Pretty much all of Wu's talks are supposed to be on subjects like VR or software development. However, Wu is a fraud who knows little of such things and so only talks about subjects interesting to her (being harassed, the latest fraud, Apple, herself, etc.). It's part of the reason you don't see Wu making tons of repeat appearances.

Ivroy tower implies to me that someone is an academic who's deep focus on theory makes them myopic to the practical aspects of a subject. It still implies credibility, albeit sometimes not directly appliapplicable to problem solving. John unfortunately has no academic basis for any of his predictions at all. So yeah, I agree very much with the second part of your statement. His entire worldview is formulated from sci-fi, often of questionable taste, that he barely even understands. Its like watching a little kid except that instead of being inspired by a childs naive yet hopeful dreams of the future, you are just grossed out by a mentaly ill, 40 year old guy, ineffectively cosplaying as a woman, who you would think would know a bit more about his field.

Good point. I guess I should have said he's a profoundly speaking imbecile. He spews a lot of crap that to the uninformed sounds profound, but to anyone with the slightest bit of critical thinking sounds like total bullshit, because it is.

It depends what you're expecting them to do. I get the impression John considers them some kind of magic and really doesn't understand them at all, and is just throwing around buzzwords to sound like he has the foggiest idea what he's talking about. It's expected they'll be very, very good at combinatorial problems, i.e., that they'll essentially break crypto as it currently exists (while at the same time making other forms of crypto possible). We are a way out from that, though, and even if we suddenly had this stuff, it still wouldn't be the same as AI.

He's the walking proof of the rule that anyone who says "quantum" anything and isn't a scientist is probably absolutely full of shit.

Why did he pick MLB of all sports? You know, the sport where the people who smash the records are the ones jacked up on 'roids? Seems to me that's the perfect example of a sport women would be at a disadvantage in unless they're juicing at East German Olympic levels.

Never mind drugs, the fact men can jump higher than women is far more significant. We didn't even play mixed sex basketball in school PE for that reason.

It's typical of troons to deny biological differences between sexes.
