A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

To the person on the receiving end sure, but someone just waving around a set thinking they're badass has a high chance of self-injury.
Nun-chucks were banned because of the scene in Enter the Dragon where Bruce Lee does the nun-chuck move bit. That scene was cut from all future showings of the movie because, at the time, every kid wanted to be Bruce Lee.
What resulted was thousands of blunt-force injuries to skulls, limbs and bollocks. It was a public safety move, not a moral panic one.

Just buy one of those huge dildos made from Chinesium from Ann Summers. Perfectly legal in the UK because they're sex positive AND you can play Saints Row IRL as an improv weapon.
Just like in Lock, Stock and Two smoking barrels.

Gary Glitter has been refused parole on the grounds that he's an unrepentant nonce and everybody knows it: https://archive.ph/cLizT
The summary of the Parole Board panel's decision said: "It found on the evidence that at the time of the offending, and while he was on licence, Mr Gadd had a sexual interest in underage girls."
It said Gadd had not taken part in any programmes in prison to address his offending and continues to deny having a sexual interest in children.
The decision published by the Parole Board on Wednesday continued: "After considering the circumstances of his offending, the lack of progress made while in custody and on licence, and the other evidence presented at the hearing, the panel was not satisfied that release at this point would be safe for the protection of the public.

Via my job, I was personally acquainted with Abdul Ezedi for some time. He's retarded. Literally. He couldn't speak any English and given his mental faculties I doubt he can today. His first language is Dari, so I'd grab an Iranian or Dari-speaking Afghan to translate for him and they could barely communicate with him in his first language. The translator would just give me a funny look and shrug.

And yet he still managed to outwit the Metropolitan Police. There's no hope, is there?

It's London = Enemy Territory. If we go by ethnicity and religious metrics of the City, then the Metropolitan Police Force, if it weren't comprised of overeducated, limpwristed and arrogant university graduates and led by treasonous diversity hires (and middle-class white women), would be operating similarly to an occupational force a'la Coalition-era Iraq.

His fellow underprivileged economic refugees and first-generation British will give shelter to the bastard and maintain a wall of silence whilst the luvvies at the BBC and Media jump on and overreport the next -ism until this inconvenient event falls from the public consciousness.

But remember to vote! The Tories promise to only import 80% of Browns 'n Blacks compared to Starmer's Labour!

Literally the day after Sunak was mocking him during PMQs about doing U-Turns on basically every issue, Starmer is doing a U-Turn on another issue and is expected to cancel their stupid green energy investment pledge.

As ridiculous as that is I think for Ninja-censorship in Bongland I may actually be able to top it. In the TMNT movie there's a brief moment where Michealangelo pulls a string of sausages from a butcher's shop window and twirls them nun-chuck style. Yes, you guessed it - British board of censors cut it out from the UK release of the movie.

Because of course she fucking did.
I know we're never getting sentences for this slime but the fact is that had even a tenth of what has come out so far made it out before the SNP's new leader vote Scotland would have a completely different leader.
Article seems more outraged about her not filing £188 for the top ups properly than what she might have been saying on it. Such as it ever was. The local Liberal Democrat party in my area all set up Yahoo email addresses so they could talk without risking what they said turning up in Freedom of Information requests or legal requests. It was a fairly open secret and absolutely they regarded it as their privilege to do that and disregard the rules.

Rishi Sunak attacks Keir Starmer for linking trans jibe with Ghey case

Keir Starmer was "sad and wrong" to link a jibe about Labour's transgender position with the case of murdered transgender teen Brianna Ghey, Rishi Sunak has said.

Robustly defending himself, Mr Sunak said the Labour leader had demonstrated "the worst of politics".

He also declined to apologise to Brianna's family saying his words were "absolutely legitimate".

On Wednesday, the PM mocked Sir Keir for his stance on "defining a woman".

In response, the Labour leader strongly criticised Mr Sunak for making the comments on the day when Brianna's mum was in Parliament.

Brianna's dad told Sky News the PM's joke had been "degrading" and called for an apology.

Senior minister Penny Mordaunt suggested Mr Sunak should "reflect" on his actions.

The exchange that triggered the row took place in the House of Commons as Mr Sunak listed what he described as a number of Labour U-turns, accusing Sir Keir of changing his position on "defining a woman".

