And hey, whaddaya know... he's running in Massachusetts! Check it out Bri! You can vote for an anti-establishment immigrant PoC engineer! But I don't need to tell you that, I'm sure you've already got him circled on your voter guide.
Do I get the bonus points? Or would you rather weasel out because he changed to an Independent?
(huh, didn't realize he was married to Fran Drescher. wild)
Trying hard to avoid serious mad on the internet because Wu can continue to say this without being jeered and pelted with rotten fruit.
Do you think there's some way in which she actually believes this? That she thinks her experience producing revolution 60 qualifies her as a software engineer despite the game being all Kismet and Unreal Script with not a single line of C++, and Wu wasn't even the one who did the programming? Does she think writing a shitty fanboy article about Metal makes her an expert, or just informed enough to get away with bullshitting if she were ever called on it?
There must be people in her life that know what Wu says is so much horseshit. Frank for a start, Amanda Warner and Maria Enderton too most likely. It's amazing she's managed to stay in the limelight so long.
I mean, she made terrible 3D Bratz dolls scripted into a "game", so that's not nothing but sure as hell nobody sane would claim any expertise with that portfolio. In the same wane I'm a fucking Victor Wooten because I have a bass guitar. Can't play for shit, but it makes noise if you hook it up. @Smaug's Smokey Hole posted a deconstruction of Wu's 3D objects; it was amateurish as fuck.
As for being expert in OpenGL and/or Metal, lol, no. I don't believe Wu would be able to hand compile a "Open Window with a GL surface" tutorial with a gun against her head.

I think anyone who interacts with Brianna for a significant amount of time eventually realizes how pants-shittingly exceptional she is but, for various reasons, no one will say a word about it. In a couple of those cases, like former GSK staff, the feeling I'm sure is that they are still wary of repercussion from the Wus for daring to destroy the Brianna Wu character. But I think a good portion of it is that she's remarkably lucky to be pulling all of her bullshit at a time when you aren't allowed to question the experiences of "harassment victims", especially if they are trans. Even if she doesn't identify as such, anyone with a brain can tell Brianna used to be a dude and it's almost career suicide to attack a trans person's credentials.
What makes me mad at the internet are all the replies to the guy correctly calling out Wu as an idiot. All the “muh mansplaining” and “Brianna is a strong grrrrrl in tech!” replies...
Oh yes John I'm sure people have very emotional experiences driving indeed when they are stuck in traffic for 90 minutes a day when they commute to work. But what am I saying? You've never worked a day in your fucking life.
I mean I guess if you're the passenger of a shambling ghoul in a womansuit who snarls with every turn signal and sees every bollard and stanchion as a personal challenge, but otherwise you're just :autistic:

(not to mention that physical switches in a Tesla, a vehicle so entirely dependent on its computerized control systems, pretty much would only be there for 'emotional reasons')
I don't know what she's on about with "emotional". But I'd prefer physical switches too.
Once you get used to the position of a switch you can use it without looking.
A touchscreen forces you to look at it every time.

Remember, he's LARPing as a sports car enthusiast. He's pretending to be one of those people who get really into feeling every speck of dust on the road and shifting gears a dozen times while turning corners at 200mph, or whatever. You know, the kind who just HAVE to buy a Porsche or three to really get intimate with the autobahn.

From the asshole who puts CarPlay into every dumpster fire used car he buys and his $100k new Porsche.
Why else put CarPlay if not for the automation? What exactly do you need physical buttons for in a car if you can also control everything by voice? (Which every luxury car pretty much has)
