I don't know if it's be so much an option more just a highly speculative possibility than an option.
I mean the things that would make "rocks from the Moon" launchable weren't on the drawing board or deployed either
and the things that could be drawn up to make em launchable are some of the same things that can make it impractical.
For TMIAHM, it was more of a plot driver than a mass driver - but that was more on the Space Opera end of the spectrum than the Hard SF futurism side (a lot of his stuff was. That's not a knock, just the subgenre. He was covering other things, politics, philosophy, etc with the SF the scaffolding) so it make sense as a literary device (like all the FTL drives) just not a device with which "Elno"* will rule the planet

Basically he's all mad that Dunkey who is popular and actually kind of funny and a shit talker joked around about being the record speed runner for a very popular Mario level. If you've ever heard Dunkey talk you know that's just his humor. "You think I don't play Mario? Like I'm one of the best #1 speedrunner record holder on Bowsers big bean burrito ever, SUCK IT!" Kind of jokes.. I don't know the second person he'd referring to but probably just as stupid.

I don't think these tweets actually have a thesis. It looks like they have one but I don't think they actually do. You have to go up a couple levels to recognize that the original statement (which? he'll never say of course) has to be something like "the left needs to fix its flaws so it can win" John proceeds to drop the last part, object to the rest and order everyone to focus on the part he dropped, which I guess is technically some kind of thesis? This kind of thing is way over my knowledge on the subject.

So just so I'm clear here, John is saying that a local police department went on 4chan, which last I knew is moderated, where they saw something that led them to launch a SWAT raid on some random Twitch streamers and this is somehow 4chan's fault? Because otherwise the only possible "solutions", which is something he seems to be using this tweet to advocate for, would involve infringing on free speech.
