A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Only deporting the illegals?
Those are pussy numbers.
Deport anyone who wears a burka or hijab. Deport anyone who visits a mosque to pray, or any Allah-enjoyers in general.
Then round up the vegans, soyboy hippies and chavs.
 
Here's what I'd do;

Ban Islam entirely, knock down every single mosque, even if it was a converted church, to send a message. Only whites are allowed to be MPs and checked for purity, if they are half black = NO! Bring back the death penalty, all pedos killed publicly via hanging, and murderers. Illegals to be shot outright, the airfare is not even worth it. They sacrifice their rights by illegally entering the country. Any country opposing will just be told to fuck off and I would trade sanction places like Albania, Syria or whatever stan shithole. Indians just outright told to fuck off and their nepo jobs routed.

NHS abolished and all private and arrange a means with means-tested insurance. If you have no job or have not made measurable contributions, then sorry Chenise, you can't pop out kids.

I would shrink London and abolish the borough system entirely, and it gets a flat-out fee for the budget, if you overspend, that's on yo,u and you will be investigated and criminally charged if there was gross overspend.

With the counties, they will be turned into provinces, and MPs are allocated by density of 200,000.

BBC abolished in both ways along with Ofcom. In terms of advertising it has to reflect our country so only white families, none of that race mixing shit.

With other races. countries of good standing, they are sent back and forced to surrender all their assets as a penalty for being illegal or legally sponging off us. Any dingy shot on sight, and soldiers are encouraged to "remove" survivors.

You'd think but in less than a month we've gone from all major parties bar Reform saying that Reform's policies are disgusting, racist and will wreck the economy... to Labour, Conservatives and Reform competing with each other over who will be the harshest on immigration.

Also Reeves is starting to come after ISA's she is retarded the banks use a ton of that for private investment. The banks want to merge stocks and shares ISAs into cash ISAs, which is good. The cunt though is issuing a mandate though on those stocks and shares can only be on British companies.
