I guess I was more wondering why Wu isn't going crazy over the fact that she's a very blatant sex object. Not so much a commentary on the show as it is on that old Wu selective rage.

All questions like that can be answered with: It's okay when I do that or thinks so because X. X being whatever oppressed minority you identify with.

Wu's "guilty pleasure" is overly sexualized women. It's something that probably goes back to when she was a Sailor Moon sperg and I think it all ties into her distorted, black and white view of gender. I get the feeling that she likes it because the sexy poses and tight costumes highlight the physical female form. She will never admit as much because it's suicide with her group but the evidence is all there with her character designs and art.

You're overthinking it. It's just your A1 self-insert. Basically Bri-bri wants to be that female character. If it's Samus Bri feels like "fuck yeah, badass GIRL bounty hunter, just like me". If it's Other M, Bri will either bless it or hate it depending on how she identifies with Samus. Bayonetta is sexist because of her outfit unless Bri can connect to whatsherface in Bayonetta, then she wants to be that character and then it's empowering to females.

It all boils down to what i said before. "I'm an expert on feminism and sexism and if i tell you that a sexy girl is empowering and progressive she is." "If i don't she's just eye candy and patriarchy, MRA, rape, whatever." "Listen and believe!"

More like it's down to what he fancies. :tomgirl:

Nah, Wu has truly a fetish. Her early drawings had stuff like tentacle monsters and all her designs and tastes are basically bitchy girls in spandex. Whatever she imagines herself as the reciving end or the one doing is anyone guess but is clear she does like the female body in a fetish way. Maybe the true reason why she try to hide her Trans status is because she knows there is a rupture between inclusive feminism vs anti trans one that is only further aggravated because transtrenders.

Well, she could do this forever but it means that she's not going to be able to drop hundreds of thousands of dollars on "passion projects" that generate no revenue or continue getting expensive luxury items like iWatches or motorcycles. Furthermore, as we've discussed before, I don't see her speaking tours lasting because all Brianna wants to discuss is herself. Like with all lolcows who are in love with unsustainable lifestyles, something has to give eventually and that meltdown will be glorious

They don't have kids. All the money and energy that would go into them are going into Brianna's toys.

She's not bringing in any money from speaking fees, nor is that the plan. She's not doing it for the money. She's doing it because she likes to hear herself talk. She's lucky if the "speaking fee" is paying for her flight out there.

She will do "game development" in between twitter freak-outs and her gradually dwindling speaking engagements. There won't be any other developers to do the actual work so everything will slow to a crawl. An indefinite Sisyphean crawl of news about upcoming game releases.

I'd go so far as to say it's not just sexualized imagery of women in general, but sexualized imagery of women...from the 60's.

Seriously, SocUncon was said by Flynt at the time to be set in the 60's and Revolution 60 has it right in the bloody title. To say nothing of Holiday having a fucking beehive which nobody not trying to actually do a retro look ever wears because it's ridiculous (much less fucking try to be stealthy), Minnie's "alien bug" form (which to this day I don't think is ever fucking explained or I've never gotten an explaination for it) amounts to a hairband with two springs with balls on the end and a pair of fancy contacts, and a sentient vehicle in the form of Holiday's ulta-fucking-stupid bike.

I was about to say. Wu has mentioned that she loves Charlie's Angels (70's) and I figured that's where she gets most of her female cues from... It even is present in Rev 60 with her girls taking orders from an omnipotent being. ie. Charlie.

Starting to wonder if John isn't legit autistic, considering his obsession with crap from his high school years and, as mentioned, sex symbols as defined by the 1960's.

The most bizarre part is how he tries to reconcile that with what the SJW crowds he panders to desire, when the two are obviously incompatible, but then again OPL tried the same by claiming Sonichu was family friendly yet including graphic sex scenes.

I actually was going to suggest he's autistic as fuck, but didn't because I thought it was actually already commonly assumed.

But yeah, the Sonichu comparisons run deeper than ever with that in mind - for OPL, Sonichu is basically the psychological blob formed from everything Chris has liked in all of time - pokemon, sonic, his bizarre fixation on having sex with women, eventually his transgender state, pretty much everything Chris has liked that he wanted for himself but couldn't have so he made is better, "copyrighted 2000 to CWC" versions.

