A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Are these ‘extraordinary rendition’ cases you’re referring to? You realise there was less than a hundred of those over multiple years don’t you? We’re talking about millions going.
No, those are different; that is removing them from the country so you can do horrific things to them without much oversight or any chance of rescue. When you kick a door in and arrest someone - lets say because you think that they are holding guns for a guy that's been shooting at you, you have to keep them somewhere, you can't keep them on base, and you can't keep them with the locals. You have to detain them in governments - as in the local and theoretical national - prisons. They typically do not come back from these prisons because the local and national government are fucking animals. Close to 40'000 according to the UN (Gay) went into those prisons and did not come back. But we also forcibly displaced ~4 million people. Largely for their own safety, and also to disrupt cell structures, arms pathways, drug pathways etc.

Look at ‘far right fascist’ Meloni, who has been Italian PM for nearly four years and has barely managed to deport anybody. Claims to have stemmed the flow but has naturalised hundreds of thousands of previously illegal immigrants.

Look at the difficulty Trump, with a large mandate, has had with even basic bitch shit. Plenty of people previously ‘on board’ have pivoted to ‘yeah, I want less illegals but not like that’. This is another big issue that I’ll come to in a second.
I feel as though we're talking past each other at this point. Yes, in your scenario where the government exists in the superposition of being willing to deport people at gunpoint, and yet also not have any of the legal framework in place, it would end badly.

CS: This is farcical. They are not the zombies from WWZ. It is a fantasy what you have portrayed. People do in fact just wait to get rounded up.

No, it isn’t. What do you think riots and civil disturbance are? Now scale those up massively to match the stakes. Places in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Bradford - all the usual suspects - absolutely would violently resist the army arriving with the wagons, what are you going to do, shoot them? (Though we may all go: ‘Yes!’ It isn’t happening)

The army would move in, there would be ‘resistance’, some deaths would occur à la ICE in Minnesota and you’d then have a battle to maintain public appetite (this, too, brings me to the same big issue I’ll get to).
Yes we would actually shoot them if they resisted, but they aren't going to. ICE guys rock up and they arrest 1 or 2 people and then they let people rage against it, and the local government supports them in raging against it. This is not the same thing. You are conflating limited policing action with concerted relocation.

There’s been UK terrorist attacks just ‘because Quran’, never mind ‘they’re rounding everyone up, it’s the nazis, a fight for our lives’. Of course you’d be able to corral the elderly and some of the more docile fairly easily, but they absolutely have the numbers in many towns and cities to resist, hold out and cause problems for a long time, and the army doesn’t have the numbers required to break that without using lethal force.
Except that we absolutely would be able to corral the fighting age men with little issue. Do you genuinely think that the people living in Bradford are hardened Jihadis? That they have gone to training camps in Libya, and that they are used to living under occupation? We managed it in their own homeland, when they were being supplied by every other Muslim nation, trained and armed and supported internally.

Universities are one of the biggest industries in the UK, they’re completely captured, they’re ’resistance in waiting’. The NHS has a huge number of foreign employees and the adjacent white ones that consider them their ‘good browns’. Huge sections of both would come out for ‘the resistance’.

All this would come together to create disruption and ‘resistance cells’ that absolutely would use the methods I described if the level of force applied to them was proportional.

Your idea that they’ll all just resign themselves to their fate, that there’ll be no disruption to the process itself, and there’d be minimal forcible resistance is beyond fanciful.
Your idea that they would form resistance cells out of nothing, with no weapons, no support, no training and no equipment is retarded. Where are they getting their guns, their bombs? Where are they hiding, where are they training? Even in Afghanistan they had to fuck off to surrounding nations to train and arm, and we caught loads of them as they crossed back over. This idea of the 'instant terror cell, just add water' is absurd. These things take a lot of time, money, luck and external support to arrange; and even then they die. They die a lot.
CS: I get why this fantasy exists. You do not like the idea that if the government decided to liquidate you; you would let them. I am telling you, that you would.

