Probably about the same as a 43 year old man who wakes up at 4pm every day and thinks some stranger he never met before is suddenly his cousin who is responsible for the death of his mother.

There's no way he's not high as a kite, right? Is it smart for a recovering addict like Wu to even be hanging out with him?

Yes, his candidate must have been busy.

it's okay because that guy has "weird clammy crinkly hands"

Did you see this one? What's the line between hilarious and heartbreaking? Because this somehow straddles both.

The issue is that he's the last person who should be doing this.

In sales, there's a concept called "controlling the conversation". What you need to do, essentially, is match the mannerisms and mood of the person you're speaking to, but keep the lead the entire time while giving the impression that you're the one doing them a favor. You have to be supremely confident in yourself, and you need to be casual and friendly at the same time.
Above all though: you cannot act like you need this. It has to have an air of "hey man, I was just reaching out to see if you'd be interested, but if you aren't, it's your loss, I don't give a fuck".
You need to give the impression that you're doing them a favor by even offering. It's a confidence thing.

As best as I can tell, Warren is deeply neurotic, awkward, uncomfortable to be around, sensitive, and kind of damaged. His talking about "bursting into tears" over being questioned is kind of pathetic. He's a poor candidate for this kind of work.

Your friends aren't getting signatures because there's more of them. They're getting signatures because they're the kind of people who make people listen when they talk. People like them and want to hear what they have to say.

I honestly feel bad for the guy. He's going to be miserable doing this kind of work and facing constant failure, and after things go down, he'll be blamed for Wu's failure to hire proper help.

John told Warren all his secrets for pretending to be a human and not a sociopath winning people over in the political realm, but failed to tell that "You've got a really nicely shaped skull" isn't a complement for most people.

I don't. He's a loon and he sought them out in a desperate quest for importance of any kind.

Yeah but I'm not sure he can help being a loon. I think he legit might have mental issues (beyond that of the Wu's). The fact that they're willing to use someone like that speaks a lot not only to the farcical nature of the campaign but how exploitative they're willing to be.

Not exactly news, I guess. Hopefully he has a coat when they leave him outside in the Boston cold.

Maybe they're doing a public service, though. This whack tard might have gone all Taxi Driver on Lynch if he hadn't been kept busy on a failing campaign that won't even get John on the ballot.

I hope this is just a scampaign but Warren somehow manages to get enough signatures last minute and upon learning of this Wu falls off his Peloton bike as the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme starts playing.

I said this in the other thread, but Wu is just exhibiting her narcissistic and sociopathic tendencies with Warren. She doesn’t respect him and probably doesn’t even like him, so she’s not using her PUA/con artist tactics to keep him motivated. She will never blow smoke up this guy’s ass the way she does for any random woman whose Twitter feed she’s currently into.

She doesn’t care about signatures and will remain largely silent on the topic going forward. She’ll only discuss it in posts where she’s using it as Do You Know Who I Am material or when she’s high on the cool feminist politician fantasy, which comes and goes.

Just as Frank is the one who feeds and cares for the dogs when he and Brianna aren’t totally neglecting them, he’s also the one who comes and asks Warren, “who’s a good boy?!”

Aren’t there more caucuses on Saturday, when Brianna claims to be doing her panel? The panel is actually on Sunday but watch her pretend to be busy all weekend.

I heard that the other people on her Saturday panel cancelled and she had to find last minute replacements.

If she cared about signatures, she'd be tweeting about them. "Campaign volunteers will be at the Scituate library tonight collecting signatures. Visit between 5 and 7pm to help get me on the ballot."

The Scituate library is a shitty place to collect signatures. Not a lot of traffic on a Thursday evening, very conservative town where few people have ever heard of Wu and nobody wants to be bothered by someone from not here with a clipboard.

I'm guessing he went to South Shore Plaza next, because that's the biggest shopping center in the area, but that's also a shitty place to collect signatures and I'm surprised he didn't get beat up by the gangs of teenagers who are a problem there in the evenings.

I think I have some maternal instinct for campaigns because I want to shake them by the shoulders and explain how to get these signatures, but that's pure instinct. This is more entertaining to watch. I'm starting to feel bad for Warren though. He's a fucking mess. Maybe Norvic and me can start a consulting firm for hot mess campaigns. Probably not much money in it though.

The best possible result is if John gets exactly enough signatures to show up on the primary ballot and then rests on his laurels.

Because many of those signatures will be invalid and then his ballot petition will be challenged and he will lose and possibly, his finances in his fake campaign will get scrutinized.

She'd love it if she turned in 2005 signatures exactly, a few hundred are invalidated, and then she can spend the next two years doing the lecture and panel and podcast circuit about how her campaign was discriminated against and this is sexism and its trying to keep newcomers out of politics. That would be the best case scenario for her.

I would pay real money to see Brianna get to the point where he'd actually have to debate Lynch.

The difference between the two would be so distracting I don't think I'd actually be able to hear either candidates message.

What would the cost of them buying in a company to get the signatures for them?

Have they left it so late that they'd be charged a great deal extra?

It will be telling if they refuse to spend the money to get the signatures and Warren ends up failing to get the required numbers. It is telling that Warren is their only volunteer even after all this time. If you remember back to Christmas Eve they moved over to Dedham. It took them six days to do it. The reason it took them 6 days is because it was only Brianna and Frank moving them. If they actually had campaign volunteers they'd have roped them into helping.

Some have offered sympathy to Warren. I have absolutely none. He's a deluded idiot helping out a conman in his campaign. He's in way above his head but he isn't a teenager doing his first job, he's a 43 year old man. And all the way through he's thrown childish insults at Stephen Lynch and other elected officials. Even during his whining post he still had a jibe at Stephen's old clammy hands.

I really wouldn't be surprised if that's what the true goal of this last minute surge from the Wu campaign. Nevermind that it doesn't explain why the other women who are running for office could get their shit together and collect signatures. As it's been repeatedly demonstrated over the last few years of following John Flynt, no one is ever going to call foul on his bullshit in public. With the cries of sexism, Brianna might be able to draw more suckers in for a potential 2020 slush fund.

That's really incredible, John! I'm sure this woman will be of great use to you as an advisor for American public policy!

o-oh
Every. Single. Time.

A little bit off topic, but I just had a thought.
As much fun as it has been to follow Wu's stupidity over the years (and I am sure most of us have thought about this), I feel like she has been slowly sowing the seeds for her own ruin but when it hits I think it will be so massive and tragic that it may not even be funny to us (well maybe some of us), even though we all saw it coming. Think of all the people's money and time she has wasted and seemingly met no repercussions for. Unless there is something going on in the background in her interactions that were just not seeing, it seems like she has taken advantage of so many people's resources. I think we are seeing it kind of happen now, because I've noticed more and more non white cis men challenging her on social media outlets only to be blocked or ignored. But then on the flip side, she is getting all kinds of press and softball interviews that do nothing to question her claims or dive into her history.

But you know, at the end of the day, if the chickens finally do come home to roost, if shit hits the fan and Frank dumps her, if she is disavowed by the feminist, tech, podcasting, motorcycle, and Porsche communities, I am sure she will keep her weird chin up, blame it on sexism and find a way to keep going.
