It's "silencing a reporter" to point out their errors or lies? I really can't wait for John's tech column!

John just a fucking minute, are you suggesting that a female journalist made a mistake? Fucking RAPIST.

But the "correction" (which came after stealth edits were noticed) also lied which is why the story continued. Then Taylor wrote a whole big Twitter thread followed by like ten more tweets about how it's a "far right disinfo and harassment campaign" for people she lied about in an article to say she lied and for other people to notice this which is why the story is continuing.

I'm sure even John was taught, though he refused to learn it, in his ten years at journalism school how you shouldn't make yourself the story. Taylor also refused to learn this.

we've seen John's "corrections" - he deletes the embarassing tweet blocks people who pointed it out and hides for a day

In an ideal world, corrections would be rarely necessary, but swift if needed. That would be because reporters would do their due diligence and make sure that their story was as accurate as possible before publishing. In the event that an update to the story came about or an error needed to be addressed, it would be marked clearly so that everyone reading it would know what had changed.

However, we do not live in an ideal world. Stories are frequently published with errors in them solely to drive home an ideological point, and they know that most people will not even bother to read a correction if it's issued, or if they do then they won't remember it as strongly as the original lie. That old adage of a lie getting halfway around the world while the truth is getting its boots on comes to mind. If enough pressure finally amounts to get them to correct their mistake, they'll do it as quietly as possible, either through stealth edits or by burying the information at the absolute bottom of the article.

And now we have a new tactic from Taylor Lorenz, which is to just scream misogyny or blame the far right whenever you're rightly called out for lying maliciously. This forty-something acting like a twenty-something hanging out on TikTok all day is a fucking trash fire, and while I know she won't face accountability for any of this, at least it's entertaining watching her seethe at being corrected.

It's no surprise that John, who has based his entire existence on lying his ass off, would simp hard for Taylor. They're kindred spirits, after all, except one is a woman and the other is a man pretending to be a woman. Wonder if that makes John the bigger liar; John lies about more, but Taylor has a bigger platform and can do more damage with hers. Something to ponder.

This is also Taylors... I think third or fourth time being busted lying in an article and ignoring the facts to push her ideology as fact, in almost the same way.
This article was also stealth edited the first time until called out by Fox News, and Wapo's 'corrections process' was originally hidden at the bottom until again publically called out by the people she never contacted. ... LOL I MEAN FAUX NEWS LOL RIGHT WINGNUTS.

What I'm saying is real patronizing misogyny is to believe women are so stupid and subhuman that this is the best they can do, and to not hold them to the same standards of men because they are clearly incapable of reaching them.

This worked decently well in print. You open the paper, read it, the next day, same as the previous day, you looked at the corrections column on page 1. With news being curated a la carte tweets, and promoted by algorithms, any corrections won't float to the top because the user isn't interested in that, but new and sensational news will float upwards because that drives engagement, clicks and outrage. Twitter and their kind of social media is a pox on humanity.

I say this with 100% sincerity, that is the best any of John's dogs has looked in years. The gross matted fur and complete lack of grooming made them look like used mops with legs.

The only reason I'm glad John and Frank's house didn't burn down is because those dogs don't deserve a fiery death. John would absolutely abandon them to their fate while he desperately tried to save the Porsches, the 3D printers, and his anime figurine collection.

I hate to defend Brianna, but skunk odor can vary a lot and be interpreted differently by different people (some people even like the smell, because brains are weird). Concentrated skunk smell is often described as "burning rubber":

So the idea of interpreting it as an electrical issue is not that outlandish.

I hate to defend Brianna, but
I wouldn't (hate to 'defend' that is)
It's actually what's cool about the farms. It's about discussing the bullshit the internet-silly-people fling.
So if something is " that's actually correct" it's totally cool and appreciated that it gets called out - its discussion after all, not really promoting or "hating" on.
Sure, popular characters are SOOOO full of bullshit that their bullshit gets discussed a lot just by virtue of the sheer volume of BS they push.
but yeah, I dont see people hesitating to bring up something because it might "defend" a cow.
That shit is for sites with birds on them, etc

I think it's why certain factions have to call kiwifarms nazis, and white supremacists, alt-right, etc
They need to poison the well and keep people from even reading so they don't notice
the fact-checks
the "receipts"
the allowing different opinions
subforums on trump, tim pool, jordan peterson, etc
