Zero suit Samus isn't problematic, god dammit!
I don't care that Samus is sexy and wears a skin-tight bodysuit under her bulky equipment (har har). It makes logical sense that she would dress that way, if anything.
I have to agree Nintendo went strangely overboard trying to make her even "sexier" for a game that's more or less accepted to be a family friendly title, but the fact that she's attractive to begin with isn't what's wrong with her.
*walks away grumbling about fake gamers*
Also, she was sexualized since the beginning as the Justin Beiley was essentially look her in 8bit swimsuit. I also remember that the reward for Speedrunning in the SNES,GBA games where essentially low a new image of her showing more skin.
I think it was an aspect that was mostly ignored by the fandom (as the Metroid Prime games offered her without her helmet at best) but it feels that, for better or worse, is not out of place as Samus needed to have more going for her than Master Chief (at least he talked with his AI friend before Samus) as the minimalistic storytelling was more difficult to sell as Nintendo has the misguided idea that Metroid is popular because is a shooter (I mean, the Metroid Prime games becomed more action oriented by sequel and Other M was promoted as Team Ninja collaboration). Being out her armor beyond a bonus image at the end of the game was the obvious way to humanize her (that shitty storytelling and gameplay ruined that, is another story)
What I'm trying to say is that I agree that sexualized Samus is the least of the problems of how is currently managed that franchise.
Wu, your attempts to come off as more sane than your contemporaries in light of Sunset going down in flames are incredibly transparent, hypocritical, and hysterical, considering the retarded gimmicks you based your own work around.
Say it isn't so, Brianna! And here I thought that just having a bunch of black/asian disabled trannies in a game was enough.
But hey, at least she admits that "gameplay matters" is an unpopular opinion amongst SJWs
This quote from the movie Seven Psychopaths comes to mind:
Hey new idea how 'bout we change the title from The Seven Psychopaths to The Seven Lesbians Who Are All Disabled And Have Overcome All Their Spazzy Shit And Are Really Nice to Everybody And Two of Them Are Black. How 'bout that?
Dark Knight Rises being better than the Arkham Games is not something I will call a weird (if polarizing) opinion. At least I know Batman fans (that I would not call them SJW) that would say the same.
Still, Batman breaking criminal bones is not exactly weird. Batman is kind of a jerk at times. Also, explosives are fair game if is not to kill. Makes me thing she has not read a Batman comic in a while.
The fact it's an "interface" alone confirms that - I may not be entirely correct, here, but "interface" tends to be used to describe things that allow things to be entered, namely user input into technology or stuff.
There ain't shit entering those Get Ed eyes Minnie has on the level of a USB port or whatever.
Complicated Answer: Minuette has a nanocolony (read: Chessboard Nanites) like every member of Chessboard. In Minuette's case, she has a much more invasive set of personal electronics, specifically a Vespoid suite. Basically, she has a set of covert cybernetics that are used for intel-gathering (broad-spectrum analysis from the compound eyes, scanning in the antennae), and which are engaged/disengaged and powered by her nanites. It is worth noting that Wu suggests that this upgrade she has is genetic, referring to them as "bio mods," but the way she describes the tech makes it clear they're cybernetics.
And yet Solid Snake, in a setting that's arguably much more grounded in reality (sorta, can't get to far when admittedly that also is a series that literally relies on nanomachines to pretty much work as plot hole sealant), only needs an eyepatch accessory and a codec.
One wonders why a covert ops group like Chessboard went right for the "most overt scanner we could possibly find" option for their professed best agent.
How much you wanna bet they were cheap, pre-rendered items that could be just stuck on the model? So cheap, in fact, I bet Wu isn't going to remove them even though fucking Miku Hatsune is more convincing in just wearing a large set of headphones.
Yeah, in her words, each of the characters represents a different aspect of Brianna Wu. The fact that they are all total bitches is purely coincidental, I'm sure.
At least we can agree that there is something pretty fucked up in FrankBrianna relantioship. Maybe is just me, but my conception of birthdays gifts from you patner is stuff of romantic in nature or something appeal to someone personal tastes and sensibility. I dunno how many heterosexual women would be happy that his male boyfriend give them a statue of a video game character in spandex as a birthday present even if she is a fan or a geek; specially someone that is the self declared "Batman of feminism" and bitches about character designs in regular basis.
Though, if Wu is also being serious about that "aspects of me" shitfest, then Valentina/Unknown could have been the male representation (either the robot is or it's Minnie, but Minnie dates back to when Flynt was still a man so this is doubtful). The male part of Wu must die for the greater good of the female parts...if you don't kill the male yourself.

