its simple reverse psychology. wu's whole persona is "i fought gamergate and the alt right" but if all of a sudden "gamergate" supports her and somehow she is made a face of the "alt right" what does she have left?
 
North Korea doesn't need to be able to hit the mainland US directly. All they need to do is hit the moon when it's directly over Washington or New York. The Earth's massive gravity well will do the rest.
 
Just to put things in perspective, in North Korea's most recent missile test (about 2 weeks ago) they launched 4 ballistic missiles. A couple of them made it 620 miles away from the launch site before falling into the Sea of Japan.

The distance from North Korea to Los Angeles is approximately 6,000 miles. North Korea has never demonstrated an ability to consistently hit their neighbor Japan with missiles, let alone the USA. They've SAID they could, but all evidence points to them falling about 90% short.
