As annoying as it can be to see people treat him with kid gloves, it'll pay off in the long run. As soon as election rolls around that's when the reporters will stop playing nice and John will find out damn quickly that he can't evade questions like he's used to or that he can't screech at a problem to make it go away.

John was already unprepared to make a serious go at this, and the softball interviews and questions he's been asked coupled with his ego and in general nuttery stand a good chance to make him a national laughing stock.
