A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

If he wants to keep his place at the table, they'd say no. Reform is leading currently and will be for some time. I honestly think if Rupert Lowe were to lead them, they'd be even stronger because Lowe is more likable.
It's a strange thing, but nearly everybody who is a Reform supporter that I have met has either said they don't like Farage or, at most is someone who holds some position in the party and therefore must give the party line on him. I mean he must have supporters in the party, but none of the rank and file I've met seem to want him as leader.

What did/didn't Alex do to have his case escalated - what was the reason he wasn't deemed fit to pass on to Channel (Whatever the heck that is).

Basically Channel is totally worthless. It’s a programme that’s supposed to tap into community services (education, police, health, social care) to support and safeguard someone at risk of being drawn into terrorism. Completely voluntary!! I wonder if he wasn’t referred because they knew he/his family wouldn’t consent.

It’s the sort of problem a Foreign Secretary should think about though if he wasn’t a fat retarded basketball enjoying DEI hire who is clearly just a victim of socio-economic issues.
By the same token, the British are such a has-been joke of a power that i could see them washing their hands of the remaining overseas commitments so they can spend the savings on windmills and rapists.

OFC with typically British lack of foresight they decided to give the Chagos Islands to Seychelles instead of selling them to the Yanks. Boundless hubris, even in the hospice of empires.

I think there's an open question as to his skills as a no-shit leader as opposed to a political gadfly. The only thing UKIP accomplished was essentially blackmailing the Tories into doing something intelligent for a change, they never had to function as an actual political party- which is what Reform is developing into.

We had a perfect opportunity to side-step all of this angst by negotiating to join the European Economic Area and the EFTA. Access to the single market, without being bound inside the common customs border, or having to operate under the huge burden of the acquis, and with an independent voice on all of the international regulatory organisations that the EU is subordinate to (and at which member states cannot have an independent position). It would have taken thirty or forty years to fully untangle us from the EU, but taking that first step would have made the process inordinately easier.
We would have been far and away the largest economy in EFTA, and the other countries might not have appreciated that. Plus it's always been seen as a gateway to full EU membership, so it would change things if we were in it but explicitly rejected the EU.
Nice idea, but there's some practical issues with it.

Ah yes, Lucy "I'm evil, I did this" Letby, the great martyr of our time.
The amount of simping that's still going on for her shows how she was able to get away with it for so long.
Or maybe she was gaslit into thinking it was her fault for them dying, not that she murdered them.

After all, that's a private diary where you write down your thoughts/guilts. Doesn't mean it wasn't simply a failing maternity hospital, there were many deaths at that hospital.

FUCKING SUFFAH BBC!!!!!

That is amazing! 8% of their revenue was from USAID. They received about 3.23 million dollars, which was 8%, and we know that Disney is giving at least 120 million over a period of years. I imagine the Disney collaboration is a significant portion of their revenue if I estimate about 30%. They must be in a lot of debt considering they paid 87 million for that EastEnders set with a 20 million overspend. The thing is, the BBC put its debt in the government debt. No wonder they want to nickel and dime streamers now.

As for fucking knives being redesigned, the fuck?! It's a tool that dates back millennia. This is one of the most retarded things I have read in a while. Also, check out them throwing a terror charge to distract the public from other issues. You aren't that slick, Yvette and it settles nothing because it was terrorism.

How about the other Letby banger, "I killed them on purpose"? If only there was a name for the crime where you kill someone on purpose...
