1. It is likely the case that a huge percentage of the Patreon cash is actually from John himself, puffing up the figure with some kind of weird self-applied fractional reserve banking type of scenario.
I'll need to check, but a long while back IIRC we somehow got a peek at records of the number of individual financial contributions (only pledged amounts, no actual account info of those transactions) to that Patreon and it was quite telling that there was a large gap between people contributing similar small amounts like $1...and spontaneously huge amounts from one account here and there. Those single pledges in the hundreds mirror the sudden rise of the patreon amount after occasional drops of actual patreons leaving.
But if anything is certain, at
most the true amount of legit contributions and not Wu trying to fake donations to lure in others with a honeypot scenario has to be less than 50%. Wu burns thousands monthly on every new tech gadget and such, to them even if the entire patron amount is their money to begin with, it's money they feel can be burned like pocket change.
2. Even if all funds were legit, John has spent an order of magnitude more money to make what little he has done (and $40,000 in two years is pretty pathetic).
Not surprising given R60 in its original ios format cost ten times as much in twice as many years and failed to make profit even with all those undeserved 'awards' from confidants.
3. His professional credibility to all but the most dyed in the wool SJW acolytes is irreparably damaged.
Honestly I don't think Wu cares about that - people to Wu are only worth the amount to which they can further Wu's own ambitions.
This of course also extends to dogs. Crash in his dying moments was worth more to Wu as twitter rage material than a living, breathing
creature of companionship.
My only answer to this is that Frank has a hidden dark side.
I heard about another case where a quite attractive, successful man married a woman who seemed significantly below his league, and a lot of people thought there was something strange or off about them. It turned out the man was a serial child molester and the wife was an accomplice. The reason for Frank marrying John may be that John does something for him or allows him to do something that no one else is willing to.
Frank's not exactly a looker, but he's got connections high up in the geek culture, so I'd figure he could get with any number of women who are aspiring artists or authors or something, women who have both more creative talent and better looks and personalities than John. When I consider what John could offer that no other woman could, the only thing I can think of is that he's willing to do something for Frank that would cause most people to NOPE out. We know John's morality is entirely self-centered, so I can easily see him going along with Frank if Frank was committing crimes or doing something unethical.
IIRC Frank has at least one ex-wife who said he was an abusive fuck who even went stalker-ish in trying to ruin her life at some point. But the full history of Frank is something we both don't have a lot of knowledge about and probably is something we should look into.
Is that what happens when a person gazes upon a nude Wu?
That explains why Frank seemingly has that exact expression on his face in every picture he's in.
I've seen this said before, or variants of it (i.e. Frank is a massive control freak and gets off on knowing he could completely end John in a heartbeat). It's unsatisfying because it implies John is able or willing to do something or provide something that others aren't. We know that isn't the case in any other area of Johns life. The fact that Frank was married to an actual woman previously, who aired dirty laundry about them, makes me think there's not something hideously wrong with Frank either (like malformed penis or some huge insecurity/complex).
Maybe Johns parents agreed to give Frank some huge chunk of their wealth in their Will just to get John off the streets and out of their hair, but again, Frank is not exactly struggling for money.
Except IIRC, they thanked somebody in Frank's family for a free house, in the R60 credits.
As we know, R60 alone cost $400K and is money pissed away for absolutely no money regained. A quick google search suggests that is
more than the average price of a house in the state of Massachusetts. And Frank also drove around a shitty Honda for years even though he certainly could have afforded something better if Brianna was burning $100K yearly on a lost cause and a shity-ass racing bike I don't think Brianna is even licensed to drive (or even shown off recently... I wonder what happened to Wu's other pride and joy they praised themselves for getting).
Additionally, we've seen the 'pens' for their dogs and they are horribly cobbled together wire pillars - even dog transport cases are larger than those things (small wonder why the dogs destroy the furniture when not in the cages). Like some shoddy excuse simply to put the dogs like they're a high-maintenance furnishing instead of pets.
There is certainly more to the puzzle that is the couple Wu than just BriBri being a golddigging cyber-freak, but we know so little about Frank himself beyond bits and pieces we can't really get an idea of who he is. We can predict Brianna's behavior easily because we compiled a comprehensive history on Johnny boy and the pattern was evident from his infamous early college years all up to the present day. But Frank actually has clout with established sci-fi functions and Hugo awards, arguably this means he's more documented by default than the nobody psychopath he married, but beyond the ex wife's story we know nothing of him before marrying Brianna.