For R60, it is unquestionably just a shitty 60's sci-fi take on Socially Unconscious, right down to having virtually the same visually unchanged characters with one exception that still remained shitty so maybe not. I think whatever form Flynt tried to push that shit through at any given time was based on what he/she thought was cool then and would net them some kind of fame. R60 being a shitty video game was just the latest incarnation. Just like how OPL always wanted to make Sonichu a successful comic/video game franchise.

Maybe Wu truly is the opposite world equivalent of OPL where the only major factor in his upbringing that was changed was that his family was fucking wealthy instead of trailer trash. And maybe the fact Wu at least understands having a fucking job is necessary instead of living off of SSI and selling shit custom Amibos on accounts trying to circumvent eBay policy.

It's explained, just really stupidly.

I'm not sure if that's just tautology in that the stupid reasoning for her being a bug lady is at all better than her having none to begin with...but curiosity implores me to ask just what exactly is the official backstory for why Chessboard's best field commander is a life-sized cootie monster.

Oh god not a Voyager argument. Janeway is not fat and I would have sex with her Picard is still a better captain though. I've never seen a reasonable argument for Janeway being best captain. Yes she owned the Borg like a boss but you have to take everything they've done as captains as a whole, not just cherrypick some very plot convenient circumstances.
Anyway I just watched the latest Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and I was shocked to see BWu. I watch this show weekly and they are usually extremely reasonable about these issues. I probably disagreed with this episode the most. Why Brianna? They are usually pretty good about their research.
Like others said, it was a segue into a very good point about revenge porn. And the fake AOL commercial at the end was very amusing. But seeing Brianna really discredited a lot of their arguments. Doesn't help I don't think much of cyberbowling claims in general. I really dislike it when people make it out like women have a particularly hard time, just don't be a noob and don't take this shit too seriously, trolls feed on that. It's really not that hard. I've been on the internet since forever and if I've gotten rape threats I don't even remember because people post horrid shit online all the time. Grow up. Honestly one of the most disgusting, pornographic messages I've seen directed at someone I know was at my boyfriend, and we laugh about it, because it's fucking stupid and it's the internet. I can't stand seeing people freak out about this dumb ass shit.
Anyway if you've never watched Last Week Tonight, I recommend it, don't let this discredit it too much.

I never saw the show before, but when I watched the clip it seemed to have a few digs hinting throughout? I don't understand how giving them 5$ a month or whatever stops cyberbullying, unless it's a bribe to keep them off of the internet.

And Wu looked so strung out, twitchy and bug-eyed I nearly spat my drink out. Oh, my gosh... She is just not photogenic at all.

Personally, I thought the LWT episode was good once it got into the meat of the story (Revenge Porn), but it would've been so much better if they actually talked about other forms of legitimate online harassment, like SWAT-ing and doxing. Probably was an issue with time constraints though.

Back on topic, I don't agree with them placing Brianna and Anita as their figureheads for female harassment, but if I say something about the numerous issues and fallacies about them mentioned on here and other sites, I'd have a bunch of people harassing me for "muh privelege".

4. Problematic

It's stuff like this that makes me wonder if Wu secretly resents the restrictions on being able to enjoy his own fetishes by the SJWs he has to walk around eggshells for, so he has to come up with justifications for enjoying problematic things in advance just in case they turn on him.

Simple Answer: Nano-Enhanced Cybernetic Interface.
Also Wu does not know how to into pseudoscience.

Complicated Answer: Minuette has a nanocolony (read: Chessboard Nanites) like every member of Chessboard. In Minuette's case, she has a much more invasive set of personal electronics, specifically a Vespoid suite. Basically, she has a set of covert cybernetics that are used for intel-gathering (broad-spectrum analysis from the compound eyes, scanning in the antennae), and which are engaged/disengaged and powered by her nanites. It is worth noting that Wu suggests that this upgrade she has is genetic, referring to them as "bio mods," but the way she describes the tech makes it clear they're cybernetics.

One wonders why a covert ops group like Chessboard went right for the "most overt scanner we could possibly find" option for their professed best agent.
