Out of interest, does anyone think Wu will actually be back in 2020 running for office again? Personally, I doubt it. While I'm sure there'll be a handful of cucks that would donate, mostly the media interest and even the modest amount of donations she got this cycle will be gone. That means Wu would actually have to put in serious work to give even the appearance of a real campaign. I can't see that ever happening. I don't want to try predicting what Wu's next move will be, I tried that when Giant Spacekat tanked and I don't think anyone could possibly have seen the congresswuman switch coming. I really doubt she'll go with professional political candidate though, not enough juice in it.

Yeah, it came up a few days ago with someone tweeting at BriBri something like "OMG WE'RE GOING TO THE SAME EVENT" and Brianna didn't even have a clue until that chick mentioned it was the Microsoft event.

She's not actually presenting or anything, rather, dinner with her is some sort of first place "prize" for something. There's not a contest I'd like to lose more....

As someone else mentioned, the biggest letdown of this whole event is it's unlikely to be filmed / made public. I wonder what BriBri's plans are when the "winner" of the contest sits down to dinner and maybe tries to discuss something like, oh I dunno, leverging NOSQL as a distributed cache for easing load on expensive but common queries including several joins, and BriBri responds something like, "Yeah, as a Software Engineer I did that at crunch-hour to ensure that my end-to-end encryption wasn't subject to threats from nanomachines trying to run up my power bill mining bitcoin for funding a moon rocks trebuchet! And I wrote it all in Apple Swift! You use C/Java? Maybe you can help me with this issue, I have this variable 'John' which I keep trying to cast to (struct female*) but I keep getting a segmentation fault. My theory is that Gamergate has installed some sort of malware!"

Like... will she have the gall to accuse an ACTUAL female in tech of mansplaining? Will she attempt to block further conversations by throwing a dinner roll into the poor victim engineer's mouf?

Sadly, since it will be a dinner, I expect in its informal atmosphere nobody will talk about technical questions, but rather some vague topic of how to make it in tech as a woman, and John thinks that in this particular topic he is a genuine expert, so he will feel like a fish in water. Also, it's extremely unlikely that somebody will challenge him, because outward competitiveness is shunned. Besides, women on average tend to be more agreeable. In general, looking at John, I think we really went too far in tolerating morons out of politeness.

Powerleveling here, but I've been to and presented at OSCon, PyCon, ArchlinuxCon etc. It costs several thousand dollars to attend (thanks company!) and everyone that attends these kinds of things are SUPER dedicated. Nonstop workshops, networking, etc. Many people carry a laptop around with code samples, and such to show off what you're working on, etc. They are technically "informal", but given that attendance is by the top 1% of employees in tech, nobody misses the rare oppertunity to discuss our passions with other people both passionate and at a comprable level.

This means Brianna will be SO out of place as all these REAL female gozdillas of tech nerd out. I expect Brianna's face may hurt for a few days from the amount of snarl's no doubt which will rarely leave her face.

Her "friend" that set her up with this KNOWS this is the case, that's why the agenda I've seen is not for Wu to be around or interactive with others except at the very end at a dinner, and even then the chances of Brianna having a meltdown and leaving completely broken and embarrased is much greater than nil....

It looks as if this true and honest woman slapped a ton of foundation on her face (notice foundation on her eyebrows). Since he is inexperienced with makeup, I guess the hairline also got affected.
 
To be honest I halfway suspect that there is some creepy "LOOK AT ME! IM INTERACTING WITH SOMEONE WHO ISNT CONVENTIONALLY ATTRACTIVE AND TELLING THEM WHAT A GOOD CREATURE THEY ARE! AM I NOT THE WOKE'EST IN THE LAND?!" trend going on with various professional activists/PR people/whatever, wherin they show off their SJW piety by taking selfies with the most hideous self proclaimed feminists they can in order to show how not-shallow they are, which would help explain why patently batshit crazy nutbags like Wu still manage to get a trickle of pilgrims coming to pay homage to the ugly tree. Would also explain why the hell people like Tarana Burke have a career outside the circus
