Surprising to hear he was on the Today programme. It's Christmas, though, so the presenters might be feeling generous. Usually they savage the fuck out of anyone, whatever their views. John Humphries would rip god a new asshole if he spoke on the Today show.

I guess they must've had an intern in for the holidays. Or Wu was the comic relief.

I think John, due to not having a job or family, is readily available for easy interviews vs real women who actually are in tech. He’s banging down doors to get more publicity so the media throws him a bone not knowing he’s a fraud.

It’s easier to believe his lies because he sort of talks as if he knows something vs digging into his charade.

I was going to point this out as well, but let's face it: A shitty plastic lock to keep honest people honest is all you should need for the gym.

edit: That's not to say some of the shit isn't laugh worthy as @Dr. Merkwurdichliebe covers. Or that John probably thinks his plastic lock is high security.

In fact, when she was a little black girl from Mississippi, she wrote a letter to the author about her days as captain at Space Camp, which inspired him to write Red Planet, several decades after it was published!

All kidding aside, Podkayne of Mars was based on the yet-to-be-lived life of Brianna Walker Flynt. Setting the story on Mars did nothing to disguise the source material for Heinlein's prescient roman à clef about this brave, brilliant, and headstrong girl.

It always boggles my mind that John decided to fiercely latch onto Heinlein of all the science fiction authors out there. You'd think that with Frank's Hugo Awards and sci-fi convention connections, John would have figured out by now that the ideological bent of Heinlein's work was never in fashion with the progressive leftist crowd that John is trying to be a spokesman of.

Read another book, John!

I'm just surprised John isn't a fan of L. Ron Hubbard, claiming to all and sundry that Battlefield Earth was the best sci-fi movie ever made, and the main inspiration for Rev60. It would make about as much sense as anything else in his addled head.

It's so politically unhelpful that it's probably one of the few genuine things about John, from before he trooned out and made his entire life out of a fraud.

On some level, Flynt is well aware his current guise is built on a shoddy foundation, she knowing he's too inept to step outside his comfort zone, he tries to prop up his image with the few things he can speak on with the vaguest sense of competence.
