And it's why this is gonna be a joke.

Trump, like him or not, offered something anyone who isn't an entitled asshole (most of the population) likes, respects, and needs: the prospect of more jobs.

Wu is offering nothing that is of any benefit to anyone not married to the Internet or in a very niche group, and that's if we are extremely generous.

And why should they? They've won already, now it's just laughing at the people who can't accept they lost this autistic slapfight for the ages and watch dogging.

Any politician with half a brain will either focus on real issues while Wu keeps shrieking about GamerGate, or, if they deign to give a crap, will whip out evidence Wu is a lying attention whore who would be no one if GamerGate had never happened.

Either way, this is a dead end and Wu would be advised by anyone with the slightest knowledge of how to actually get shit done in politics to focus on something else.

I was under the assumption that the "Brianna Wu is trans" is a bit of an open secret--everyone knows it (even Frank and Brianna), perhaps even "her" supporters. Obviously, if it became known in the campaign trail or in office, it would work poorly for her, but I can't imagine that she'd go to great lengths to cater to transgender voters yet not be, well, "brave" enough to admit it publicly. I'm not trans (therefore I can't speak for that group), but I would think that hiding that little fact would be a slap in the face to them.

You're right, it is an open secret, no one will pretend otherwise (in private).

Problem is twofold though: Even people who hate John have to shield that knowledge from public awareness because if they don't, they rip a support stone out of their entire wall of bullshit, a very critical support stone.

And second, Wu will try to use it for victim whoring cred and asspats like when Breitbart told the world the truth.

Her trans status is very much an open secret in the various social justice circles. The CON leaks showed the clique playing along with it, particularly when fellow closeted tranny Miguel was in the chat room too. As for her "catering" to the five or so transgender voters in that district, she absolutely will do it without being public about her own status. Wu likes to play coy with the whole thing, referring to discussion of her trans status as "rumors" and preferring to paint herself as a (100% legit woman) ally.

Beyond her cowardice and delusions, Brianna also can't really admit to being trans without also admitting to a lot of the nasty shit she did before becoming a pseudo-public figure. We've got all sorts of "Crazy J" stories from Ole Miss where John bragged about lying to sexual partners about having a penis (big no-no to the transgender community) and then there's the shit Brianna did on Susan's Place to fellow transgendered individuals.

And of course there's the whole repeatedly lying about having all kinds of different degrees while not having a single one under any name at all. And never mind the "fat dykes" and "sand niggers" comments.

If he goes as far as filing paperwork with the FEC, I think we can assume he will at least make a good show being serious if nothing else.

Depending on his ego and how badly he gets sandbagged with reality, he may just be stupid enough to try this for real and get slaughtered when his political opponents bury him with all the damning shit.
 
All I want out of this idiotic "Politician Wu" farce is for it to go on long enough for there to be one single interview where the interviewer looks at Wu and says "Let's talk about Natalie O'Brien"
 
I look forward to Brianna chimping out on TV but it isn't likely smart enough to do so.

Why on earth would she invoke Goobergrape when doing so requires explaining what it was to people who don't give a shit about "ethics in vidya game journalism" and when Blowy Zoe was a central figure and won't have anything good to say about Wu.