I’m under no illusions as to my individual ability to resist ‘the government’, with their monopoly on the use of violence and ability to debank and unperson. Packs of niggers have certainly driven off armed police before though, because the arms are ultimately useless when they never use them, the groups needing removed have much greater community cohesion to resist being ‘liquidated’ than the fractured native population do.
They have easily exploited ethnic and religious lines, far more than what we exploited when we actively occupying their country. They have no external money flow to the scale they need, they have no way to get hold of large quantities of explosives or weapons, they have no institutional ability to disrupt efforts. You seem to think that their position is strong by dint of them, rather than strong by dint of the government tolerating them.
CS: You do not understand what Ireland was.

I know Ireland was very different, my point was that it’s very hard to ‘defeat’ a highly motivated enemy and they fall back on irregular warfare, guerilla tactics and civil disturbance if you have the advantage elsewhere.
Your point was wrong. Because again, you do not understand what Ireland was. It only existed because of longstanding supply lines, training pipelines, and a lot of money. It still barely made a dent in the UKs ability to actually enforce its will on Ireland; and only won through marching politicians through, and even then, even fucking then...Northern Ireland is still part of the UK! They didn't even get their stated goal, they eked out a compromise after near a hundred years of partisan fighting. Our operational goals in Afghanistan and Ireland, and everywhere else pretty much, is not forcible relocation. It was nation building; during this nation building we still forcibly relocated millions and killed hundreds of thousands. Comparing the two, misunderstands how partisan fighting actually achieves their goal. Their goal is to make it so unpleasant and costly to stop them from being the government, that we just leave. If we had decided to round up and kill every fighting age male in Afghanistan, then there would be no fighting age men in Afghanistan today, because we had complete freedom to go and do as we pleased. What we did not have, was the assurance that once we left an area, the locals would do as we say. If the goal is to remove the locals, that stops being a problem.

It’s interesting that your whole point rests on the British Army following the orders to deport, and doing so highly efficiently, with force if necessary, and then you mention the fact that they’re the ones bringing the boats safely here and releasing the animals onto the public. Do the people currently doing that need replacing then?
I have never refused an order before and I don't know anyone that has. Even when such orders have put them into actual, genuine danger of death for no need. The army and the navy does as it's told, because that is what it is made to do. Them following their orders to catch and release says quite literally nothing about how they would behave in any other scenario beyond 'they would probably do as they are told'. If we told them to shoot the boats, they'd do that as well. Because the military is professional.

CS: But removing people piecemeal quickly adds up, those people don't fight back because they do not want to believe that it is happening to them. You can remove entire populations with very little force. We know this, we have done this. It happens all the time.

Where does it happen all the time? China maybe, sort of. Where else is ‘removing entire populations with very little force’ all the time?
In terms of population removal? 24/7 365 in Africa. In terms of actual recognised genocide with minimal pushback? Darfur, Myanmar, the Tigray genocide are three that immediately spring to mind. Tigray especially since the civilian population are getting mass raped to death in camps and doing jack shit about it.

Once the first wave happens, the word is out and the resistance kicks in, we’ve seen this in America. The UK doesn’t have the framework in place for it’s own Gestapo and the intelligence agencies they do have are globalist-minded and captured.
The key issue I refer to above is that of the media. Before any of this could happen, the media would have to be dealt with, China/Russia style. The media controls the minds of the masses and the hysterical appeals to emotion if we got anywhere close to mass deportations would be insane. So if we want any of this to happen, we would have to figure out how that could occur. They control the narrative, the ‘state of play’, the ‘vibes’. They are anti-white and globalist-minded, literally global media companies. They must be brought to heel and filled with people on side, or it could never happen.
I agree, as I already said. You would need to put in the ground work already. You are jousting with windmills that I have not assembled. You have this idea that I am saying we should send in the army en masse and begin dragging everyone out, while filming tiktoks about it. That is not what I am saying. I am saying we do what we did over there, over here; and then instead of just moving them 20km up the road to a different dusty shithole, we put them in an internment centre, and dump them into whatever nation will take them - or can't stop us from putting them there.

