because of tranny seething.

Couldn't happen in a more beautiful way.

It's worth bearing in mind that officers are also afraid to use force, as any use which picks up enough media attention or looks bad optically, regardless of its reasonableness in the circumstances, could lead to conviction. Though the police, through their unions and contractual guarantees, will be given paid leave during the investigation process, it's still a very lengthy process which can cause a lot of emotional distress, as first they will be suspended pending an investigation by an independent body, then if they are to be charged, they will likely be waiting up to two or three years until a crown court trial. Even if they are found not guilty at trial, the police force will then conduct an internal investigation into the matter, and the officer may lose their job regardless.

This process can ruin people, and I have witnessed firsthand the impact that this has on an individual and his family. It's fucked, and if it were me I would be shit scared to use any force too, as I wouldn't want to lose my job or have years of my life run through a shitty bureacratic machine that wants to ruin you.
Meanwhile, in the USA, everyone who isn't a nigger knows that fucking with the cops will get your ass tazed at a minimum and probably a beating thrown in for good measure when they decide your agony spasms from your electrocution mean you're still resisting and pile in on you.
Unexpected 40K reference. But then it sounds like giving birth on the NHS in this country is like something from 40K, so seems appropriate.
Only Space Marines get Dreadnoughts though. Women get to become Anchorites. An iron coffin with a bunch of silly decorations is way more fitting for the fairer sex than a utilitarian metal box on legs.

Yeah she’s right. The BMA (British medical association) and the GMC is effectively a guild system. They keep numbers low and that keeps pay up. Or kept it up, because it doesn’t look so good now after a few years of insane inflation and an infinite supply of ‘doctors’ from abroad. Some of whom are of course perfectly well trained and competent but an awful lot are not. Quite a few aren’t really even doctors. Why pay to train when you can hire from the third world ? As to how, they collude with the unis to keep the number of medical school places lower.
Up until a few years ago when the mass migration and inflation happened, doctors pay was insanely good.
Phds and mds used to be roughly the same sort of pay grade. While PhD pay was degraded along with everyone else’s from the seventies onwards, MDs wasn’t because of that guild type protection.. Fairly sure there’s a few articles online discussing this divergence, I remember reading about it quite a bit as a young academic being paid peanuts.
The bma has been taken over by hardcore leftists, so you can expect its ability to enact any useful kind of change for its members to stop fairly soon.
The USA is in a similar situation with the AMA, minus the mass replacement immigration. Its probably the only form of mass immigration we haven't yet gotten thanks to the AMA's efforts to maintain their monopoly on medical school accreditations.

Speaking of, remember the airport fight? That trial should finally be starting this year.
Two brothers have denied assaulting police officers in a fracas at Manchester Airport as they made their second appearance in court today.

Mohammed Fahir Amaaz, 20, and Muhammed Amaad, 25, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court over the incident at the airport's Terminal 2 on July 23, 2024.

Amaaz, 20, of Rochdale, Greater Manchester, is alleged to have assaulted PC Zachary Marsden and PC Lydia Ward, causing them actual bodily harm.

He is also accused of the assault of PC Ellie Cook in the same incident at the terminal's car park paystation.

Amaaz is further accused of the assault of Abdulkareem Ismaeil, a member of the public, said to have taken place earlier at a nearby Starbucks cafe.

Amaad, also from Rochdale, is also alleged to have assaulted PC Marsden, causing actual bodily harm.

This morning, both defendants appeared in court where they entered not guilty pleas. A trial, scheduled to last three weeks, has been fixed for June 30 at the same court.

The Honorary Recorder of Liverpool, Judge Andrew Menary KC, extended the defendants' unconditional bail.

It comes after their first appearance at Liverpool Magistrates' Court on January 16, during which they gave no indication of pleas and were also granted unconditional bail.

Prosecutor Angela Conlan told the court at that previous hearing that police were called after Amaaz allegedly headbutted and repeatedly punched Mr Ismael in a Starbucks cafe at Terminal 2.

Earlier the pair had arrived at the airport to collect their mother from an incoming flight.

Officers later located Amaaz and his brother at a car park paystation where the alleged violence against the officers is said to have taken place, the court heard.

Footage of the fracas was widely shared online at the time last year and sparked protests across the country.
The BBC failed to name the member of the public but the Mail was kind enough to do so.

I know we all have the right to a fair trial and legal counsel and all that but seriously. There's video footage. I can't imagine being a solicitor and having to stand up in court and defend those odious pakis and try and pretend that this wasn't assault.

I would say I hope the women and girl relatives of those parasites get a dose of cultural enrichment but odds are that it's someone from in their community so that wouldn't happen.

And even if they are found guilty and do get a custodial sentence then they'll be looked after by the Muslim gangs which run prisons these days.

I'm here at Euston Station and I see that they have a little video screen with a guy announcing the platform numbers in sign language.

What is the point of this screen? Can deaf people not just read the departure board like everyone else?

LiverPOOL’S CLOSED DUE TO AIDS.

Pride is pretty massive there and it’s family friendly. The council won’t want to pay for policing.

The Matthew’s Street Festival ran there for years and would bring people from all over the world too it and the council cancelled it to save money.

There’s not many Muslims in Liverpool. The council are just retarded.

The Russia Ukraine war proved one incredibly vital thing: In a war between two relatively even nations and a gentlemen's agreement not to use nukes, absolutely everything that has been learned over the past 50 or so years of warfare is redundant.

You don't need 10 of the most advanced fighter jets in the world, you need thousands of easy to build shitboxes that can be pushed through a military line to keep being pushed into circulation. More = better as there will be a LOT of things getting blown up, and we can't just keep buying another 10 of the most advanced jets in the galaxy that require 10 years to build if ever the going gets tough.

We are not prepared for any conventional modern war because our military is as much as a paper tiger as our police force, we're a good support unit for blasting Arabs from afar, but when it comes down to it some fucker would just drone attack the airstrip that's housing hundreds of billions worth of aircraft.
We basically have incredibly expensive raiding parties.

Would you really pick up a rifle to defend the UK in its current state though?
If we were getting invaded yes just for my and my family's survival. The King can bugger off and so can Parliament.

Don't forget people rioted and attacked the police station too. Inexplicably Labour didn't immediately shriek for all involved to be arrested and the police didn't stick crying officers on social media to talk about how awful the experience was.

Third place for Reform UK in Hamilton with 7088 votes, Labour won with 8559.

To think that a party which, only a few years ago, would have had no chance of finishing third have done just that and only less than 1500 separated us from winning - well, that's very good.

SNP in second with 7957 - not very good for them in the long run, Krankie has wrecked them.

There’s a thought experiment to be run whereby nobody who wants power is allowed anywhere near it, and the government is stocked by people between 45-70, cleanish criminal records, of sound character and judgement and who have had a couple of decades working a job and who are picked by lottery. Whitehall is scraped out like a gourd and replaced with AI.
It's the Isaac Asimov story, Franchise.

I think that was a wake up call for all police since I can't recall police stations ever being targeted in past riots. In Northern Ireland that shit is probably routine but nowhere else in the UK even during the London riots a few years ago.

I view the SNP the same way as UKIP / Brexit Party / Reform. Salmon like Farage was the face of the party until he got ousted and sturgeon sent some fat cunt to PMQ each week because she was too busy stealing money along with her husband.
Without another Alex Salmon or monumental cock up by labour I don't see SNP pulling numbers again in Scotland for the next few elections.
