I'm no scientist, but my reading of the results and conclusion here is basically this:

• Over the course of the study period, mental health of the individuals on puberty blockers did not change significantly. However, no one's mental state was so bad that it needed to be addressed immediately.
• Furthermore, even before being put on blockers, no one had psychological problems that were all that different from the average adolescent, which suggests to me the angle of "troon out your kid or they'll kill themselves" is a load of bullshit.
• Despite this, the authors jump to the conclusion that, because trannies learn this suicide baiting tactic as they get older and express it more frequently, and these kids weren't doing so after a shorter period, puberty blockers must help them maintain their existing mental state. Despite showing no improvement (and in fact not having many mental issues at all), the authors cannot bring themselves to say this "treatment" has no medical value and leave a little wiggle room open. "No change" does not necessarily mean "they would have gotten worse without it."

At any rate, John is full of shit. We have multiple high-profile cases of what happens to kids who go on puberty blockers, and it's not good from a medical standpoint: physical and mental development issues, osteoporosis in girls in their twenties, and ending up looking like their biological sex (look at recent pics of Kim Petras or Jazz Jennings, you'll see how obvious it is). John can screech about the horrors of what puberty did to his body, the fact is he would always have grown up to become a gangling, gormless fuck.
