I don't believe that. John is so dishonest and greedy that if there was any more money coming, he'd have lied to get it. Also there's just no way they didn't at least know he was a gay weirdo.

I think there's one reason alone that John disowned his parents, and that's that after ten years of failing to get a degree and squandering hundreds of thousands of their money being a pathetic failure, the gibs me dat finally dried up.
