So, slightly unrelated, but why did Wu suddenly put "N7" in her name? She doesn't strike me as a huge Mass Effect fan and Mass Effect 3 is fucking old, and the announcement for the new Mass Effect is a couple months old now.

I ask this because it keeps reminding me of @Geth_N7, and I can't help but feel like she's parading his defeat around despite him deliberately attempting to not antagonize her.

In ME3's Codex pages, when soldiers start N7 training, they visit the Vila Militar in Rio de Janeiro.

Hint: A lanky ugly gringo tranny wouldn't survive a day in the less well-off neighbourhoods without getting hit by a stray bullet. So no, John, you are not N7 material.
Signed, white cis male who happens to be third-world trash with less chances in the video game industry.

Agree to disagree? It's about honesty so often with Wu, and her very identity is dishonest.

If I can be a houseplant, why can't Witcher 3 be sexist just because I say so?

BECAUSE honesty matters. Remember, Wu is claiming to be born female. She's a TERF hiding her trans status.
It does not matter in my eyes. I don't think there is real reason to know what gender someone was born with unless you consider to have sex with them. However, this is my personal opinion and should the internet figure out, that Wu is -in fact- a trans-woman the following bloodbath will be glorious.

If we ignore this, where does it end? Five Nights at Freddy's -kin like Springtrap?
You haven't been around tumblr lately, have you? ;)

RPGMaker has all of the technical stuff already programmed in, while the stuff Wu and her team used to make Revolution 60 doesn't have that. Unless you've made a lot of custom scripts for your RPGMaker game, the work you put into your RPGMaker game isn't comparable to the work Brianna and her team put into Revolution 60. Even if you did make your own scripts, it doesn't really matter whether you did make a game better than Wu's game, all that matters is that she made a crappy game.

The fact that I may or may not have made better wasn't my intended point, and you are correct for calling that part out. The point I was trying to make was not that I am somehow better than Brianna (though my shitty games arguably were better-programmed and had demonstrably better audio mixing), but rather the fact that Brianna is being called BEST PROGRAMMER EVAR for Revolution 60. A game she did not program and which is riddled with bugs and glitches. I know I sure as hell liked the part where a scripting error resulted in a massive health-bleedout during Smutley's playthrough.

I think the stupidity of that statement caused my brain to crash. Thank you for helping to nudge me back on course.

While I do think it's her spiting Geth, she really is a big Mass Effect fan but the last thing I saw from her that was ME related was boasting about how she committed genocide and how it's the correct way to play(I have not played the game)

Happy 420 pages. :semperfidelis:

You have the option to committ genocide about six times in the Mass Effect series:

1. On Noveria, in ME1, where you can spare or kill the last remaining Rachni queen. You have the chance to save her again in ME3, where the choice is between her and Grunt's Platoon.
2. During Legion's mission in ME2, where you can destroy or turn the renegade Geth.
3. The final ME2 DLC Essentially has you destroy the Batarians' collective homeworld. The only way to avoid this is to not do the DLC.
4. You essentially destroy the Collectors entirely in ME2. The only ones left are remnants used by some of the Reapers and the renegade Levianthan faction.
5. During Wrex's segment in ME3, where you can help save the Krogan or thwart their cure.
6. Your actions result in the deaths of either the Geth, Quarians, both, or neither.

In all of the above, with the exception of #3-4 where the choice is made for you, mercy is the best choice:

1. Sparing the Queen results in her being an ally in ME3 once you do her subquest, provided you spared her the first time as well, resulting in higher levels overall and some interesting fluff from helping her out.
2. Saving the Geth means more allies against the Reapers later. See #6.
5. The Krogan have been DOUBLE GENOCIDED if you decide to thwart the cure. They've been losing numbers for years and it's been getting worse because of the Genophage. Fucking up the cure also betrays everything Mordin Solus' character arc worked towards, you fucking monster.
6. This is solely on you. Genocide the Quarians, Geth survive (and with greater numbers if you converted them in #2). Spare the Geth, the Quarians die. Try to broker peace without the stats, they kill each other. Pull it off and you cause one of the most emotional, moving scenes in ME3 and add two of the largest spaceborne armadas in the galaxy to your cause.

I'll bet Wu doesn't even headbutt.

Happy 420, Brianna Wu Thread! :jacepout:

Slight Mass Effect sperging for those discussing Wu's genocide comment:

What she was referring to was the outcome for the Mass Effect 2: Arrival DLC.

At the end of the mission, Shepard chooses to blow up a Mass Effect relay to delay the arrival of the Reapers. This relay, in particular, was close to Batarian space and the explosion killed millions of Batarians thus mostly ensuring the end of their species by Mass Effect 3. The decision is played to be a dramatic moment that weighs on Shepard but Wu is Wu and thus can only focus on the "see how powerful, cool, and edgy I am!" part. Brianna is essentially trying hard to be the edgy, "dangerous" teenager she never was or ever will be.

Tiptoeing on the EDGE of an admission!

Yeah, you're focused on this cuz it's "life or death".

Not cuz, y'know, you're TRANS or anything.

These situations are hilarious: Bri wants the victim points from trans status, as Caitlyn Jenner has made them the oppressed-group-du-jour, but....

Radical feminism and all that.

Caught between a fake Rack and a Place that used to get Hard.

Fun fact, since Giant Spacekat started working on their Steam release for Revolution 60 "Five Nights At Freddy's" was released - all four of them. And although I don't like the FNAF games much, they all were made by just one guy.

