A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

I make no judgement on whether Truss' ideas are sensible, but even if they are she didn't and doesn't have the political nous to put them into practice. The sort of things she wanted to do you can only do, from a political standpoint, when you are bulletproof.

If you want to compare Truss to Thatcher, Maggie had the political instinct to know that if she tried implementing her more radical ideas in '79 she would have been knocked over by the wets, who still controlled most of the party at that point. She didn't action her plan to take on the miners until after she won a landslide in 1983, because she understood that only then did she have the political capital necessary to wait out the strike.

Truss, on the other hand, barely won her leadership contest but then immediately starting acting like the result had been 80/20 and that all but a handful of MPs had supported her. If QEII hadn't keeled over on day 2 she would have been lucky to last a fortnight.
It depends which side of economics you believe as to whether her ideas are sensible. The fact that the universities have been infiltrated by Left leaning advocates for at least 30 years means the sort of measures Truss proposes are not en vogue. Your points about Truss being too extreme and going too far, too quickly and in spite of political sensibility are extremely valid. The fact she was vilified the way she was tells you all you need to know about the current bias within the media. Unfortunately, in this respect I think it would be extremely difficult for her to mount a political comeback as she is viewed as "Lettuce Liz" by the double digit IQ in the country ( which makes up 50% of the population ).

Having read some of her recent interviews, it does seem that she has learned some of her lessons. Unfortunately she also seems to be quite pessimistic about being able to change things for the better, highlighting several seemingly insurmountable barriers in the civil service and the judiciary. I sympathise greatly, as it will require an absolute iron will and the resolve to undo much of the constitutional changes by the devil Blair. The fact that many on the Right either don't see the need to do this, are unprepared to take on the task at hand, or are happy to fiddle while Rome burns, means we are now stuck in Socialist WEF hell. My optimistic side would hope that Truss could mentor somebody from behind the scenes that isn't scortched earth and this could be a route to victory. I am increasingly of the opinion that virtually any alternative is better than the current incumbents ( who are accelerationist to doomsday ), but only a right wing one that really changes the institutions will make the necessary alterations to give the country a chance of survival.

I don't disagree in any way. There will have to be very radical adjustments made very quickly to undo the damage done in all respects (economically, socially and legally). And the only way any government could make those changes is if it explicitly set out in its manifesto how it would do so and then won a large majority on the back of those promises.

A lot of conventions will have to be ripped up. Starting immediately, any such government would have to refuse to re-elect the Speaker and instead vote for one of their own, otherwise they run the risk of having the chair get in the way. And there will have to be a ready-to-use plan to abolish the Lords in case they decide to disregard the Salisbury Convention. And that just covers Parliamentary procedure, let alone getting the civil service to actually put the laws into action. It will need a lot of very sharp-minded and energetic people - the absolute bare minimum would be someone of Lowe's work ethic.

Is it true that Null has allowed T+H posters to view others' DMs and private messages? If that's the case, then britposters should delete anything that's dodgy in case MI6 feds, which are on this site, decide to have a snoop about.
No, this is for DMs that you are in.

P.S. You now see DMs in people's profiles. These DMs are DMs you can see. This is not leaking to the public.
(first he makes the navbar ugly now he fucking breaks the highlight replying for long posts mother fucker :dienull:)

@EddyRooney
Our system of "justice" is just greared towards everyone but the people it should be protecting ( and coincidentally, also paying for it ).
All about paying our dues to the people we hurt in the past, brother Eddy. Now, enjoy your fine kebab meal made with the freshest teen girls.

I do think Truss will make a comeback. I think if she explains it in a layman's way, she will get a lot more support. Hell, even Kwarteng was not that bad; he had ideas. We need a PM and a cabinet that are not ideologized but also qualified, this cabinet are retarded.
We all know what we need. The issue is everyone around them needs to not be able to be cucked by the apparatus.

I hope she does. She was our last greatest PM and a chance to dig ourselves out of the shit. She talks openly about how the banking cartel fucked her over because she went against the narrative.

Bollocks. We don’t have basements in the UK.
Darn right, that's a murder pit. Flipping American-English.