Heh, even WH 40K doesn't have its best soldiers wear shit under their armor.
Yes, I'm serious. While this video is obviously going to be a massive piss-take, according to the Warhammer 40K wiki, it is accurate in what those golden boys look like without armor:

I'm actually not that bothered by that - the fact they still say the Metroid Prime games are non canon is far more offensive bullshit and disresepctful to Samus since the only being powerful enough in those games to seriously challenge her is her own evil clone.
Still, Batman breaking criminal bones is not exactly weird. Batman is kind of a jerk at times. Also, explosives are fair game if is not to kill. Makes me thing she has not read a Batman comic in a while.
I never understood the problem with avoiding breaking bones - hell, what he does to the final boss of Arkham City is arguably worse -
he shatters clayface with freeze grenades, then lets his liquified remains pour into the Lazurus Pit which probably acts as a solevent and thus means Clayface can't reform himself because he's permiated with the Lazurus water - ironic given they give a kind of cursed immortality so it's really a "No Mouth Must Scream" kind of problem he has now,
which is actually kind of funny in this thread context given
you can figure out Clayface is working with Joker during the steel mill fight with detective vision - the only enemy around without any bones in his body is "Joker" himself.
My first thought it was: Because is Apple and SJW/Hipster stereotype of loving that company.
But I also think is a thin veiled way to say the "ends justifies mean. sorry for the coleteral damage but I really don't care." Because, otherwise, people have hard time to understand that even if you hate flag and what it represents to many people, you can also hate that a MegaCorp acted like pricks because PR and decided to purge anything because is easier than curate their fucking store of racism and Chinese clones.
I hope someone screen caps this shit hard, because I do NOT want to see Wu try to flip flop later.
Besides, why the blue fuck is Wu pushing so damn hard for transgender rights? Considering how much Wu has tried to deny his own past with that, that seems hilariously hypocritical.

You know, for a straight woman born with privilege, Wu seems to have no problem telling gays and lesbians what they're doing wrong. Seems kind of hypocritical given her views on mansplaining, but hypocrisy has lost all meaning with Wu.
Enh, at this point I think it's expected she would have gone batshit no matter what the verdict was.
Granted, it's kind of a funny thing here how Wu cries out for "transgender rights" - now why would they do that when they're so adamant about trying to hide their own status as MtF from their own side, hmmm?
Besides, why the blue fuck is Wu pushing so damn hard for transgender rights? Considering how much Wu has tried to deny his own past with that, that seems hilariously hypocritical.
Because like always, Wu sees any kind of potential commendering of something important in the public view well before even acknowleddging it might be better to shut the fuck up for once.
Here, Wu is a MtF, so obviously now that homosexuals are allowed to legally marry, might as well push that transgender privledge of hers to make more of a point, since they are transgender and so obviously they are oppressed or something. Wu's feet are probably shoved well past her mouth and into her throat for how often she's been saying contradictory shit like that.
You know, for a straight woman born with privilege, Wu seems to have no problem telling gays and lesbians what they're doing wrong. Seems kind of hypocritical given her views on mansplaining, but hypocrisy has lost all meaning with Wu.
It's because Wu's reality is what she makes it to be - literally. The only solid law of existence as far as she cares is "Wu is never, ever, ever wrong." Doesn't matter if she contradicts herself multiple times in the same paragraph, to her she didn't contradict herself at all because everything she said was true at the time she said it, the fact most of it now staunchly contradicts the last thing she said is irrelevant.
Which also largely describes what parts of that shit background plot book @Jaimas posted half of, since the golden rule there was outright "Do not do any of this shit unless your commanding officer says so. In which case you must break the rules because not following orders is worse than literally anything."
TLR - Wu's entire philosophy is that she's the fucking greatest person alive, never says anything wrong ever, and you're a misoginistic shitlord if you even so much as question her. She says the sky is brown and the sun is colored a deep navy blue, then you better believe that the sky is bright fucking green and that the sun is in a permanent eclipse state, or else.