It's because the Right has shit to do. We regard politics as a necessary evil to be done with so we can get back to doing useful stuff. And the Left regards it as end in itself.
If there's one thing I may never forgive the Left wing parties in this country for it's for destroying Left wing policies.
I won't powerlevel by revealing exactly where I'm based, other to say it's not Havering (who are welcome to leave London and rejoin Essex as they keep making noise about it) and it's not Tower Hamlets (gutted that Aspire have clung on there).
At this point Tower Hamlets is Aspire until something more corrupt comes along. It's the least surprising result in this entire run of elections.

@Pat Mustard posted the tweet about it earlier, here's a news article of the students calling their teachers histrionic children over their strikes. The banners those teachers are flourishing show Stand Up To Racism are involved on the teacher's side.
Teenage girls have taken to the streets to confront their striking teachers.
About 130 pupils and parents at Connaught School for Girls in Leytonstone, east London, have begun holding counter-protests to demand an end to “unreasonable” industrial action.
Video shared online revealed the moment dozens of teenagers shouted back at their striking teachers, telling them: “Teach us or quit.”
Parents at the school told The Telegraph that up to 80 students were being taught together in the assembly hall by one teacher, after most staff walked out three weeks ago. They are now expected to strike until June.
Alia Khan, 43, and Angela Tranter, 39, who have teenage daughters at the school, said that students had reached breaking point after far-left strike action, which has taken place during the past 14 years.
Ms Tranter, a fashion designer whose daughter Jasmine is in Year 10, said: “They just want to learn. This is the most horrible thing. They’re begging to be taught.”

They said the issues union members appeared to be protesting against – which range from the war in Gaza to claims of “victimisation” and poor working conditions – had “absolutely nothing to do with these girls”.
“It sounds like my view is harsh, but I do not say this lightly: if you have been striking since 2012 and it is still not working, maybe this is not the place for you to teach,” she added.
“That is why I came up with the motto, ‘teach or quit’. It is not something you would normally say to teachers on strike, but enough is enough after this many years.”
After years of disruption, parents and pupils say they have been forced to picket the teachers’ own lines. They have launched a campaign group, Stand With Our Girls, and are urging striking staff to end the walkouts or leave the school.
Ms Khan and Ms Tranter said they were in favour of “teachers sticking up for their rights”, but it was a step too far when teachers announced they would go on strike again, beginning on April 21, just before Year 11 started their GCSEs.
Ms Tranter said she was “devastated” for the students at her daughter’s school.
She said: “You’ve got the head of English, head of maths and head of science, all on strike, along with most of the departments.
“And it is a credit to the school that they are still being taught. They’re all in the hall, maybe three classes together, so 60-odd pupils and one teacher.
“We spoke to the teacher, and she said, ‘I’m so proud of the girls because their behaviour has been amazing. I’ve been able to teach 60-80 kids at a time’.”

Connaught School for Girls, a single-sex secondary in Leytonstone, teaches about 636 girls aged 11 to 16 and was rated “Good” at its last Ofsted inspection.
The parents began to hold counter-protests against the teachers’ strike on Tuesday after trying every other avenue to get support.
They had already approached Stella Creasy, their local Labour MP, and contacted the council, the Department of Education and Ofsted.
“We started on Tuesday and by Friday there were about 120 to 130 pupils there, along with around 15, maybe 20 parents,” Ms Tranter added.
At 8am each morning, pupils in school uniform gathered opposite striking teachers, supported by dozens of parents. They held cardboard signs reading: “Teach or Leave”, “Nice Day Off?”, “Don’t Pause Our Futures” and “Don’t Strike Out Our Future”.
The parents created accounts under the slogan “Stand With Our Girls” on Instagram and TikTok to share footage of their demonstration.
One video, filmed on Friday, shows pupils and parents facing striking staff carrying Unison and Unite flags. Some of the union protesters are wearing keffiyeh scarves, and another is wrapped in a Palestinian flag.

