What they call "bias" really means "patterns of behaviour or statistical trends I find personally uncomfortable". Algorithms don't get uncomfortable, so they act on data that says loan prospects from a particular zip code are more likely to default on payments, or that women's resumes are less likely to represent a candidate with the technical qualifications for your company's software engineer opening."societal biases" like the fact that niggers commit a disproportionate number of crimes, for example?

Or, to be fair, "patterns of behavior we intentionally choose to ignore in hopes of achieving a particular social outcome ".What they call "bias" really means "patterns of behaviour or statistical trends I find personally uncomfortable".
Also, I think people only get to see a small slice of the whole Wu picture so they don't put together the horrifying whole. Like Warren experienced first hand that she has no work ethic, that she's abrasive and that she has no clue how to manage people but he didn't have the perspective to see that her background was phony and that her professed beliefs ran no deeper than saying whatever she thinks will benefit her. Similarly, the Kotaku reporter obviously saw that her campaign was a poorly organised shit show, but lacked the context to realise that even what he saw was an act for his benefit and that Wu's political campaign was a stage for Wu's narcissism.
I continue to hold out hope that one day Wu will be exposed as the fraud she is but really, even if a reporter came to realise what was going on, would it make for a story they could write? Wu is pretty well protected because her lying and deceptions aren't really in the cause of some grand Machiavellian scheme, they're just to satisfy her own deeply fucked up psyche. The only way that's a story is if it's in the heat of a closely fought campaign where she's actively lying to voters, which is why I don't understand this whole politician Wu thing at all. It's like she's just daring journalists to out her.
If she wasn't already horrified, she will be after making eye contact with this six foot ghoulish trannyAnd then the hijab-wearing woman was stoned to death because she was seen outside the house with a male who was not her father, brother, or husband.

So wait, he’s in Silicon Valley now and he’s saying he’s overhearing a first date? It’s 2:45pm on the west coast, what kind of date is this?
It's a Mississippi John tall tale, friend. Listen and believe, or he'll find ye and drag ye to the Delta. So wait, he’s in Silicon Valley now and he’s saying he’s overhearing a first date? It’s 2:45pm on the west coast, what kind of date is this?

I don't even know how Brianna can write out this little piece of the fanfic and think to herself "yeah, this sounds believable".A date that doesn't exist.

"well I have to get up early to be stoned to death because I was seen with an infidel"

But cool of you to draw attention to the time after it was brought up here, Wu.![]()
Nobody believes anything John says.
Yes John it must have been a programming nightmare creating a direct link between the size of two variables. Imagine how much mySQL vectoring must have been involved.