"Although in fairness, that was only 99% of a U-turn," he added.

Sir Keir replied: "Of all the weeks to say that, when Brianna's mother is in this chamber. Shame.

"Parading as a man of integrity when he's got absolutely no responsibility."

Speaking to reporters in Cornwall, Mr Sunak fiercely attacked the Labour leader for using Brianna's murder "to detract from the very separate and clear point I was making about Keir Starmer's proven track record of multiple U-turns on major policies, because he doesn't have a plan, I think is both sad and wrong, and it demonstrates the worst of politics."

He said he had "nothing but the most heartfelt sympathy for [Brianna's] entire family and friends".

Brianna's mother Esther was not in the public gallery for the exchange but arrived shortly afterwards.

Brianna's former headteacher Emma Mills had been with Esther Ghey during her visit to Parliament.

She told BBC Breakfast: "We came in late into the gallery and missed what was said, and I don't think she's really had time to look at the context and what exactly was said, and she wants a little bit of time to be able to do that today."

Asked about the comments on Thursday, Leader of the House Penny Mordaunt said Mr Sunak was a "good and caring man" adding: "I'm sure that he has reflected on things.

"And that is not just about Mr and Mrs Ghey, that he should reflect on, but I am sure he is also reflecting about people who are trans or who have trans loved ones and family, some of whom sit on these green benches.

"I hope the Leader of the Opposition will also reflect on his actions too.

"This government has been right to protect the safety and dignity of woman at each stage of doing so has sought to bring certainty and assurance to trans people.

"This government is also right to hold the opposition to account for its multiple inconsistencies and u-turns on its policy platform."

The thing about very small creatures is that they can either be docile little softies, or vicious, bitey bastards who latch on and won't let go. This particular manlet seems to be turning into the latter.

The Indian possibly slowed the rate of increase. The Tories cannot really say (as was supposedly said by party workers in some constituencies in the 60s or 70s: 'if you want a nigger for a neighbour, vote Labour.' Sunak (who apparently was joking at a dead teen troon and now has to apologise) and Starmer are on the same team essentially.

Rashid Sanook being surprisingly based for once. I don't really care what happens at the election, as long as Penny Mordaunt loses her seat I'll be happy.

I fail to see Sunaks jibe at Starmer could be consrued as an insult to Trans as a whole, or Brianna Ghey in particular. FFS, Esther Ghey wasn't even in the chamber when it was said.

A bit like her not checking what her daughter/son was posting and reading on Social Media. She obviously knew what Brianna was posting, but didn't appear to want to stop her doing so.

Now she wants to ban under 16's from Social Media, even though millions of kids use it without issue, mainly because a parent is monitoring what they see and post.

Mindfulness in action from these parents!

Achually...
The original TMNT was called teenage mutant hero turtles in the UK so they didn't promote ninjas to kids.

Also, nun chucks, still available UK late 00's.

You know this is the Farms, right? You don't have to refer to a boy as "her" unless you choose to.

I believe you'll find this is what I said earlier.

And I don't believe anybody has said they weren't. My mate hit me with a pair at school, I remember quite distinctly. And to think - he did this despite them renaming the cartoon. Unbelievable.

PMQs in a nutshell. It's always been less about policy and more a play to the peanut gallery, especially after cameras were allowed into the chamber. The "winner" is whoever grandstands and sneers the best.

A mate of mine got sent home from school for bringing in nunchucks (must have been around year 2000). Although to be fair that might be because the handles unscrewed to reveal massive blades lol

While I'm posting in here - does everyone remember the free childcare promised by Jeremy Cunt last year? I've been looking forward to it for the last 12 months, thinking it was going to reduce our nursery costs to basically zero.

Well, we've just been given new contracts by the nursery. Apparently for the gov funded hours the gov only pay the nursery £5 an hour. So in response they've raised the cost of the non-funded hours to compensate (from £7-something to more like £9/hr, just being vague to avoid doxing).

For us it shakes out at a saving of about £100 a month, but I know parents that put their kids in five days a week are actually going to be worse off as a result.

What a stupid fucking policy. Just give parents a tax break like the Nazis did in the 30s.
