Regarding the constant complaints about, and repairs to, the "classic car": the 2001 Audi TT was a known lemon at the time it came out. The alarming number of things that go wrong with it regularly aren't because the car is 17 years old; it's because the car was a piece of pretty shit from the moment it rolled off the assembly line. A trust fund baby I knew got one at the time - just within the first few months of use, the brakes went out while they were on the freeway one day, and they reported that the blind spots caused huge safety issues.

At the time, it was a car for persons with more money than sense. Now, it's a car for people who are fully certifiable, because if you buy one with the amount of info out there about how awful these cars are and STILL want it for the design, there's something wrong with you.