I like this. Anyone wanna take a stab at it?
Don't think I know anyone in the bay area or who runs this kind of thing for tech companies. The extent of my skills involve pointing out when she says something that is a blatant falsehood in the realm of biology. Also, hate to bring this up because of potential abuse, but do we have any confirmation on whether or not they really are sponging off of Frank's family for a place to live? County courthouses, at least down where I am, seem to have deeds and building permits listed as a matter of public record.

Didn't she admit as much, with the whole asbestos-removal deal?

I expect we'll see just how bad the coding in for that game whenever our little stroke victim gets around to releasing it on steam.

Perhaps stupid question, but is smutley's let's play with audio commentary? I ask because I listened to Hatman's (dunno who he is, so no opinion) which started OUT mocking-ish, then his comments seemed to suggest Brianna herself showed up in his chat, and his commentary gradually got, if not positive, a lot more equitable.

Which was not what i was looking for. >:)

Just come out as a fucking tranny... That might get you some attention from the media but we all know it, we're not stupid. Some of your fans pretend that they are, pretending like you look like a girl but it's bullshit.

You wanna string us along? Fine, get your game out on Stream first, then piss and moan about Patriarchy, we all know it's coming. Then get your big, *gasp*, "reveal" out of the way and go back to being nobody. Everybody knows your clock is ticking down, your time is up. Shit is getting old, just like John and his boyfriend.

PS. Brianna is a tranny. DS.

And now some news sure to annoy Miss Wu:

OneAngryGamer said:
After many months of waiting and a lot of procrastination, a journalistic review for the ‘Q’ program featuring an interview with game developer Brianna Wu back on February 25th, 2015 has finally been posted. The Ombudsman defends Brianna Wu’s right to say what was said, but the Ombudsman also chastises the CBC program for introducing #GamerGate as being about rape and death threats. Anyone only focused on rape and death threats will likely be disappointed.

Over on the CBC’s Ombudsman review site [backup] it was mentioned by Ombudsman Esther Enkin that the lead into the interview from guest host Rachel Geise with Brianna Wu about #GamerGate and the Law & Order: SVU episode titled “Intimidation Game”, did not live up to the CBC’s journalistic standards.

Dis_gon_b_gud.gif

Read on for details.
The interview’s lead-in comment from Geise stated…

“GamerGate is an on line movement that harasses and threatens women, particularly with those who have spoken out about sexism in the video game industry. Brianna Wu recently wrote about the Law and Order SVU episode and her experience of harassment in a piece for bustle.com, and she joins me now by phone from Arlington, Mass.“

Listeners complained about the misrepresentation of #GamerGate by the CBC, one amongst many by the broadcasting station. And as a brief history lesson, the hashtag started over a scandalous breach of ethics by a Kotaku writer .

When challenged by this description, CBC Radio director Lynda Shorten defended the description Geise used on the ‘Q’ program, stating…

“Balance does not, for instance, mean that every voice critical of GamerGate must be immediately juxtaposed with an equally strong voice supporting GamerGate. It is not always possible or even desirable to include all relevant points of view in the short time available for one story.”

Ombudsman Enkin disagreed with the program director’s stance. According to Enkin…

“Ms. Shorten’s response came to you over five months after the program aired. Q has faced many challenges this season, but this still is an unacceptable length of time to answer a complaint.”

“I think Ms. Shorten is wrong to say that because that was the focus and context, there was no need to address the issue of #GamerGate. At least some framing that notes this is a polarized and contentious term would have provided some needed context. The program did not live up to a commitment to providing more than one perspective in the way the introduction to the interview was phrased.

Enkin defends Brianna Wu’s right to express an opinion about #GamerGate and that a guest expressing said opinion is not violating the CBC’s journalistic standards and policies. However, Enkin states that the CBC should be “mindful” in its coverage, writing…

“There have been enough high profile stories in the past 12 months to prove this is still an issue worth discussing. The introduction of the piece fell short of standards. While I think CBC News and Current Affairs needs to be mindful in its coverage about how it characterizes something as amorphous as #GamerGate, the interview with Brianna Wu and her experiences falls within the bounds of policy.”

Enkin jumps through hoops to defend that coverage of #GamerGate centering around the harassment narrative still has merit, but in this case at least acknowledges that the CBC stepped over its bounds by being clearly biased in its presentation of the cultural event.

What’s more is that it’s scary to think that a CBC director can so easily admit that balanced reporting isn’t always required and that biased reporting is okay.

This follows up on CBC’s director of programming, Lorna Haeber, who mentioned on a separate occasion that describing #GamerGate as a movement about sending death and rape threats was a quick way to “remind people” “what it was about”.

Highly recommended to check out the rest. Even with people openly in Wu's camp, they're starting to see through all the lies.

No commentary audio. Every audio stutter, fuck-up, every audio mixing problem, there for you to enjoy.

I will never, for the life of me, understand the marketing decisions behind that product:

"We've created a flavorless pablum that can serve as a meal replacement! Jet-setters and go-getters all across the US will be interested in it! But it needs a name...."

It is, as the saying goes, a product that "fills a much-needed void".

Just come out as a fucking tranny... That might get you some attention from the media but we all know it, we're not stupid. Some of your fans pretend that they are, pretending like you look like a girl but it's bullshit.
Wait, are you telling me that Wu's cronies and followers don't already know he is a man?

It's the house of an elderly female relative who died a few years ago.

Been checking Wu's Twitter. Either Wu hasn't got the news about the CBC, or trying to ignore it and hope it goes away.
