Is John coming dangerously close to biting the hand that fed and White Knighted him?

This is a good idea John, with nothing but 32 hour work days ahead of you for the foreseeable future, you want to make sure those precious minutes of downtime are gainfully utilised.

I find it funny that john comes so close to self awareness, yet veers away at the last second. I guess when you are as empty and ugly on the inside as he is, you want to avoid introspection.

Also, when exactly did Kirk ever pay a price for bucking command? The only time I can think of is the end of Star Trek IV, where he was busted down to Captain ... which, incidentally, was exactly what he'd been wanting for four fucking movies.
The movie doesn't even pretend it's a punishment, everyone celebrates when it happens. And Kirk's immediately granted a brand new Enterprise as his first return to command.

To be honest, really none of the Trek captains ever face anything resembling "a price" for bucking command and they all do it. Picard, Sisko, and Janeway (to be fair it's not like there was anyone to hold her accountable except the rest of the crew) all flout regulations as much as Kirk did. Tom Paris is the only person across all four shows to ever get reduced in rank for his actions and it was only temporarily!

It really makes Wu sound like someone who knows about Trek culturally but isn't actually a fan who watches Trek. (Except the new ones apparently.)

Must have been a hell of a work meeting John.

Two things.

One, why would you ever read the same novel fifty times? Think about how much other stuff you could have read in even half those times.

Two, yes, the way satire works is because you go "it's so true" and are amused by it.

Is this incident archived anywhere?
Yes.

Brianna Wu lied about Gamergate killing his dog.
It's not "reading" if you're listening to an audiobook, John.
I seriously doubt John read or is even familiar with Cryptonomicon, a very dense, almost Pynchonian novel packed with concepts beyond his tiny, cloistered mind, including some that are decidedly non-SJW.

It's almost funny how John's rather limited literary preferences seem to be all for white males, even when a cultured woke-type could have pretty good taste in literature not involving white males. Why no Octavia Butler, John? Why no Samuel R. Delany? Why no Ursula K. LeGuin? Why no James Tiptree, Jr.? She would even be a tranny icon, because obviously she was trans, having chosen a male pen name.

He hasn't even expressed any opinion, that I know of, on that worthless woketard N.K. Jemisin.

Ah yes, the mass shooting at the vets office you never went to. By "gamergate" obviously. Not a person, but the idea. I love that he has 1 thing and only 1 thing.
Well, all of John's headmates would have been killed as well. That's at least a dozen people.
Gotta be more than that. Like the gay friends who were murdered in the south, and the army friends who died in Nam or whatever war he lies about.

Starfleet giving Kirk the new NCC-1701-A was a pretty good troll since it was an absolute piece of shit of a starship in Star Trek V. Let poor Scotty explain:

Montgomery Scott said:
[Voiceover during flyby] U.S.S. Enterprise shakedown cruise report. I think this new ship was put together by monkeys. Oh she's got a fine engine, but half the doors won't open. And guess whose job it is to make it right.

[On the bridge, beneath the navigator's console] Borgus Frat! "Let's see what she's got," said the Captain. And then we found out, didn't we?
Gads that movie sucked. Scotty was great but god damn the movie itself was just dreadful.

They did apparently get the ship whipped into proper shape prior to the events in Star Trek VI, but even in top condition it still got its shit pushed in pretty hard by a lone Bird of Prey and was ordered decommissioned before they'd even started back home from the mission. I think only nu-Trek has abused and emasculated the Enterprise more than V and VI did.

Soon to come: pictures of friends and loved ones tucking into John's bountiful Thanksgiving feast.

And by that I mean pictures of John playing video games by himself in an unfurnished house.

Wow, this would be brilliant self-referential humor...but I doubt John has the presence of mind to realize it

Wu: "MY DOGS ARE DYING FROM FOOD POI....I MEAN, ENCEPHALITIS, AND ITS GAMERGATE'S FAULT!"

Normies on Twitter: "Stop wasting time on Twitter and go take them to a vet!"

Wu: "REEEEEEEEE! STOP HARASSING ME! DON'T YOU KNOW I HAVE A MASTER'S IN DOG DOCTOR STUFF? STOP VETSPLAINING TO MEEEEEE!"

I can't find it but it was basically the bridge interactions between officers in TNG was all wrong and would've gotten everyone killed due to confusion, he said it was fine because thats the story they wanted to tell but the fact that John thinks its a super strict chain of command just goes to show his ignorance.
