That would be a bit quixotic as he has been back in the U.S. since 2019. He has never been wanted as he has committed no crimes, except pissing off Jim Watkins which Watkins was able to bribe some bent flip judge into giving him a warrant over. His crime is calling Watkins, a senile old man, old.

Hard disagree. I don't know jack shit for certain but I was deep in the dev community at ground zero, though I didn't speak regularly to the central people involved (but close enough for a friend to leak stuff from the famous secret journalist list thing), and the whole deal always felt incredibly inorganic to me. The hooks of identity politics got into everyone's brain right there and the ethics of videogame journalism issue had been a widely known problem for decades ready to pop the moment anybody wanted it to.
Naive, disposable creatives in a rapidly growing sector of the industry were perfect amplifiers for it, and what was up until that point a rebellious, open and tightly-knit group with an amazing sense of camaraderie were effectively neutralised at the same time. Nobody really cares about that part but I got to hear about the five guyz days before everyone else then in miniature of what was to come saw all these cool artists who had all gotten along five minutes ago turn into Twitter assholes and scatter to the wind months before it happened to the entire rest of the Internet. Along with certain other events that happened to the platforms we used directly afterwards that guaranteed it, it felt like a deliberate systematic dismantling in retrospect. And given what it became a launchpad for which nobody thinks is organic... maybe people behind that stuff were just expert opportunists, but I don't believe so.

No clue, it sounds like it's just a propaganda piece by a mentally-ill sociopath. It's probably going to bomb heavily and no one but society's lowest common denominator would have any interest in it. It will also probably attract quite a shitstorm on social media, to the point that it wouldn't surprise me if the studio just cancels it mid-development to avoid the inevitable bomb.

Also seems like only left-bias sources like "Deadline" are promoting it. Makes me honestly wonder how much they fact-checked this creepy, idiosyncratic "Brianna Wu" character prior to deciding to kick the project off.

I think we've reached the "No Witnesses" Turning Point here.

The point where the amount of shit kicked off by someone has reached the point where it would have been better both in terms of ethics and convenience to be just as bad if not worse than what they claimed you were.

Just like how the British have to deal with some rich black woman screaming about her ancestors throwing themselves off the ship as to not live in shackles (she's from New Zealand) while the Arab's don't; simply due to the sheer differences in brutality they showed towards slaves and the fact the Arabs were far, far worse.

I bet that we would be hearing less about gamer gate today if that elite team of Gamers piled into their grease mobile, and unloaded a full clip of magazines into all those Gamer Food Bastards.
 
With any luck this thing will end up being the next "Room". When you give narcissistic crazy people a shit load of money and creative control of a project the results are always amazing.

Chinese audiences will really be missing out on this one.
