Any idea if any of the political people figured out the real Wu-Flynt story? I'm curious if the real people they meet are as credulous as the media.

I wondered if she was trans when I met her. I've never met a woman that tall. I've never heard anyone talk about it.

I found this thread by Googling her name. Anyone doing any due diligence probably has too.

Harassing Wu'self while forgetting to log out of Wu'selfs own account was over on the Steam forums for Revolution 60. Wu was logged into the developer/publisher forum account while harassing Wu's self. John really has been the gift that keeps on giving for years now. I think he may actually be starting to rival CWC in terms of shear lunacy produced.

Which is amazing considering that Chris's ultimate dream back in the day was to produce the Sonichu video game. Wu in that sense achieved what Chris never could - taking their magnum opus and turning it into a multi-platorm game, though only through literally throwing ungodly amounts of money and being a petulant asshole to the workers before shitcanning them from the project so the only names on the damn thing are Wu's, Frank's, some other woman's, and a woman who doesn't even exist.

Now we just need to wait for Wu to burn their house to the fucking ground.

It's weird that Wu virtue signals hard but won't for a second jump back on the tranny train.

However, it's critical to understand Wu by looking back at the origin of this shitstain - the John Walker Flynt days. Our wiki is probably the finest stockpile of such information (though it really needs to be updated with all the political insanity that's happened since the end of gamergate - which is a delay caused by the wiki's temporary shutdown due to some asshole who messed with Null too much)

I think if Wu actually manages to get on the ballot I'll see about overhauling the wiki. A lot of the information on there is outright wrong, and in some cases actually paints Wu in a better light than she deserves, e.g. on the front page it states that Wu actually had a job in Washington as Republican political operative, while actually there's no evidence at all Wu worked while in DC, and no evidence she ever worked for the Republicans other than the summer internship with Trent Lott's office in MS.

There really needs to be a clear and concise summary of what kind of person Wu is. The current article is pretty sprawling and you really have to dig to get the full picture. If Wu's going to be a public figure, there should be at least one place where you can quickly get the facts on Wu's past. It sure as hell isn't going to be wikipedia.

i have no idea how it works, but can Wu call himself dem if he's blacklisted and not backed by democratic party?

Don't you understand? that's how dangerous GlimmerGrate is. They took over John's mind, made him kill his own dog via long term neglect. They're that powerful and that insidious. Just like all those harassers John knows about in the games industry but doesn't ever name. He's just that scared of gammagripe.

This inspired a me to write a little 1984 copypasta:

As the door opened, the wave of air that it created brought in a powerful smell of cigarettes and dust. Brianna Wu walked into the cell. He was wearing dirty hooker boots and a filthy black dress.

This time Winston was startled into self-forgetfulness.

‘You here!’ he said.

Brianna gave Winston a glance in which there was neither interest nor surprise, but only misery. He began walking jerkily up and down, evidently unable to keep still. Each time he straightened his pudgy knees it was apparent that they were trembling. His eyes had a wide-open, staring look, as though he could not prevent himself from gazing at something in the middle distance.

‘What are you in for?’ said Winston.

‘Thoughtcrime!’ said Brianna, almost blubbering. The tone of his voice implied at once a complete admission of his guilt and a sort of incredulous horror that such a word could be applied to himself. He paused opposite Winston and began eagerly appealing to him: ‘You don't think they'll shoot me, do you, old friend? They don't shoot you if you haven't actually done anything — only thoughts, which you can't help? I know they give you a fair hearing. Oh, I trust them for that! They'll know my record, won't they? You know what kind of woman I was. I faced down the alt right and won, you know. I tried to do my best for the Twitterati, didn't I? I'll get off with five years, don't you think? Or even ten years? A woman like me could make himself pretty useful at an internet clickbait rag. They wouldn't shoot me for going off the rails just once?’

‘Are you guilty?’ said Winston.

‘Of course I'm guilty!’ cried Brianna with a servile glance at the twitter feed. ‘You don't think the Twitterati would arrest an innocent man, do you?’ His frog-like face grew calmer, and even took on a slightly sanctimonious expression. ‘Thoughtcrime is a dreadful thing, old man,’ he said sententiously. ‘It's insidious. It can get hold of you without your even knowing it. Do you know how it got hold of me? In my sleep! Yes, that's a fact. There I was, working away, trying to do my bit — never knew I had any bad stuff in my mind at all. And then I started talking in my sleep. Do you know what they heard me saying?’

He sank his voice, like someone who is obliged for medical reasons to utter an obscenity.

‘“Journalists need to show ethics!” Yes, I said that! Said it over and over again, it seems. Between you and me, old man, I'm glad they got me before it went any further. Do you know what I'm going to say to them when I go up before the tribunal? “Thank you,” I'm going to say, “thank you for saving me before it was too late.”’

It just occurred to me that as you mention problems with the wiki, we still lack any kind of information (as in reliable, not blatant bullshit from Wu themselves) about what Flynt's life was before entering college. It makes me wonder if perhaps they were homeschooled?

i have no idea how it works, but can Wu call himself dem if he's blacklisted and not backed by democratic party?

Wu calls themselves a game developer (without really having developed a game proper) and a journalist (without a degree or really any major editorial pieces) and a woman in tech (without any qualifications) - I don't see why calling themselves a dem when every other Democrat in the state hates them is an impossibility.

Yes you can register for whatever party you want to. By blacklisted I mean people on the state committee won't return phone calls, won't offer advice, and are telling anyone who might work on her campaign not to. Campaigns are short and people who work on campaigns need to get another job next year and want to keep their reputation in good standing. Everyone except for Warren Lynch, I guess. I don't know if he's Stephen's cousin: is that verified, or someone here made it up? I've never heard it but I don't discount it. Warren Lynch is a tool and an idiot and it's very funny that he's branding her as a Bernie supporter. Nobody will fall for it.

i just thought a party had to back ya before you could put yourself on the ballot as dem/repub whatever like yep Wu is one of us and a dem we back him being on the ballot as dem. So im obviously dumb.

This is a primary election, where the party chooses its candidate based on the outcome of that election. Sometimes.

We know John went to Hattiesburg High School for at least the last part of his secondary education. Wu has also talked about a Christian private school, but I'm not sure how much trust to put in that statement.

You can LARP as a member of a political party all you want, but if you aren't affiliated, all they have to do is publicly cut you off and no one will take them seriously.

Charles Guiteau, the lunatic who shot President Garfield, he claimed to be a Stalwart Republican who shot Garfield so Chester A. Arthur would be president. In reality, he was just a lunatic said Stalwarts (Arthur included) lost no time in denouncing, made easier by the fact Guiteau already had a reputation for being as credible as a headmate long before then.

Given Wu is not much better off on the credibility scale to anyone who matters politically, same thing will happen if they have to make official notice, but for now they are just quietly cutting him off from official support, which amounts to the same thing.

You have to be registered to the party to be on their ballot in the primary, and in Massachusetts you must be of that party or an independent to vote on that party's ballot. So if she's a registered democrat and gets the required number of signatures and is on the democrat ballot, then anyone registered democrat or independent can vote for them. Other parties have their own ballots.

You technically don't need support from any party leaders to win. Trump had next to no support from republican officials in his primary. All you need is more than 50% of the votes. Individual voters don't care what party officials think.
