You gota remember that Johnny doesn't really live in our reality.

He spends most of his time alone or with Frank; of that time he spends most of it on Twitter where he has total control of what he see's and hears.

When he goes out its to conventions where he carefully controls what events he attends and what kind of people he interacts with. So he never really encounters anyone who can offer an counter opinion or a glimpse of life outside of his little bubble.

John has 2 types of people in his life;

1. Your someone who can do something for him so he will tongue your ass.
2. You have nothing he wants so you either tongue his ass or GFTO/block/troll.

None of this leads to a rich and fulfilling intellectual life. He never really encounters someone who is outside his little SJW/Tech Feminist/Alt Game Dev world and if he did he would either browbeat them or ignore them. So to expect he him to see the logical fallacies and outrageous hypocrisy of his own statements is hoping for far too much.

And for this I'm grateful. John is a terrible human, a worst feminist and a laughably inept politician. All of which gives me no end of amusement.

Boy what could possibly go wrong buying a 16 year old AWD German convertible. It's not like the new owners will be too lazy to perform basic maintenance.

Also, the whole "buy old semi-prestige brand" car just screams bad finances & lousy credit. Something tells me the wu bank account is nowhere near as flush as people think.

Plus not like any of the old rules matter in modern politics but you think he'd at least have the sense to buy American. But hey any chance to further alienate WWC & union members eh?

Gee I wonder if the previous owners did the timing belt...

Of course they didn't, that's why Audis are so "affordable" if you just look at the used sticker price. 99% of the time they get 86'ed before the previous owners have to do that because the service is expensive. The alternative is not doing it, which eventually results in needing an engine rebuild/new engine when the belt inevitably snaps and all those fast moving internal components hit each other leaving a path of internal destruction in their wake.

While it's not expensive if you do it yourself (and is probably still cheaper to DIY even if you go out and buy ALL the tools you need to do the job, new), I know for a fact Wu doesn't have the mechanical prowess to carry out the several dozen steps outlined by the 5 second google search for directions even if he demonstrably has the time.

Those steps will run in the 4 digits if you want a competent mechanic to do them for you because you need to remove nearly all of the things from the engine bay and then put them all back in again which really runs up the cost when you're charging by the hour.

All this to say, if their bank account wasn't flush before, it's going to be even less flush when they discover the harsh realities of Audi ownership. :story:

I wouldn't read too much into it one way or the other. Frank probably doesn't even need it to get to work, and he seems like the kind of nerd who isn't really interested in cars. All this tells us is that Frank didn't spring for whatever John's absurd notion of a "Congressional limo" is.