Meanwhile, in Greggs news
A man who defrauded a council out of £710,000 by posing as the manager of 32 branches of Greggs has been jailed for four years.

Aftab Baig, 47, of Paisley Road West, Glasgow, made fraudulent small business grant claims from Leeds City Council during the Covid pandemic in May 2020.

Baig, who had no links to Greggs, had claimed he was paid for the use of his bank account, but was found guilty in February of three counts of fraud.

Sentencing him at Leeds Crown Court on Tuesday, the Recorder of Leeds, Guy Kearl KC, said it was "a disgraceful attempt to deprive the government of monies which were in short supply at a time of extreme public anxiety and crisis".
He told Baig it had been a "sophisticated" fraud, stealing money that was "to help businesses remain afloat in times of national difficulty".

The court heard how the money had been set aside by the government to help small businesses with the impact of the Covid pandemic.

The court had heard that Baig contacted Leeds City Council pretending to be a group property manager at Greggs Head Office, asking for business rates numbers for Leeds branches, details which he claimed he could not access due to lockdown.

He then used the details to apply for rates relief amounting to £710,000, which was paid into a bank account associated with his catering business.

When the council realised the claims were fraudulent his bank account was frozen, but he had already moved £95,000 to separate accounts.

Baig was arrested at his address in Glasgow in July 2020 and about £16,000 in cash was found, as well as forged remittance slips which officers believed he was planning to use to try and persuade the bank to return the frozen money.

Judge Kearl told Baig it was clear to him that he was acting as part of a group which sought to benefit by defrauding the government at a time of national crisis.

He said Baig had no previous convictions and was a family man of good character, but there must be "a deterrence element to the sentence".

He told him he would be jailed for four years and would serve half, before being released on licence.

Further hearings would take place to recover money under the Proceeds of Crime Act, he said.

Kelly Ward, from the Crown Prosecution Service, said: "Baig took advantage of the difficult circumstances of the pandemic in 2020 to defraud the council out of taxpayers' money.

"Those who cheat the public purse are stealing funds which should rightly go towards services and the community, or in this case towards supporting small businesses through an extremely challenging time."
Bring back the stocks and let the public beat £710,000 of their money out of him

Am I really the only one here who doesn't wanna shove myself up lettuce lizzies salad? Come on guys I know she's blonde and not fat and not that old but come on.

Not all you just read it wrong, luv from the thread in question share wiv all ur frens xxx. An e-girl e-whored out her DMs for (a measly) $20 is all that happened.
As already said the only other thing that changed is that you can see DMs you are are already a part of in post histories now.

Name a more attractive female politician. I would lick liz's lettuce while she talked to me about economic policy. My cock would go off like dropping mentos in a bottle of pop.

And then carried out their promises after being elected.

Like what happened in Burgerland....
Or go the Blairite route and not declare them before the election, distract the public with bread and circuses and then make the changes needed to the agenda in such a way that the true magnitude of their signifance is only truly visible years afterwards.
In that respect I ( very begrudgingly ) respect the Devil and his advocates - their work was done in such a way that very few other than constitutional experts or people that really understood the insidious nature of the beast realised how consequential the changes made would be to this country's way of life. Much that once was is lost.
I don't know if there is anyone on the Right with the slight of hand to pull this off and undo the changes. I hope so, because things will go on getting worse until they do.

I wouldn't touch Vorders with Richard Whiteleys cock. While Parliament would struggle to muster a glamour calendar, Rosie Wrighting (Lab, Kettering) is quite lovely.
I would do things with that woman that would condemn a soul saved by Jesus himself personally is all I'm saying, as for your one;

What to even call this, "thousand SPAD stare"?

There's that Japanese censorship again.

In other news, the supreme court is supposed to rule on the legal definition of "woman" at around 9.45. The bbc is already working itself into a tizz about it. Odds are decent they'll take the bio essential side, and fuck over holyrood in the process, but we'll see.

Sky News is being weird too and are talking Dylan Mulvaney.

Are people going to start being normal again in the media when a bunch of Blairite judges say this shit is even too retarded for them?

The Muslims who pull the strings in the background will ensure women are women and men are men. They don't want to be slapping around a ninja only to find out it's a fag-in-a-rag.