Since strike action began again, the picket lines that form outside the school each morning have been infiltrated by members of the Socialist Workers Party, and activists campaigning about Palestine.
Ms Tranter, who described herself as “a working-class lass from up North,” said she would “usually associate strike action with making a real difference to yourself, to your job, this just does not feel like that at all, this feels weaponised”.
She said that it was when she began to speak to union members protesting at the gates that she realised “something wasn’t right”.
“The things they were saying were really odd. They didn’t have a direction. It sounded to me like a union jargon,” she said.
“They just kept repeating it to me, and I kept saying, ‘What are you talking about? Your children do not even go here. You are not even a teacher here! Then they get dead defensive and, honestly, it just sounded like drivel.’”
She added: “One of the girls said: ‘Why have you got the Palestine flag on?’ And one woman got really offended and started barking at her. And Alia even then said, ‘What you are protesting there has got absolutely nothing to do with these girls. These girls are asking you to come back in and teach them because they have got GCSEs.’”
Both mothers describe the senior leadership team at the school as “fantastic”, but say they are being undermined by a significant number of teachers. “The head’s hands are tied. He is trying his best,” Ms Tranter said.

‘Turning their backs on students’

Footage shared online showed the moment a Year 10 girl read out a speech to a crowd of 100 students and the striking teachers who appeared to sneer and turn their backs.
Ms Tranter told how: “They said, ‘We’ve made our own speeches. Can we read them out?’ We said, ‘Yes, no problem. Come to the front and read them out.’ You can imagine it: more than 100 girls, completely silent, listening.”
“These girls spoke, one after another. If you had seen the way the teachers behaved towards them, I could not believe it. I have never seen anything like it.
“They were turning their backs, talking among themselves and laughing. One Spanish teacher was sneering.
“It takes a lot to stand up in front of everyone like that.”
In the video posted to Instagram, teachers appear to turn their backs on pupils speaking through a megaphone, while one member of staff slowly claps sarcastically.
In the footage, one pupil addresses one teacher directly, saying: “Mr Phillips, she’s talking to you and your people, and you’re not even listening! You’re talking over her. It takes guts to talk in front of you guys!”
Kitty Rae-Chambers, a Year 10 pupil, can then be heard addressing the strikers: “The fact that you are doing this during people’s GCSE and mock [exam] times makes us think you have no sympathy or consideration toward your students.”
In her speech, Ms Rae-Chambers asked: “Why is politics brought up during a school strike?”
She added: “Schools and teachers shouldn’t be influencing children’s belief in that way, and should be able to make up their own mind. We live in a democratic society, within [which] you vote for whomever you want.”
Ms Tranter said the video “does not capture fully quite how ignorant [the teachers] were. A young child was speaking to them, and the head of science, head of maths and head of English had their backs completely turned to the kids. It was really horrible.”
She claimed that after hearing the children speak, the teachers extended their strike.
“These teachers strike for three days and then, even after hearing the children speak, they extend the strikes for another four weeks. I think they’ve actually now decided they want to carry on all the way until the end of June. They just don’t care,” Ms Tranter said.

