Horeshoe theory isn't true in terms of the actual beliefs. It just means that extremists of all kinds have certain things in common.

Mild power-level: I have some unfortunate personal experience with meth addicts, and John's facial spasms are uncomfortably similar. I'm wondering if he's using meth not for the usual reasons, but for its original purpose: weight control. Back before the big snip, he was pretty porky, wasn't he? Yet he's managed to remain skeletally thin all the way into his late 30s, despite no exercise regimen that's ever been witnessed. On the other hand, Frank seems to be in decent shape so maybe he's come by his figure naturally ... which isn't very comforting.

I find meth unlikely. I would suspect it's whatever pills he can get ahold of as opposed to methamphetamine. Plenty of drugs leave their abusers a twitchy, zombified mess.

I'm going to have to disagree, if only because using meth would mean that Wu would have to go outside and interact with people from a different social grouping, and we all know he's never done that.

Yeah I can't see Wu interacting with a dealer without getting stabbed and left to die within the first few meetings.

You'd be surprised at how easy it is to get that shit, and not every dealer is a thug lurking in a doorway in a burnt out section of town. Far from it. Also, if he is doing meth for weight control, he's probably doing it in pill form rather than smoking or injecting. That would lend itself to a slightly more upscale sort of dealer -- hell, some of them will even deliver it straight to your door.

I never did drugs, but I knew a drug dealer when I was at school. He wasn't particularly quick to anger and a lot of the people he sold to were middle class.

There's also the possibility of online drug markets which skip the face to face interaction entirely.
 
Eh, if he's using it's not hard to get a script. With the host of mental issues he is packing, decent insurance, and living around a large metropolitan area, doctor shopping for whatever you want is not hard, even with recent crackdowns.

If Wu were hitting a pipe (other than Frank's), or using any other street drug outside of Marijuana I would be surprised. Someone like frank has too much to lose to be around that when there are legal alternatives.

Plus if he were using that sort of drug, he would be screeching on Twitter about how everything needs to be Amsterdam tier legal, and virtue signaling for druggies... or paradoxically taking a hardliners opposite stance. I see neither, and if Wu is an abuser, it is with a prescription drug as it would bruise his ego to be addicted to a street drug.

I disagree on the Wunalysis (but that video doe). It looks less like a psychiatric tic and more like a robot attempting to emulate human emotions. It's also the kind of facial motions you get out of someone who is not used to taking and answering questions from the public - insted of smiling and waiting for the question to finish then answer they're answering the question with their facial expressions like they would in a normal conversation.

In this case John is attempting to act like what he thinks a woman would act like when being confronted with a difficult question you may not agree with philosophically - ie, using sarcastic facial expressions to dismiss the person ... it doesn't work in a public speaking setting and just makes you look exceptional. This type of facial reaction is one of the things that you're trained out of when you go for professional public speaking training.

TL;DR: John's simultaneously failing as public speaking and being a sassy woman.
 
It could also be some kind of pseudo-scientific body language thing like Neuro-linguistic programming or something. The fact she uses certain phrases all the time as 'anchors' kind of lends itself to this. Wouldn't be surprised if she is into Anthony Robins or Richard Bandler.
 
Brianna has no concept of how to act like a female and therefore makes an ass of himself. Couple this with the social retardation, and you get the tic.
