Wow, that was fast. Long time lurker, I know you guys generally disapprove of this type of autism but I was drunk and couldn't resist. Naturally I'm already on John's blocklist but I think I'm gonna keep going with this until Twatter inevitably bans me, if anyone has any good Wendigo tweet material feel free to let me know.

Everyone has chosen a side yet but Fair Weather Johnny is worried about picking the loser again like he did with Shrillary and won’t endorse Bernie because he hates him even after co-opting his ideas for his scampaign.

John would have been one of those people that the old Usenet crowd would have decried as being part of Eternal September. There's an argument to be made that social media and smartphones created a second Eternal September as well, but John the supposed techie only brings them up as a positive. He didn't know shit then, he certainly doesn't now.
 
The iMac preceded the iPhone by almost ten years, and ease of setup was one of its major selling points. I guess John was sleeping when that happened.

My first computer was a 286, I had dealt with every speed of dial-up modem until my area finally got cable internet. I never had to “painstakingly configure” any of my connections when I had dial-up modems or network cards you stupid fucking fraud.

Edit: lmfao at “normal people” and “an engineer like me”.

John had never built a PC until about 2 years ago and didn’t even know how to configure the bios or how to seat components like ram. Then he complained it was super complicated when he had his sycophants on twitter and YouTube videos guiding him.

I’m not an engineer and I’ve built 4 computers so far. They’re easy as shit to build and configure. How would an idiot like John know how to configure network protocols but not how to build a PC?

I didn't even have my own computer until some time well into Pentium, although I'd built a number of them not for myself. Most of what I used were terminals directly connected to a mainframe of some sort. When I did use something remotely it was through a similar setup through something like Procomm Plus emulating VT1xx/2xx or whatever was appropriate. I refused to use the web until some time late into the '90s and even then it was mostly using lynx or something text only.

By the time I had to set up a Windows machine to use the Internet it was trivial. And outside of a brief window of time where you needed to mess around with Trumpet Winsock and similar garbage, all ISPs had very simple setup software on their floppy/CD that would handle it automagically. It would take a real moron to screw it up, but then John is an absolute, utter moron.

Twenty years ago would be 2000. EarthLink, which started in 1994 and rapidly spread, was one of the first ISPs that had this model of idiot simple, pop a disk in and connect, Internet service, and their model spread rapidly throughout the industry. Well before 2000, this kind of Internet on a disk model was standard.

John may or may not have been on the Internet for 20 years. But if he was, someone else did it for him because he's fucking dumb and describing a world that never existed.

Wu would rather city engineers spend time and taxpayer dollars modeling disco lights and a fully photorealistic and interactive ground-floor lingerie boutique than just get to the fucking point of illustrating the development schedule.

"As a person who could make this..." from the twit whose Rev60 architecture rarely exceeded the complexity of something a four year old makes out of wooden blocks. (to be fair, the rendering budget was already too busy deep-throating Holiday's head-balls)

All CAD software should improve their shader support, HDR textures and stuff. That's why I draw all electrical circuits in Photoshop. No shaggy arrow heads for me, no siree.

I might misremember it, it was ages ago, but I think I saw an interview with a 3D artist for Valve who told a story about, after their HL engine introduced rudimentary physics, they had to improve their design because it would 9/11 their buildings. Just extrapolate Wu's Bratz Dolls design onto architectural design. Image the foreman keeping the blueprints at arm length and bunch of confused workers standing behind him, all repeating "…what the fuck, we're painting the concrete before pouring it?"