Ms Khan, a social worker whose daughter Imaan is also in Year 10, added: “It has come to the point where you have to ask: how long can this continue? How long can you carry on protesting when, each year, you are ruining these girls’ lives?
“They are not getting the best educational outcome because you have stopped educating them. They already come from a deprived background, and then you have taken away the one thing they can use to get out of that.
“Is it on purpose? Because you have done it every single year.”
She accused teachers of putting politics above girls’ educations, adding: “It is because the people put in those jobs have chosen their own political stance above what the girls want, even though it is ultimately counterproductive to the pupils’ futures.”
A National Education Union spokesman told The Telegraph: “NEU members are on strike at Connaught School due to the threat of compulsory redundancies and unmanageable workloads. We believe the dire state of school funding lies behind this. Parents will agree that schools need more money to provide the excellent education all children deserve.”
Alex Silk, the headteacher at Connaught School for Girls, wrote to parents and teachers on April 13, notifying them of the intended strike action.
“It is with a heavy heart that I once again find myself writing to parents and carers regarding proposed industrial action affecting the school,” he wrote.
The headteacher said: “I know that repeated uncertainty and disruption is deeply frustrating for families, and I share that frustration.
“Please be assured that every decision being taken by the school and governing body is guided by what is necessary to protect the long-term stability of Connaught and to ensure that our students continue to receive the high-quality education they deserve.”

I've long been of the opinion that any of the racewar fantasies people have would end up more like the Yugoslav wars than your Warsaw ghetto clearing fanfiction.

There would be a small military taking part but much of the forces would be made up up local paramilitaries based around ethnicity. These are the cunts which are going to be forming deathsquads and executing people on mass. The British Army would probably be focused on dealing with any organised forces rather than doing warcrimes.

The main issue in this wankfiction would be each side staying supplied. There are nowhere near enough firearms in the UK for a large scale civil war in the way your thinking and most of what we do have is in the hands of the Armed Forces. This means you'd either need to build more here or import them IRA Yugoslavia style.

Sandniggers are too retarded to become gun smiths on any scale big enough to make an impact so they be stuck trying to stab you with a B&M machete.

You bet your ass though that if the UK gov did a heckin based ethnic cleansing it would become a pariah to the rest of europe and get embargo'd meaning no imported weapons.

Over all it would develop like two rough sides seperated on ethnic grounds trying to genocide each other with whatever's lying around. In other words exactly what happned in Yugoslavia minus the large stockpiles of cold war weapons, land borders to smuggle weapons over and NATO bombing campaign (maybe).

Overall if I was a sandnigger I wouldn't bother with the time and effort of fighting and dying like Oliver Cromwells still kicking for some miserable wet island.

All it would take would be a few large scale hate crimes to show we need buisness and they'd start leaving

So how long will it be before Farage drives Reform straight into the fucking ground now that it is moderately sucessful like every other political party he somehow becomes leader of?
About three months ago if I remember correctly.
A lot of the illegals are trained warriors physically and mentally stronger than any Brit.
Mate they're all fucking inbred retards that if you gave them a gun they'd end up shooting themselves or their own side by mistake. Just look at the actual war on terror. There was a fucking 10:1 fatality rate because pakis are just brown russians. They're globs of meat that gets given a gun and just hope that the retarded spraying of bullets will hit something. They're not sending their warriors. They're sending their rapists and economic parasites. If they were sending warriors we would have declared it as a terrorist invasion and shot them all. Parasites are worse in the long run.
Look at what happened in Ireland, a load of rowdy Paddies with Libyan guns and homemade bombs, ‘won’.
The provos won because they had a reason to fight. The IRA won because they were willing to die to free Ireland. Not all of the browns are fucking suicide bomber terrorists, all of those people are brown but not all browns are. Most of the retards that have come here have done so to leech off of our social systems, start shooting at them and they'll fuck off to whichever other country has the next best system to leech off of. They're not coming here for their 72 virgins, they're coming here for a free iphone. And yes look what happened in Ireland. All those people that were driven by an intense nationalistic pride and desire to drive out invaders. You tell people they can sign up to the army specifically to shoot brown people? It's retarded to act like they're the same but look at America and the recruitment numbers for ice agents recently.

Look at the difficulty Trump, with a large mandate, has had with even basic bitch shit. Plenty of people previously ‘on board’ have pivoted to ‘yeah, I want less illegals but not like that’.

