So what I'm reading from John's posts is that he did follow the link in the email and "changed his credentials" before being told it was a phishing email and acting like he knew all along.

Never change John, you glorious buffoon.

Because when the police/FBI said "don't talk about the investigation", she totally didn't rant about it on Twitter over and over again.

Though I wonder what's on her iPhone/cloud account that's got her so riled up.
 
Can someone with twitter ask Ollie to screen his phishing email with the link hovered over or some other even mroe obvious proof? Or the full email address not just "from Apple"? I'd like to see her respond to that

The shady URL shows up on a verbatim search, with an obvious phishing link inside.

He is lying, he talks about TFA but the looks of it he has never activated it, the only way to access a account that has 2fa is by having the cellphone or cloned the cell phone number to receive the SMS, that is why people use Google authenticator or Authy

Yeah, 2fa through SMS of all things seems hella dumb for anything more sensitive than protecting your "to watch" list on Netflix.

Re: cloned SIM cards
I'm not up to date on what's been happening the last few years so things might have changed, and I don't know much about telecom, but cloning a sim was so quick and easy that I worked around people that did it routinely because it was less hassle to do that and stick it in a crapphone from a desk drawer compared to finding their real phone when they were waiting for an important call or a text. Or cloned a clients sim so they could answer a call that the client would otherwise have to forward and probably mess up.

  • The message starts with a generic greeting, like “Dear valued customer” — most legitimate companies will include your name in their messages to you.
And yes, Apple is one of those "legitimate companies."

For an Apple fanboy, John amazingly doesn't know that Apple support emails ALWAYS begin "Dear Your Name," and if they don't, they're fucking fake.

It's amazing anyone can be this globally incompetent.

The self importance ncessary to think that the Russians want to hack Brianna Wu of all people is staggering. If anything, the Russians would prefer Brianna being elected, because she makes anyone opposing Trump look completely psychotic.
