A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

I am pretty much in this camp but the end goal is pretty retarded. At the moment our allies like Australia and the US are strongly against immigration (applying Trump winning) He is going to push the UK to isolationism or worst chumming up to China which will wreck our relationship forever even with emigration.

Now Muslims are more subservient geo-politically and I think Starmer's plan is to alienate the whites and blacks and push the muzzies. Refer to my previous post as most civil workers are white, black or Indian and Asian. If they are dead/fled then no one will fill them leading to a total collapse. In that collapse though he can push for policies that are even more totalitarian. The one thing I am curious of though is how he will shift the police to become a gestapo.

Australia has got no hope, no matter who they vote for, the Australian Government answers to the whims of the global orgs above them. Australia is still bringing in record levels of "refugees". Who also immediately get put on welfare, and told all the tricks. 😒

The only thing helping us ATM is Australia is so big, the enclaves are avoidable. But I suspect the Government will start trying to ratchet up tensions soon enough, like the UK.

Have you ever lived in Australia by chance? Many of the cities for best on 85 years have had entire enclaves of Turks, Greeks and Italians. In fact some of the cities there are nothing but multiple enclaves of diversity.

Americans abroad often congregate and occupy areas of real estate that are called enclaves as well. It is pretty common

I'm in Australia. But 105,000 refugees per month, every month, with most going straight to the welfare system, in a country with a population of 25 million. Is purposefully trying to destablize the society and drive national debt out the wazoo. Causing inflation.

They are crashing the system on purpose.

Where are you getting a figure of 1,260,000 refugees per year from?

They are beginning to infiltrate the City. DEI hires are becoming increasingly popular in some companies. My line of work requires a minimum of a good degree from a top university for an entry level position.

That used to be one of the good things about my work, the exclusivity, it generated like minded people with a common goal. I'd give it about a decade at the current rate of progress before infiltration is complete

Awwww. Working class hero.

It all makes sense now. Why you were so autistically off the mark and lacking any understanding of old-age pensions for women; you're a toffy-nosed, ivory-tower, cockney wanker :story:
You and your ilk are the ones that have been pushing this bullshit on the north and the working classes for decades, while getting high-on-your-own-supply of fart-huffing.

Well guess what, fucko, the "working class heros" who have had to deal with immigration may have had it tough and we've learned to become immunised to the hordes of pakis and niggers.
The slow trickle of wogs over decades has taught us to adapt to our changing surroundings; a few pakis move into an area? we know how long we have to move house. Workplace is becoming a BBC-loving lefty-fag shithole? we know what industry to move through.

But you, and your Londonite snotty tim-nice-but-dims? You're fucked. You won't get the slow rising tide flood of foreigners, you're getting a tidal-wave, a tsunami without warning. You think you've got ten years before you're replaced by Ahmed, Patel and Umbongo? Keep dreaming. At this rate, you're fucked by next Christmas, proper fucked.

Just like we did with Thatcher, the North will sing and dance, side by side with blacks and Indians while your ivory tower is pulled down and shit on. Enjoy the next 12 months because if you haven't packed your bags and fucked off to the Algarve by then, you'll be up against a wall. You won't get a firing squad, you'll get mass raped and stabbed by hordes of violent islam-enjoyers.

IDGAF how autistic or MATI this post sounds, because most haven't gone through what the "working class heros" have. I'm as giddy as a schoolgirl finally hearing confirmation that the snobs are about to be culturally enriched.

This isn't a grave, it's the future you chose :story::story::story:

They promise the arrivals will stop. You vote them in, the arrivals increase.
Thats not refugees. he was saying over a million refugees a year.

The figure of 100,000 per month is relating to immigration. Over half that is Student visa. The other near half are working visas. About 5,000 per month at the most are actual refugees. Refugees and immigration are not interchangeable terms.

You could not be more wrong about Boris Johnson I literally have no idea where you're getting this shit from except out of your arse. He is some of the oldest money in the land - his grandfather is James Fawcett, of the Yorkshire Fawcetts, who are pre-Norman aristocratic landowners. His family have owned / ruled a large chunk of country for nearly a thousand years; he is more blue blooded than the current germanic royal family by actual centuries.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boris_Johnson https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fawcett_family
This isn't even hidden information about him. He got popular by pretending to be one of the lads you could have a beer with, he is really pretty much the most reptilian you could possibly get. Even the Rothschilds did not gain influence until the 1760s. As other people have noted, the rioters were largely older working class white people / men - the same demographic who died the most during covid - and his actual quote on that at the time was 'let the bodies pile high' while he boozed it up.

https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/uk-pms-former-adviser-confirms-johnson-said-let-bodies-pile-high-2021-05-26/
People are absolutely right he knows what the right popular line to say now is though. He is good at that, but he is the most supreme liar and likely a sociopath. I really hope people see through him now but they never have before.

Jeremy Vine did an article about how his whole scatty bumbler persona is completely fake - https://www.spectator.co.uk/article/my-boris-johnson-story/
I'm self-promoting myself over here to make sure that all bongfarmers that don't know about bojo now know about bojo. & the other thread moves quickly & this might get lost. Way too many people believe that he's a good lad at heart.

I think its important the population increased by 2% just in one year and it seems to be going up faster

I'm also an Aussie (sorry for shitting up the Britbong thread, feel genuinely sorry for you guys. At least in our prison colony we get sunlight) and most of these people are also going to Sydney and Melbourne. Melbourne is full of Somalians and Asians (of the yellow variety) and lefties.

I was in Sydney in December and I felt like I was in the middle east. Just muzzies with their hijab wearing pet women everywhere. My youngest kid was so scared of them we had to leave him with family at the hotel while we took the others out and even they stayed close to us. These are kids used to the Abbo screaming and violence btw.

Both our countries are unbelievably fucked and I really don't know what the fix is apart from total -Fedpost- of politicians and globalism enablers.

In fairness, if vinegary vine told me the sky was blue, I'd have to double check.

I dunno, man, personally, I think expressing that it comes as something of a revelation to you that Boris Johnson is an obscenely wealthy member of the upper class is a bit like coming onto the forum and saying, "Hey guys, is it true that that Chris-chan fella's a bit weird? He seemed perfectly normal to me."

"You're so ignorant, but hold my beer so I can show you how ignorant I am buddy!"

The working class cannot afford to move away from places any more. There's no where they can go and the ones that could before mostly didn't because they had to rely on family to raise kids since they can't afford to pay someone to raise their kids. White flight always applied to the middle class unless you consider asking for a council house swap to be moving away from the problem. Any cheap housing there was has been bought up by the government or government aligned 'charities' who get cheap deals on everything to fill full of somalis.

How bad is abbo violence?

I'm not paying a sub to GB news but someone who has one would be helpful. They have a pay walled article claiming they were targeted at left wing protests.

I don't think expressing something is interesting even remotely implies that it is a revelation or news or even a contrarian point of view to the reader. It just means it's interesting. I thought it was a way of expressing thanks for a post that was...err.....interesting.
Creating a strawman type argument or deliberately misinterpreting a simple post of thanks, it kind of makes me think you're a little sore ( perhaps not as sore as somebody else ) over what to me was a harmless joke I made earlier.
It seems that the chip on your shoulder won't let you see the double standard you have. It's okay for you to joke about me working in the City ( which coincidentally was fine by me, I laughed when I read it ), but not okay for me to take the piss about working class back. Perhaps it's because I'm "punching down" that it seems to have touched a nerve.

I'm sorry, I think you're a little bit more emotionally invested in this discussion than I am.