Do you really believe that there are plenty of of people who feel like that? There are plenty of X posters who post that, sure, but they're mostly Indians in India or Americans with political ambitions at odds with MAGA who want to create that narrative.

Most Trump supporters who want less illegals are pissed off at how slowly it's going. They want far more wide scale round ups and deportations, they want protestors arrested and actually jailed, they want Trump to stop engaging with the judges that keep trying to stop his orders. Overall, the complaints about Trump from his voter base, are about him getting involved with Iran instead of going faster and harder against illegals, and him being far too soft on legal immigration.

There’s a country that has 40% of the world’s firearms and the holders tend to overwhelmingly support native Brits. You really think an embargo will stop these imports?

Absolutely, I can see all these happening internally. The problem is the following;
  1. Khan - Would be like a weird Truss effect, where the core state would panic. Khan is just as despised as Keith; the councils in London have stripped him of much of his power, largely because they hate him. On top of that, Khan would spook the fuck out of the financiers; also, internationally, he would do poorly, especially with Europe essentially fracturing too. France and Spain will suck his dick, but the others will hate him.
Khan is loved by the progressives, and more importantly, the muslim block. He didn't pray with screaming aj-abs in the centre of London for nothing. That was him showing who he is willing to serve.
Lord Ali runs the labour party, a fellow paki.
I wouldn't put it past khan to take a stance on immigration by targeting indians, his most sworn enemy.
  1. Reyner and Burnham - will spook the markets, and any business left in the country that can flee will leave.
I agree, neither are fit to run a pop n crisp party, let alone the labour party.
  1. Sheboon is too hated by the far left of the party.
Appointing Brown and Harman is insane; they are both hated.
Brown and Harman are Blairite-era handlers. He hasn't drafted them in, they've been sent in. Similar to when an MD is visited by the CEO's cronies and bean-counters to ensure he starts making the correct decisions, shortly before deciding to put his notice in.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought this.

Big Ange has put out a statement demanding that Burnham be allowed to stand as a candidate for Parliament - it has been reported by several journalists that an MP is ready to resign their seat to facilitate his return. The 'orderly transition' mood music is being largely driven by those MPs who want Burnham and therefore want to delay any change of leadership until he can be anointed.

Which means that if anyone else wants the job - looking at you, Wesley - they have to move tomorrow.

Labour should be nervous of a by-election literally anywhere. Where are their safe seats these days?

The UK govt. introduced a program to give young Nigerian men British citizenship in exchange for joining the army. I think regardless of both your points (and I do think you're slightly talking past each other), the absolute ability to enact what you're both talking about is trending downwards. That much I think is fairly certain.

And earlier you made a comment about universities which I think shouldn't be overlooked. During large scale unrest in Greek way back, various people wanted by the police found shelters in the Greek universities like they were claiming sanctuary in a church in Medieval times. Not that I'm arguing modern university professors and students could defeat armed police and soldiers in terms of brute force. But I wouldn't be surprised if we saw something similar to Greece with student barricades and the difficult optics of whether or not to launch the tear gas grenades into a halls of residence.

(Inb4 half this thread says "tear gas?")

I will not lie I would laugh myself shitless if someone defected for Saint Burnham to ascend and save the day and he lost the election. It would be absolute perfection.

Speaking of funny/

"Independents" in Oldham is Muslim independents, meaning now the ward is Labour largest but not the majority with Reform and the Muslims nipping at their heels. Given this election Reform picked up Labour and Conservative votes the sane response would be to side with their voters. I think we know what Labour will do.

I'm watching "meltdown in response to Reform winning" compilations, and EVERY time they bring up how Reformers shouldn't be allowed to order ethnic take-out food anymore. I think I figured out why they all say this, and it's because the alternatives to ethnic take-out foods are:

1: Support British-owned businesses.
2: Learn to cook.

Because in their mind they would sooner starve to death than do either of these things, they are telling you that your punishment for voting wrong should be to starve to death. It's KYS with loads of extra steps.
