Took me one second on Google to find the Mass Bay Credit Union, not only local to the Boston area, but also a member of NCUA and NSIC so as "safe" as any bank. If he doesn't like that one there's Massachusetts Family Credit Union, also NCUA backed. There's even a Dedham Federal Credit Union which is also a NCUA member. On January 27th, John bitches about some online-only bank having terrible customer service so he closed his account immediately. Someone asks him if there's a credit union he can go to, but he throws that out as an option because he's deathly afraid of the coof and doesn't want to go outside (never mind that he went outside plenty of times already by his own admission). He also spouts that a credit union can't possibly have the high-tech app that Godzilla of Tech Feminism John Walker Flynt deserves because, and I quote, "How can a local credit union possibly keep a team of full stack devs employed?"
I literally did not scroll past the top results on my screen for this information and I don't live in Dedham, Massachusetts so the locations may not be totally relevant. I did click through to confirm that each of these allows you to enroll and bank online though. The first two even have Mobile Apps, nationwide ATM access, etc.
Not surprising at all that John has no clue what a modern credit union is like. Why would it need to permanently employ an internal team of any kind of developers when it can contract out near everything to national/international credit union networks/partners/etc.? I figured a tech giant who was personally quoted in the book Coders: Who They Are, What They Think and How They Are Changing Our World would know all about this kind of modern tech-based company.
