He used to talk about district 8, especially during the first scampaign. He kept harping on bringing tech jobs in which would have had the effect of displacing the predominantly blue collar residents and driving up the cost of living ala San Francisco. Boston already has a high cost of living and John, being his usual idiot self, had zero research into what the residents need or want there. He, in typical pig head male fashion, decided they needed tech companies because tech solves all problems.

Yes I believe so. There's also a missing college year from when he presumably flunked out and his parents got him that internship around 2000/2001. He spent that time/opportunity getting high on pills and being thrown into rehab before returning to college.
