These incompetent nitwits always deliver the lulz. Brianna doesn’t post about 99% of the political events she supposedly goes to, but will Tweet day and night about Sailor Moon and Peggle. Warren Lynch is being paid to post to his personal Facebook account while Frank Tweets under his Frank Wu Twitter account.
No Brianna Wu For Congress social media blasts from the “Godzilla of tech” Brianna Wu whose campaign web site was down for two months.
Neither the Wus nor Warren Lynch could find someone in District 8 to hold the fundraiser for this farce. Any important people will have to drive to district 5 to eat Girl Scout cookies while Brianna snarls and Frank screams from his perpetually gaping maw. Sounds like a blast.

This is pathetic. People were falling all over themselves to host these events for her last spring (I know this is true). Now she can't even find anyone in the district, or anyone with any political connections, to host one. This person is a freelance writer according to their Facebook page: probably Frank's contact.

Wu is gonna "dramatically" pull out of the race after receiving "credible and serious threats to her life and the lives of her supporters" from gamergate terrorists who promised to rape and murder her and the women on her camapign team when she won the election. There may be a twitter account set up which makes these "totally not written by wu" threats, but odds are its all going to be done by untraceable email.

I think a lot of people maybe said they were interested in hosting the event, likely before they got to meet John in person and have any kind of interaction with him.
I can actually picture the whole affair. Here you are, some fringe "disenfranchised", radical liberal with a little bit of dough who hears about Brianna Wu being a sassy, tough, take-no prisoners and make no apologies crusader for the oppressed who runs her own game studio, races motorbikes, and still somehow puts up with her adorably goofy and bumbling husband. Her politics are all-right by you. You are also sick of that MAN Lynch running the show in the district for nearly two decades, essentially unopposed, and with overwhelming support. It's time for a change! You decide to reach out over social media to the folks at Wu 2018 and ask what you can do to help. Some topics come up, including direct donations -- but you settle on maybe hosting an event. As time goes by, you see your candidate say some erratic things. You start digging around, looking at old tweets, digging on google. She said she was harassed online by hateful bullies, surely this stuff you are finding is all slanderous and meant to defame her. After all the people in power hate sassy women who are brave enough to rock the boat. At some point though the sheer volume of content coupled with the consistency, material evidence, and actual eye-witness accounts of it all has you beginning to think something is not right with this whole thing. You decided to take in one of your candidates televised interviews on YouTube. "Wow" you say. That's a tall lady. In fact, she is taller than most of the guys on the segment by almost a head. Wait a minute, speaking of heads, what's going on with hers? What's up with weird snarling and bizarre mannerisms? And the filthy dress? Not really a looker, this one? Unfortunate hairline... Oh shit... Is she's a dude? You know for a fact you are not transphobic -- someone as liberal as you simply can't be -- but something about the thought of this person in your home is suddenly deeply unsettling to you. Eventually the campaign calls upon you to make good on your commitment to hosing the event. You ignore the calls at first, but they persist. Then, a temporary lapse in judgement compels you to pick up the call. It's Frank, her enforcer. He's looking to collect on the promise. You hesitate, and stutter a bit as you respond: "I'm sorry, but due to the umm... renovations, we can't accommodate you, but good luck on the campaign. Thanks. Good-bye".

Not only that, they’re transient students that probably aren’t even registered to vote in John’s district, so they can’t vote for you and they can’t sign ballot petitions. A college political party is likely only hosting her as a courtesy unless they’re a fringe group. If you’re dedicated enough of a policital nerd to join a club for a political party, you’re not going to publicly align yourself against a popular longtime incumbent - especially if you ever want to work in politics and get paid for it. People that attend this group will not be lining up to volunteer for you for that reason. The whole thing, while not a total waste of time, should not be what your prioritizing at this point in the campaign. This is the type of shit you would go out of your way to do in an open primary or leading up to a competitive general - neither is remotely applicable to this race.

Reality is less interesting. Progressives in the district hate Lynch. They bitch about it all the time. There's a long list of people and organizations who want to replace Lynch. They were actively recruiting people last summer. Nobody wanted to lose though.
People who vaguely heard about GamerGate by reading the New York Times and Jezebel also vaguely heard of Brianna Wu and were excited that she was going to run. I have a few friends who offered to host coffees for her last Spring, and I know others did, and she said "I'll think about it" and never got back to them. Pissed off a few people.
The problem isn't meeting her. She comes off well when you first meet her. Yes she's very tall but she does a good impression of listening to you and looking concerned. Great for a politician. She asks probing questions with a very serious face, like she cares. I agree with the poster who said a while back that she probably read a book about how to talk to people.
Then she started reaching out to state party members and potential campaign managers and people who are influential. She managed to reach out to good people in this round. Then her campaign fell apart. A big thing was that she didn't listen to their advice. When you bother someone who is very busy and volunteering to help you the least you can do is take some of their advice. That's when the state party blacklisted her. Another thing is that she stopped campaigning and still expected people to like her. That's not how politics works. The financial filings were the final nail in the coffin. Those went around Facebook, messenger, email quickly. Suddenly Lynch didn't look so bad.

Harassing Wu'self while forgetting to log out of Wu'selfs own account was over on the Steam forums for Revolution 60. Wu was logged into the developer/publisher forum account while harassing Wu's self. John really has been the gift that keeps on giving for years now. I think he may actually be starting to rival CWC in terms of shear lunacy produced.
