I think we’re witnessing an evolution in Brianna’s lie in real-time.
The truth is likely: Brianna was born to rich conservative parents but made up the adoption lie to cope with not fitting in/to punish them for no longer giving her hundreds of thousands to squander as they did before she came out.
The original lie: Mostly the truth, including brags about her wealth and status, but now she’s adopted. Birth mom had an affair and is anonymous. Evil Catholic Church wants money to provide her identity. Parents disowned her for reasons she eventually claimed had to do with political affiliation.
The Twitter Woke lie: Same as above, but tones down the wealth and implies she was poor because she grew up within driving distance of poor people. She craves the cred. Wealth brags don’t provide status on some twitter, but overcoming adversity does. She eventually added being disowned for being bisexual to this lie.
The campaign trail lie: Same as Twitter Woke, but it looks like she might imply heavily that she bounced around foster care for years. She’ll probably tie this into her homelessness lie. It seems like a natural dovetail.
I get the sense that Brianna sculpts and carves her lies with a fantasy Brianna The Movie in mind: When she’s a glamorous 60 year old with a hot guy on her arm (Frank will be dead or in a home), she’ll walk down the red carpet to the premiere of what will surely be the highest grossing biopic of all time. Everyone will either love her or gnash their teeth in jealous fits.*
* it’s spelled “gnash” and not “knash,” Brianna. Just FYI for when you read this. Knash is almost as embarrassing as your constant use of “courrupt”

My prediction was that Wu would sell out the moment a corporation came knocking but I'd imagined that there would be more than a hot meal on the table, maybe he got some swag? Anyway, the bar has been set, it's embarrassingly low and if he gets elected the lobbyists knows he can be bought for next to nothing.

I've said before that all a lobbyist would need to do is turn up at her office and flatter her about how important she is and how they know she'll do the right thing to buy her vote. Her ego would be a serious problem for the Democratic party if by some extreme quirk of fate she ever managed to obtain office.

Probably a few things happening simultaneously:
1) The bullshit artist: John is in full-on BACKCHANNEL mode, and is spouting off anything he thinks will get him in deeper with the Seattle crowd.
2) The narcissist: He's used to slumming it on the outskirts of WWDC, where he can't get a seat at the cool kids table, and his Apple pundit buddies are too busy actually working to humor him. Now at Build he's getting that sweet sweet attention and backchannel status.
3) The idiot: He's taken a big gulp of tech conference kool-aid. Even odds that he's posting pictures of a shiny new Surface Pro within the week.
WWDC is in a month, so he'll be right back on the the Apple hype train soon enough.

But how can this possibly benefit her? It's not like she can actually get a job with any of these companies. Even with the softest of soft skills "developer advocacy" roles and the most nepotistic of nepotistic hiring practices, there's going to be some stage where she's going to be asked for a CV and a hiring committee is going to be asking "wait, how are you qualified for this role again?"
I have to assume that eventually there's not going to be a market for wheeling Brianna out at conferences to talk about how she was a victim of Gamergate. I would have thought it was already long past it's sell-by date, but here we are. What's her plan then?

John can’t work a 9-5 job or have a manager, his head is too far up his ass to report to someone. No, he has to be CEO of a company.
We all know that if he ever did apply for a job he’d lie and make up fake positions and companies. His LinkedIn has no other job history other than his dead gaming studio.

John's resume from the one time in his life that he seemed like he was actively searching for a job more or less confirms this - the bulk of his listed work history were positions from his various failed ventures and the couple of jobs he actually held gave few (if any) specifics on what he actually did. He also grossly exaggerated his body of work and outright lied several times about his accomplishments (like getting his shitty comic published in a comedy rag that hadn't been published in years or holding animation patents).
Not that it matters though. LinkedIn and resumes are for people seeking employment. Brianna has no intention of ever being part of the active workforce again because she'd never be able to handle any degree of accountability and background checks are one of his biggest fears.

His journalist lie is the easiest one to prove. Google “Brianna Wu” and try to find an article he wrote prior to 2014/2015, before gamergate started. There’s nothing, even under John Flynt there’s nothing.

Yes, basically this. You can find remnants of things Wu wrote for the Daily Mississippian and the Millsaps Purple & White. To say Wu ever "worked" as a journalist, and especially an investigative journalist is gross exaggeration. It's like a lot of things Wu says about herself, there's some kernel of truth but blown way out of proportion to camouflage the sad reality that she basically hasn't ever held a paid job.
